But to Charlotte, none of that mattered.

He wasn’t her enemy. Because her enemy, the man she hated more than anything, was already gone.

Was she naïve? Or just insane?

No. She wasn’t either.

She just... didn’t care.

Her hatred for Licht Valtier had grown so deep and so consuming that it had overridden her responsibilities as a human being.

"By the way... Mr. Demon," Charlotte said, her voice teasing

"Is it possible for you to still teach that technique, God’s Descent?"

Licht didn’t need long to think.

Though part of him still wanted to deny her out of instinct, he felt as if teaching her was a way to bind her to his ship. By then, even if she did go crazy and falsely accuse him as a demon

Just as Licht was thinking this, the system chid.

Notification: You’ve triggered a new mission.

"Inheritance of Valemont"

Mission Objective: (Series)

Teach Charlotte Valemont the Lost Etchings of the Rushing Thunder: God’s Descent

Completion Rewards (Grade-Based):

D-Rank: 100 points

C-Rank: 200 points

B-Rank: 300 points

A-Rank: 500 points

S-Rank: 700 points

Licht clicked his tongue; finally, the system was doing sothing useful for once.

Charlotte blinked. "So... are you going to demonstrate the technique now?"

Licht scoffed.

If only it were that easy...

His Infinite eyes were still on cooldown. Attempting God’s Descent without them would be suicidal. His body would be reduced to charcoal before he even made it to the final form.

So instead of risking death to show off in front of a girl, he gestured for Charlotte to sit.

"Start by ditating. Draw in the ambient mana and begin refining it."

Charlotte obediently sat down and crossed her legs, and closed her eyes.

As this happened, Licht walked around behind her and gently placed his hand on her upper back, causing Charlotte to jolt at the touch, clearly not expecting it.

"Relax," said Licht softly.

"I’m going to channel my mana through your body. It’s been infused with the essence of the Rushing Thunder God technique, so don’t worry and let it move in and around you."

She didn’t respond, but her posture softened slightly.

"It’s the sa technique," he continued, "but my mana’s nature is different from yours." Licht continued. That contrast will help you begin manipulating unstable lightning elents."

"Now close your eyes. Don’t look for the lightning. Feel and trace the residue it leaves behind, almost like a butterfly chasing a scent in the air."

As he said this, tiny sparks danced across Charlotte’s skin as more and more lightning elents flowed through her.

As more foreign lightning elents entered her body, everything began to feel sharp and prickly. Charlotte’s breathing started to grow unsteady as her body unconsciously tensed up

"No. Don’t resist it," Licht warned.

"Tensing up will only lead to rejection. If that happens, the lightning will fry you from the inside out."

He paused before saying the words that mattered most.

"God’s Descent isn’t about brute force. It’s not about output or strength. It’s about resonance. You’re not creating a storm, you’re inviting one. Only by syncing with the world can you gather enough lightning to beco a god!"

As Licht said those final words, Sothing clicked inside Charlotte’s mind.

Her body settled, and her breathing suddenly had a charming rhythm to it .

Her eyes snapped open.

Lightning crackled around her in smoky coils, wrapping her in shimring threads of power. Her pupils were gone—replaced by a stormy sea of radiant blue light.

『Rushing Thunder God — God’s Descent (D)』

Licht imdiately took a step back as a system notification went off in his mind

System Notification: Mission Complete!

Reward: 100 Enlightennt Points

Licht blinked, montarily stunned.

He had to admit it—Charlotte was a genius.

As a Valtier, born into one of the Eight Great Families, Licht knew firsthand how difficult it was to even grasp an S-grade technique. It had taken him years of blood, sweat, and countless near-death experiences to make it usable. And yet...

Charlotte had simply sat down, followed his guidance for a few minutes, and already triggered the base form of God’s Descent.

"What a Monster..." he muttered under his breath.

But Licht’s admiration quickly turned into alarm.

The arcs of lightning around Charlotte began to churn violently as her aura beca volatile, causing the training hall to shake with thunderous force. Sparks leapt out with every breath she took.

"No... This isn’t right," thought Licht

As he looked at Charlotte, her saw her body tremble, her eyes still glowing but now blank and unfocused. The lightning was going willd

"Damn it! She’s drawing in too much. Her mana core can’t regulate it anymore!"

God’s Descent wasn’t about brute force. It was more like a communion with a chaotic lightning storm, a brush against the divine. But nature was never ant to be controlled.

Charlotte let out a static filled gasp as Her knees buckled.

"Charlotte!"

Your trait「Dragon Soul Guard (S)」has been activated

"ROAR!!"

A flash of silver-blue tore through the air.

The dragon soul.

It burst forth, claws lashing into the storm as it wrapped its massive body protectively around Charlotte. Its scales shimred like tempered lightning, forming a barrier that absorbed the violent discharge building within her.

Licht clenched his jaw and stepped forward.

"You reckless idiot..."

He thrust his palm out, and with a growl, he dragged the lightning away from her—into himself.

Pain surged through his arm as raw current ripped through his veins. His body shuddered, but he didn’t let go. The storm needed sowhere to go and he had danced with it before sending it back into the dragon soul, causing it to spit out a ferocious breath of crackling lightning

Gradually, the hall began to be still.

The crackle faded. The air cooled. The storm subsided.

Charlotte slumped forward, caught by the dragon’s gentle claws.

Licht watched this, exhaling with relief as steam rose and bubbled from his skin.

The dragon soul looked at him and then slowly unfurled from around Charlotte.
