Chapter 54 Ti to Show Off My Acting Skills

Riding his bicycle, Wang Cheng was lost in his fantasies—dreaming about marrying Lan Yuxi, becoming a rich and powerful elite, standing at the pinnacle of life, and trampling Qi Lin under his feet.

He had no idea that a group of small-ti gangsters was waiting for him just ahead in an alley. The mont he rode into the alley, a figure suddenly dashed out from the side.

Because the distance was too short, Wang Cheng had no ti to brake.

“Ahhh!”

His bicycle crashed into Chen Shing. Chen Shing let out a dramatic scream, flew backward, rolled across the ground for more than ten feet, and finally ca to a stop.

Wang Cheng: “…”

What the hell? This is just a bicycle, not a car.

How could he possibly send soone flying like that? Was this guy acting or what?

Stopping his bicycle, Wang Cheng walked over, trying to help the guy up.

“Hey, man, are you okay?”

But Chen Shing had no intention of getting up. Instead, he clutched his leg and wailed.

“Ahhh! You broke my leg! If you don’t give at least 10,000 yuan today, you’re not leaving!”

“10,000 yuan!”

Wang Cheng was so shocked he laughed out loud. He imdiately realized what was happening—this guy was clearly trying to scam him.

“Dude, you ran into my bike, not the other way around! This isn’t my fault at all. Why should I pay you?”

“I’m being nice just by helping you up. Forget 10,000 yuan—I wouldn’t even give you a single coin!”

Wang Cheng scoffed and cursed at the scamr in his mind. Not wanting to waste ti, he turned around and got back on his bike, ready to leave.

“Hey! Can soone help ? This guy hit , refuses to apologize, won’t pay compensation, and now he’s trying to run away! Everyone, co and judge this!”

Seeing Wang Cheng trying to escape, Chen Shing imdiately shouted at the top of his lungs.

As luck would have it, five or six more thuggish-looking guys suddenly appeared in the alley.

“Kid, you think you’re tough? You hit soone and won’t take responsibility? Where’s your sense of morality?”

“Yeah, we all saw what you did. Where do you think you’re going?”

“Listen, bro, this kind of behavior is unacceptable. Just take the guy to a hospital for a check-up.”

Before he knew it, Wang Cheng was surrounded. The gangsters started lecturing him like they were so sort of ethical committee.

“Are you blind? He threw himself onto my bike! How is that my fault? And look at him—he doesn’t even have a single scratch! Does he look like soone who needs to go to the hospital?”

Wang Cheng was in a hurry to get to Rose Bay 173 to work for Lan Yuxi’s aunt. He didn’t have ti to deal with these idiots.

“Get out of my way! I’ve got important business!”

He had no patience left, so he shoved one of the gangsters aside.

“Ahhh!”

The guy he pushed stumbled backward, dramatically falling to the ground and rolling several tis.

Wang Cheng: “…”

If these guys weren’t overacting, he’d almost believe he had so hidden martial arts talent.

How else could a light shove send them flying?

“Brothers! Not only is this guy unapologetic, but he’s also violent! We cannot let him go today!”

“He dares to fight back! Boys, let’s teach him a lesson!”

Seeing their friend’s amazing performance, the other thugs couldn’t hold back anymore. Actually, Qi Lin had never told them to beat up Wang Cheng.

But they were already annoyed—Wang Cheng had a handso face, and they were jealous. They really wanted to ss up that pretty-boy face.

Just like how Wang Cheng envied Qi Lin and tried to humiliate him, now these guys envied Wang Cheng and wanted to beat him up.

It’s only fair, right?

“W-What are you guys doing?”

Seeing them cracking their knuckles and rolling their wrists, Wang Cheng finally panicked and backed away. But there was a wall behind him—he had nowhere to run.

“Ahhh!”

A few seconds later, his screams echoed through the alley.

_____

Lan Yuxi’s diary had already ntioned the exact location of her aunt’s restaurant. Qi Lin parked his car far from Jianghan Restaurant to avoid drawing attention. Then, he pulled out a makeup kit he had just bought and began his transformation.

Since he and Wang Cheng were about the sa age, had similar skin tones, and were both around 1.8 ters tall, there was no need for any complicated disguise techniques.

In just a few minutes, Qi Lin put down the makeup tools. Staring into the mirror, he saw an exact replica of Wang Cheng staring back at him. Satisfied, he stepped out of the car and headed toward the restaurant.

“Lan Yuxi’s aunt must be pretty loaded—this restaurant isn’t small at all.”

Qi Lin clicked his tongue as he admired the three-story Jianghan Restaurant, which had a strong traditional Chinese aesthetic. The South Lake Rose Bay area was one of the wealthier districts in Jianghan City.

Even in 2002, renting or buying a building here would have been expensive.

“Sir, what would you like to eat?”

As soon as he walked through the entrance, a young female server with delicate features approached him with a friendly smile. The mont Qi Lin saw the first person in the restaurant, he knew—it was ti for him to put on a show.

“Hey there, gorgeous. I’m not here for food. Lan Yuxi sent —I’m here for the job. Can you get your boss for ?”

‘Wang Cheng’ gave the server a suggestive once-over, his gaze full of sleaziness. Imdiately, the server’s smile disappeared, and she frowned slightly.

This young man looked about her age, but he gave off an annoyingly pervy vibe.

Why would the boss hire soone like this?

“Fine, wait here.”

Even though her first impression of ‘Wang Cheng’ wasn’t great, she still went to call the boss.
