Villain Ch 1090. Player Contest

Zoe laughed. "Sure, sure. We'll see how long that lasts."

"Alright, let's not waste any more ti," Alice said. "We'll head to the Abyssal Rift and focus purely on grinding EXP. No distractions, no chasing loot. Just pure combat."

Shea smiled nervously. "It'll be tough, but we've done it before. We'll just have to stay on our toes."

Bella nodded. "Exactly. Let's stick together and keep an eye out for traps."

Before the group left for their next grind session in the Abyssal Rift, Allen held up a hand. "Wait, before we head out, I want to check out the market real quick. And I could use a bathroom break, grab a drink."

The girls turned to him, nodding.

Zoe shrugged. "Fair enough. It's gonna be a long grind session. We should all take a quick break before we dive in."

Shea glanced at the others and smiled. "How about we et back here in fifteen minutes? That should give everyone enough ti to get what they need."

Vivian stretched her wings, her smile lazy. "Fifteen minutes sounds good. I'm gonna grab so coffee in the anti."

Jane, who had fully recovered from her earlier sulking, flashed a grin. "I could use a snack. This grind is going to be intense, and I don't want to be starving halfway through."

Allen nodded. "Alright, fifteen minutes then. We'll et back here at the Cursed Crypts and head straight to the Abyssal Rift after that."

With the plan agreed upon, everyone scattered, each heading off to take care of their own errands. Allen activated his disguise as his assassin persona.

He teleported to Ront City. The bustling streets were crowded with players and NPCs alike. Allen kept a low profile as he weaved through the crowd, his hood pulled up to cover most of his face.

As he approached the auction house, he quickly checked his inventory. He had a few items to offload—specifically, the Cursed Priest's Whip and the Dark Ritual To, two pieces of equipnt he just got and he knew would attract attention. They were rare enough to pique interest.

Allen opened up the auction interface, posting the items with a reasonable starting price. He smirked as he saw that two of his previous listings had already gained new bidders. It wasn't much, but the influx of money would help with future upgrades. He felt a slight pang of guilt, knowing those items would likely sit in soone's inventory unused, but this was part of the ga's economy.

"Easy money I guess," he muttered to himself as he finalized the listings.

Just as he was about to head back, sothing caught his attention. A group of players in the distance, whispering to each other and occasionally glancing his way. The Order of Valiance mbers. Normally, this wouldn't be a problem. However, among the group, Allen spotted soone he recognized. Gil.

The group was smiling and whispering amongst themselves, clearly aware of his presence. Gil, in particular, kept casting glances in his direction. Allen wasn't sure what they were talking about. He didn't want to know either.

He kept his face neutral, casually shifting his weight as if he hadn't noticed them at all. Without drawing attention, he quickly left the auction NPC, heading back to the Cursed Crypts.

Once he was safely away from the market, he let out a breath he didn't realize he was holding. "I don't have ti for this," he muttered. With a few quick taps, he opened a portal and stepped back into the Cursed Crypts.

The dark, eerie atmosphere of the crypts welcod him back. His team hadn't returned yet, so he took the mont to log out. Allen removed his VR headset and leaned back in his chair, stretching out his arms and cracking his neck.

His previous hunt had only taken about an hour and a half, and though it was relatively leisurely for him, he could feel the tension in his shoulders from staying so focused.

He glanced at the clock on his desk. He still had enough ti to grab a drink and reset ntally for what would likely be an intense grind session. Standing up, Allen made his way to the mini-bar in his room, grabbing a cold bottle of water from the fridge. The cool sensation as the water slid down his throat was refreshing.

After finishing the water, he made his way to the bathroom to freshen up, splashing cold water on his face to shake off any lingering tension. He toweled off and walked back to his room, ready to dive back into the ga.

He reached for his VR headset, but a notification on his phone caught his eye. The screen lit up with a ssage, and Allen, curious, picked it up. He was sure it wasn't from the girls.

Swiping the notification, he unlocked his phone to find an email sitting at the top of his inbox.

It was from the ga staff.

His brow furrowed in surprise. He hadn't been expecting anything official. With growing curiosity, he opened the email and began reading.

"Definitely not Kafra," Allen guessed from the email formality.

He scrolled down and saw the attachnts, five different files, each presumably a detailed story about the Devil Emperor's rise to power.
