Villain Ch 1026. Azura's Jealousy

Azura, who had been silent up until now, finally spoke. "Strenuous night, huh?" she said, her gaze flicking briefly to the girls before settling on Allen. "Sounds like you all had… quite the ti."

There it was again—that flash of jealousy in her eyes, quickly masked by a neutral expression. Azura had always been good at hiding her feelings, but Allen could sense the undercurrent of emotion. She had feelings for him. But she also knew their relationship could never be anything more than familial. It was a complicated situation, one that neither of them had ever really addressed directly.

Allen t her gaze, holding it for a mont before speaking. "Yeah, we had fun," he said, keeping his tone light and casual. "But we're all here now, so let's just enjoy lunch."

The girls began to take their seats around the table. Shea, still in her playful mood, leaned closer to Allen and whispered, "You think Azura is jealous?"

Allen gave a slight nod, whispering back, "Maybe a little. But she knows the deal."

Shea giggled softly. "Poor girl," she said, her tone both sympathetic and teasing. "She's got good taste, though. Can't bla her for that."

Azura watched their exchange with narrowed eyes, her lips pressed into a thin line. She forced a smile when Allen looked her way again, trying to mask her feelings, but he could see right through it. He knew she was struggling to keep her composure, to hide the hurt and jealousy. It wasn't easy for her to see him with the girls, laughing and teasing, so comfortable and close.

She'd always been more reserved, more guarded with her emotions.

Allen decided to steer the conversation to sothing a bit lighter. "So, Azura, Emma," he began, his tone casual, "how was your night? I hope we didn't disturb you with all the noise."

Emma waved her hand dismissively, her expression relaxed. "Don't worry about it," she replied with a grin. "Your bedroom is soundproof, right? Didn't hear a thing."

She exhaled softly, glancing sideways at Azura. "But yeah, soone couldn't sleep last night and decided to crash in my room," she added, her voice laced with a mix of amusent and mild annoyance. "She was online all night long, though, since I couldn't hold my sleepiness."

Azura's cheeks flushed slightly, her expression turning defensive. "I just… needed so company," she said, her voice quieter, almost a mumble. "It was… too quiet in my room."

Allen's eyes softened as he looked at Azura, noticing for the first ti the faint dark circles under her eyes. She looked tired, like she hadn't slept much at all. He knew how hard it must be for her to see him with the girls, knowing she couldn't be a part of it. He hated that he might have caused her discomfort.

He leaned forward slightly, his voice gentle as he asked, "Are you okay? You seem… off today."

Azura forced another smile, waving off his concern with a small, dismissive gesture. "I'm okay," she said, though her voice wavered slightly, betraying her true feelings. "It's fine. I just… couldn't sleep. It happens sotis."

But even as she spoke, her gaze drifted to the girls around him, a flicker of sothing unreadable in her eyes—perhaps a mix of envy and longing. She glanced back at Allen, and that's when she noticed it, the tip of a bandage peeking out from the collar of his sweater.

Her brows furrowed slightly, her mind racing. This was the first ti she'd seen Allen wear a sweater like that, especially during the middle of the day. It wasn't particularly hot, but it wasn't cold either. Wearing a sweater seed a bit odd for him, especially since he usually preferred more casual, comfortable clothing around the house.

'Unless…' she thought, her mind piecing together the clues. She imagined what might have happened last night—the rough intimacy, the wild abandon. Her thoughts filled with images of the girls leaving marks on him, bites and scratches. Her cheeks flushed involuntarily, and she quickly looked away, trying to push those thoughts aside. She shouldn't be thinking about him like that, not in that way.

But it was hard not to when the evidence was right in front of her.

Allen caught her staring and followed her gaze down to the edge of the bandage on his neck. He sighed inwardly, realizing that she might have put two and two together. He had hoped to keep things discreet, but Azura was sharp, always had been.

"Azura…" he began, but she quickly cut him off, her voice steady though a bit strained. "It's---"

"It's fine, Allen," she interrupted, more firmly this ti. "I'm not a child. I know you're… close with them," she added, glancing around the table at the girls who were now chatting amongst themselves.

Emma said with a casual shrug, "You were just born in the wrong family, I guess." Her tone was nonchalant, almost joking. But it was a sharp comnt, and though she might not have ant it to sting, it pierced right through Azura's heart.

Allen imdiately frowned at Emma's comnt. He knew his sister didn't an any harm—Emma was always straightforward, never one to beat around the bush. But still, her words cut deeper than she realized. "Emma," he said softly but firmly, his eyes narrowing slightly as he gave her a pointed look. It was a reminder not to rub salt in Azura's wound.

Emma raised her hands in mock surrender, her eyes wide with a mixture of surprise and a touch of guilt. "Okay, okay," she said quickly, trying to backtrack. "I didn't an anything by it. I just ant… well, you know what I ant." She trailed off, realizing she wasn't helping. "Let's just enjoy our lunch, okay?" she announced, trying to change the subject and lighten the mood.

There was a mont of awkward silence as everyone shifted uncomfortably in their seats. Allen sighed inwardly, hating the tension that had crept into what should have been a relaxing al. He glanced over at Azura, who was staring down at her plate, her expression unreadable. He could tell she was hurt, but she was trying to hide it, trying to keep herself composed.
