Villain Ch 1391. Buy And Talk

In Hell's Gate, the city of Ront was bustling with activity. The market district was packed, a lively mix of NPC rchants calling out their wares and player-run stalls displaying rare items, potions, weapons, and gear. The air was filled with the sounds of haggling, spell effects flickering in the distance, and the occasional brawl breaking out between players who didn't know how to take a loss.

Elio, Noah, and Jas walked through the chaos, looking relaxed as they casually browsed through the stalls.

But they weren't really here for shopping.

Their actual goal? Finding Darren and Liam.

Jas exhaled, glancing at the row of player-run stalls. "It's still too early. I don't think they're online yet."

Noah nodded, inspecting a random weapon on display. "Yeah, unless they're unemployed or rich guys like us."

Elio, who had been walking slightly ahead, abruptly stopped and turned to them with a deadpan stare. "Ehm. Did you guys forget about ? I'm not a rich guy, but here I am. Online. Playing this ga."

Jas smirked. "Well, excuse , Mr. Guild Leader, but you work remotely. You don't have fixed office hours, unlike normal people."

Elio crossed his arms. "Yeah, but so do Liam and Darren. They actually have jobs, but sotis they're online at work. Not to ntion, it's lunch break, so who knows?"

Jas shrugged. "Fair point."

Noah glanced around the marketplace again. "So, what's our move if they aren't online? Just wait?"

Elio rubbed his chin. "If we don't see them, we'll drop a ssage. But I have a feeling at least one of them will show up."

Jas smirked. "What, you got so sixth sense for when those two log in?"

Elio chuckled. "Nah. Just experience."

They continued strolling through the market, scanning every stall carefully.

And then—

Noah's eyes locked onto a familiar setup. "There."

A small shop near the corner of the district had a very familiar banner:

"Liam's Armory & Darren's Potions – Best Prices, No Refunds"

Jas snorted. "Still using that sa tagline, huh?"

Elio smirked. "Classic Liam."

They approached the stall, and sure enough, Liam was standing behind the counter, adjusting a display of enchanted daggers. His avatar—a tall blacksmith with rugged armor and a massive great axe strapped to his back—looked just as impatient as he did in real life.

Behind him, Darren, dressed in his usual dark robes, was lazily leaning against a stack of crates, half-watching the market while sipping a glowing blue potion.

Elio grinned. "Well, well, look who decided to log in during work hours."

Liam glanced up, smirking. "Look who finally ca to visit instead of just lurking in guild chat."

Darren chuckled, lowering his potion. "So what's this about? You guys never show up just to shop."

Jas, without missing a beat, scoffed. "Excuse you, we are here to shop."

Liam raised an eyebrow. "Oh, really?"

Jas nodded, his expression completely serious. "Absolutely. I need a new dagger. Noah needs so arrows. And Elio…" He turned his head slightly. "What do you need again?"

Elio exhaled, playing along. "Sothing to keep my guild mbers from running off to follow the wrong people."

Liam smirked, shaking his head. "Hah. Good luck with that."

Darren grinned, swirling the glowing potion in his hand. "You sure you're just here to shop? 'Cause it sounds like you're about to start a lecture."

Noah leaned against the stall, inspecting a few arrows on display. "Can't we do both? Buy and talk?"

Liam crossed his arms. "Depends on what you wanna talk about."

Jas picked up a dagger, testing its weight in his palm. "Oh, nothing too crazy. Just, you know… wondering what you two have been up to. Haven't seen you guys around much lately."

Darren chuckled. "Yeah, well… we've been busy."

Elio tilted his head. "Busy, huh?"

Liam glanced at Darren before shrugging. "Sothing like that."

Noah picked up an arrow, inspecting its stats. "Following Sophia around is kind of busy?"

Darren's hand paused slightly before he took another slow sip of his potion. "We follow where the action is."

Jas let out a low whistle. "Ohhh, so Sophia's action now?"

Liam shot him a look. "You know what he ant."

Noah nodded, still studying the arrows. "We do. Just making sure you know what you an."

Liam leaned on the counter, his smirk a little sharper. "Look, we're not stupid, alright? We knew you guys were gonna ask."

Jas grinned. "Good. That makes this easier."

Darren sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Look, it's not that deep, okay? We were just… checking things out. It's not like we signed so unbreakable blood contract with her or anything."

Elio raised an eyebrow. "Could've fooled ."

Liam exhaled. "Yeah, yeah, I get it. It looked bad. But let's just say…" He tapped the counter with his fingers. "We probably won't be following her around as much in the future."

Jas stilled for a second. "Probably?"

Darren smirked. "We might be free agents again soon."

Noah narrowed his eyes slightly. "And by soon you an…?"

Liam shrugged. "Let's just say things got less complicated."

Elio leaned in slightly. "Less complicated, how?"

Darren chuckled. "You ask too many questions, Guild Leader."

Jas smirked. "It's kind of his thing."

Liam glanced at Elio, then at Noah and Jas, before sighing. "Look, we like where we are, but let's just say it's not the best situation. If we do switch sides, you'll know soon enough."

Noah smirked slightly. "Sounds like you guys are already making that decision."

Darren just smiled but said nothing.

Elio exchanged a quick glance with Jas and Noah. It wasn't enough. So they decided to push more.

Jas leaned against the stall, casually flipping a dagger between his fingers. "You know Sophia went to the Hell's Gate event, right? Couple days ago."

Liam barely looked up. "Of course. She bragged about it all over the forum."

Darren snorted. "Yeah. And then got shot down by the staff when she tried to make it sound like she was personally invited."

Jas and Noah held back chuckles.

Darren grinned. "It was hilarious."
