Chapter 16: Seeing Lin Jia Again
The storyline was finally kicking off, and Yang Yu felt a surge of excitent.
Back when he watched the movie, he had always felt that Lin Jia deserved better. She gave the best five years of her life to ng Yun, but he failed to cherish her.
Whatever the reason, a few sweet words and so effort could have easily resolved their problems.
Was pride really worth that much? In the end, wasn’t he the one who regretted it the most?
Yang Yu thought for a mont and then turned to Ding Dian. “Why don’t you give the address? I’ll go pick her up.”
Ding Dian looked up at him anxiously. “You’re not planning anything with Lin Jia, are you? Please, just leave her alone.”
Yang Yu glanced at her and, without hiding his intentions, said casually, “She’s such a beautiful woman. If ng Yun doesn’t appreciate her, then I will. Don’t you want her to have a good future?”
Ding Dian instantly snapped.
For the first ti, she ignored Yang Yu’s threats and lashed out.
“If you dare touch Lin Jia, I won’t forgive you! She’s my best friend—my closest confidante. She’s helped so much over the years. I’ve already lost everything, but if I have to, I’ll fight you with everything I have!” Ding Dian’s voice trembled with anger.
Yang Yu cursed internally.
Looks like he had no choice but to use the card after all.
He had assud Ding Dian would stay obedient, but he hadn’t expected her to explode like this for Lin Jia’s sake.
Seeing Yang Yu fall silent, Ding Dian grew even more anxious.
“Please, just don’t do anything to Lin Jia. I’ll do whatever you want, okay? You can have any woman you want—just let her go. As long as you promise that, I’ll do anything.”
Tears welled up in her eyes as she pleaded desperately, her words becoming incoherent.
Yang Yu knew the two of them were close, but he hadn’t expected Ding Dian to go to such lengths for Lin Jia.
He sighed inwardly and silently apologized to her in his heart.
“Whether I leave Lin Jia alone depends on you,” he said after a pause, smiling.
Ding Dian imdiately understood what he ant.
In the end, Yang Yu still used the Slowly Falling in Love card on her.
Oh well, one step at a ti.
But now that she was on his side, winning over Lin Jia would be much easier.
Looking at Ding Dian snuggling against him like a docile kitten, Yang Yu felt like cursing himself.
After all that effort, he still had to use the card. He might as well have done it from the start.
Still, he had to admit—it worked like a charm.
“You won’t win Lin Jia over that easily,” Ding Dian warned lazily. “She may look delicate on the outside, but deep down, she’s incredibly strong-willed. If you try the sa tactics you used on , you’ll fail. She’d rather burn everything down than give in.”
Now fully devoted to Yang Yu, Ding Dian had already started advising him.
The Slowly Falling in Love card truly lived up to its reputation.
“Oh? Then what do you suggest I do?” Yang Yu asked.
Ding Dian shot him a seductive glance and pouted. “Hmph! You want to help you woo another woman? What if you don’t want anymore once you have her?”
“How could that happen? No one could ever replace my precious Ding Dian,” Yang Yu coaxed.
It seed that while the card didn’t change a person’s personality, it made sure they only had eyes for him.
From now on, no other man could enter Ding Dian’s heart—she would always put Yang Yu first.
“Hmph, all you n are fickle,” Ding Dian grumbled playfully.
“I swear, as long as I have you two, I’ll never be unfaithful again,” Yang Yu said, raising his left hand as if making a solemn oath.
“Alright, alright, I believe you. No need for dramatic vows,” Ding Dian chuckled. “Don’t worry, I’ll help you. I’ll find a way to create opportunities for you.”
Yang Yu smirked. I only said ‘this world’—I never promised anything about other worlds.
“Go pick her up first. I’ll handle the rest,” Ding Dian said.
After a shower, Yang Yu left feeling refreshed, ready to et Lin Jia.
He followed the GPS and arrived at Lin Jia’s apartnt complex.
Just as he parked, he saw her dragging two suitcases to the roadside, trying to hail a cab.
Yang Yu quickly drove up and stopped in front of her.
Lin Jia instinctively took a step back when she saw the luxury car, then turned to walk away with her luggage.
Yang Yu stepped out of the car and called out, “Hey! We et again. Rember ?”
