After standing around for an hour, cursing his luck and any lurking phantoms to oblivion, Ryan decided to lean on the door and wait for Luke’s return.

But just then, his gaze snagged on sothing beneath the doorknob.

"What? A biotric lock?!" he blurted, utterly disbelieving.

Wait...

How did he even know what a biotric lock was?

’Hmm...I have no fucking idea,’

Well...

Since he couldn’t explain the strange phenonon, he just shrugged it off.

He placed his thumb on the mini screen and then...

*Click*

To his surprise, the door swung open with a satisfying click.

He peeked around, then pushed the door fully open.

*Squeak*

"Woah," he blurted, surprised.

The room turned out to be unexpectedly huge.

In one corner was a bunk bed, three beds stacked on top of each other. Adjacent to the window was a large table, obviously for studying.

Beside the bed were what appeared to be slots for personal belongings. And just in front, a few feet away, was what appeared to be a... doughnut?

No...

It was more like a jelly bean, sothing like that... Well, whatever it was, it looked good to sit on.

He took a deep breath before making his way to one of the beds. There were no nas on any of them, so he just climbed the mini ladder and laid down on the middle one.

Now he could reflect and think about his situation.

As things stood, he was far from free; he was still a captive of a god called Owen, for a cri he couldn’t rember.

And yes, there was that lady who saved him from that realm. Although he couldn’t rember her, he was sure they had so sort of relationship.

But that, for now, would be pointless to dwell on considering the dire circumstances surrounding him.

But at least, this was better than being in a world where he was ant to always die a painful death.

[Life points: 209pts]

Or not...

Well, at least an easy life was possible here.

"Oh, that’s right... System, how can I earn more life points?" he asked, gazing up, both arms serving as a pillow.

[Life points can only be earned by undertaking quests.]

"And how can I get these so-called quests?" he insisted.

[There are four types of quests: System allocated, which co randomly pending on the situation, and there are the Generated quests, which, as the na entails, can be generated randomly to acquire points. These are the basic quests.] the voice in his head began.

[System allocated quests are mandatory with tirs, which ans there will be consequences upon failure to complete said quest.]

[But Generated quests vary depending on the given mission, which ans there is a possibility of the user generating a mandatory quest with consequences upon failure. Rewards vary depending on difficulty, and the user can only generate one quest at a ti.]

[There are also side quests; these are quests that are given due to sudden situations. Most co without any penalty or tir, but there is a possibility of them appearing, so it is absolutely random, and rewards are completely random.]

[And finally, we have the final and main quest, the conquest. This is your ultimate quest in this world, and upon completion, the user will be deed free of all sin, and freedom to return to your world will be permitted.]

"Wait?!.... I can go back to my world? That’s right, I actually have a world where I ca from, ha! That’s a relief... So, what is this ultimate quest?" he asked.

[To conquer all the heroines.]

"Pfffff!" Ryan choked on his own spit, stopping himself from spitting blood, "It seems I’m dood to live here after all," he mused.

"....So how do I generate a quest?" he asked, trying to see if there was so form of hope.

[As of now, the user cannot generate quests.]

"What... Why?!" He blurted out in annoyance.

[This is because the user is yet to complete previously generated quest.]

"What?" he muttered.

[Do you wish to view quest?]

"I do," he responded.

[Generated quest

You have been given the chance to settle the scores.

Objective: Challenge Lucas Quinn to a duel and win.

Target: Lucas Quinn.

Ti: Unallocated.

Reward: 700 life points.

Trials: 0/1.

Penalty: -300 life points.]

Ryan, who actually wanted to scream out in joy when he saw the rewards, choked on his own spit when he saw the penalty.

At this rate, if he was to get defeated, he would die instantly, and not just that, he would still be owing so points even after death.

"Ha! Why didn’t I complete this mission again?" he asked, hoping for a clue or sothing.

[That’s because you said he was - in your words - just too fucking strong to defeat.]

"Past said that? Damn, that only ans there is no hope," he clicked his tongue in annoyance, "But can’t I just skip THAT mission?" he asked, a tinge of anticipation in his voice.

But painfully, his hope was squashed, [The mission had no tir, so you either attempt it or give up on generated quests as a whole.]

"Yeah, my luck really sucks," he said before closing his eyes and descending into the realm of Morpheus.

*Click*

A sharp click sound instantly startled him, and he woke up, looking for his bed only to catch sight of Luke strolling down towards the sloth of personal belongings, he dropped what looked like a wrapped bundle of swaddled clothing. He then looked up, and his expression shifted a bit.

"Ryan? Seems you at least rembered your part of the bed," he said with a smirk after that slight shift in expression.

’Maybe I’m just seeing things,’ Ryan convinced himself.

"Yeah, sooo... How exactly do we get food here?" Ryan asked, his growling stomach taking center stage.

"Ha, figured. Alright, just hop down, let’s go take a bite in the cafeteria," he said, taking off his blazer and shoes, putting on sothing more comfortable.

"Sweet," Ryan replied with a smirk, taking a leap of faith. "What’s for dinner?"

"Noddles and at."
