After a few minutes...

All five outer disciples lay sprawled across the ground, groaning in agony after their failed group assault on Xiao Yan.

Their limbs were broken—twisted at unnatural angles—as they writhed and scread in pain.

"Ugh! W-What the hell... just happened?!"

"H-How did this bastard suddenly beco so strong?! My arms—AGHH!"

"I-Is this really that loser... Xiao Yan?!"

"D-Did he get possessed by so vengeful ghost or demon?"

"AGHHH! It hurts... it hurts so bad!"

Xiao Yan stood a few ters away, calm and composed, staring down at them as if they were nothing more than insects crawling beneath his feet.

He scoffed.

’Tch... pathetic worms. Did they really think they stood a chance against with their asly Low-Stage Foundation Realm cultivation?’

’? The one once feared across the Sleeping Dragon Continent—even by the strongest cultivators?’

’This body may have trash-level talent and is only at Peak Qi Solidification... but my battle instincts and experience far surpass anything those ants could ever comprehend.’

’I once faced a Supre Being of this continent—and walked away without a single scratch.’

Swoosh!

With a casual flick of his wrist, Xiao Yan’s hand blurred.

A second later, all five disciples’ heads dropped cleanly from their shoulders—blood spraying into the air like crimson fountains before their corpses collapsed.

’Hmph... was that all of them?’

’No... even if this body’s senses are dull, my soul is not. Another one’s approaching—and he’s a bit stronger than those insects.’

Then—

A sharp voice rang out behind him.

"Xiao Yan?! You’re still alive?!"

Xiao Yan slowly turned to see Ling Xing standing a short distance away, eyes wide with disbelief.

"I don’t know how you returned from the dead," Ling Xing said, drawing his weapon, "but I saw it with my own eyes—you died! Looks like I’ll have to kill you myself this ti."

Xiao Yan stepped forward with a mocking smirk, his voice low and chilling.

"Ling Xing... oh, Ling Xing. Did you know? The forr owner of this body considered you his brother. He trusted you... deeply."

"What the hell are you babbling about, you lunatic? Have you gone mad?" Ling Xing snapped, unnerved.

Xiao Yan’s eyes narrowed. A glint of murderous intent flashed in their depths.

"I’m simply wondering..."

"How should I kill you... to make it satisfying enough for the one you betrayed? The one who still hoped you were a friend... even in his final monts."

Ling Xing lunged forward, his sword gleaming with a sky-blue Refinent-Stage Aura as he charged straight at Xiao Yan.

"AHHH!"

Swoosh!

Whoosh!

With a fierce scream, he unleashed a flurry of slashes—each strike faster and more frenzied than the last.

But—

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

Xiao Yan evaded them effortlessly, his body weaving through the air with an almost lazy grace.

It was like watching a five-year-old flail a wooden sword at a seasoned master—pathetic and laughably ineffective.

Not even breaking a sweat, Xiao Yan spoke with quiet coldness, his eyes never leaving Ling Xing.

"It’s truly sad..." he said. "He treated you like a brother... offered you kindness and trust. And yet... you betrayed him without a second thought."

Swoosh!

Another slash ca. Ling Xing scread.

"Do you only know how to dodge?! Die, you bastard!"

Xiao Yan sidestepped the attack again with ease.

"Sigh... So eager to kill him, huh?" he murmured. "Tell ... was there ever a reason behind your hatred?"

Through gritted teeth, Ling Xing roared as he kept swinging his blade.

"What the hell do you know?! Despite having no talent, you were born into a rich, powerful family. You got everything handed to you... even her!"

"You could talk to Young Miss Ling like it was nothing... while I slaved away just to get her to notice ... and she never even looked my way!"

His eyes burned with twisted resentnt.

"I was the happiest person alive when your entire family was massacred... Hahaha!"

Xiao Yan’s expression didn’t change. His tone remained eerily calm.

"I see... envy and jealousy again."

"Even when he had nothing worth envying, so people just can’t stand the smallest happiness others have."

"You don’t understand anything, bastard! I—"

Ling Xing’s words caught in his throat.

Snap!

Xiao Yan’s hand clamped around his neck like an iron vice, lifting him off the ground.

His cold eyes locked with Ling Xing’s panicked ones.

"I don’t give a damn about your sad little story," Xiao Yan growled. "Because I’m not the Xiao Yan you knew."

"W-What?!"

"I am Xiao Yan, the Elental King."

Ling Xing’s pupils shrank.

"That’s... impossible!"

"Oh, it’s very real," Xiao Yan whispered. "And you lost all your worth the mont you betrayed him."

A chill crawled down Ling Xing’s spine. Every word Xiao Yan spoke dripped with killing intent.

"Now... DIE, worthless traitor."

Xiao Yan’s voice dropped to a whisper as he incanted:

"Elental Dismantle!"

SPPLAAASSHH!!

A violent blast of power erupted from Xiao Yan’s palm. Ling Xing’s body exploded into countless fragnts—flesh, bone, organs and blood scattering into the air like a crimson storm.

Xiao Yan’s robes were soaked with blood, bits of gore clinging to his face.

He spat.

"Tch. What pathetic junk."

Then he turned away.

’Well, Xiao Yan... I’ve taken the first step in your reveng—’

But then—

"COUGH!"

Blood burst from his mouth as he collapsed to the ground, clutching his chest.

’Haa... Hahh... This body isn’t strong enough to withstand high-level techniques yet...’

’I need to strengthen this trash body quickly. Still, I was lucky he hadn’t crossed into the Foundation Realm... or it would’ve been far more troubleso.’

—anwhile, two kiloters away—

Atop a tall tree branch, Reon stood silently, eyes narrowed in shock.

’What a terrifying monster...’

’Just how strong is this Elental King? I’ve heard his na before... but to think he would possess soone else’s body like ?!’

Suddenly—

Ding!

A familiar chi echoed in his mind, followed by a system panel materializing before his eyes:

[The Host has discovered an A Rank Son of Heaven: Xiao Yan, the Elental King.]

’A Rank? Is this... a ranking system for protagonists?’

’Then... does that an he’s incredibly dangerous?’

’Wait... what rank is Yang Lie then?’

Another thought flashed in his mind:

’Should I eliminate him here and now... before he becos a threat to ?’

But the system’s cold ssage appeared again:

[Warning: Host will die if he engages with the target at this ti. It is advised to flee imdiately.]

What?! He’s only at Peak-Stage Qi Solidification!’

[Host, never underestimate soone based on their cultivation realm. He is a literal monster.]

’...What?!’

Then—

A voice sneered beside him.

"What are you doing here, hiding like a rat, you sneaky little bastard?"
