I looked at my opponent who was wielding a mace in his hand.

I'm sure many would run away simply at his sight, but I had a duty to fulfill.

The duty to protect the girl I like. This was the responsibility I had to carry for being a man.

Nu Zian rolled his index finger and offered: "Co, I'll let you have the first attack."

I, however, didn't move.

My motive was to defend, not to attack.

My master has taught that defending is easier than attacking.

Also, with my defensive skill, predictive dodge, I was sure to defend and stall ti till my teammates escaped.

Predictive Dodge was a technique that my master has been teaching since I entered his peak.

It was to leave your body light and remain calm without any unnecessary thought.

Just focus on your opponent, however, don't think about his next move, and leave all of your movents to instincts.

My senses have beco a lot sharper than when I started and I was confident in my skill.

Nu Zian, seeing that I wasn't taking up his offer, turned a little angry as his lips twitched in annoyance:

"You really want to make the first move? I promise you'll regret doing this."

Saying that Nu Zian lifted up his mace and swirled it over his head before suddenly launching himself at a terrifying speed toward .

A small crater appeared at the spot he was standing on due to the force this launch generated.

Fast!

Instantly this word flashed in my mind before I noticed him in front of , striking to my right with his mace.

My body instantly reacted, turning by taking my right leg back and parrying his mace with my sword.

Boom!

I was sent flying by the sheer force of his attack before I struck on a boulder.

It was then I realized: "I... only trained with... swords and spears..."

I had never had an opponent who used a mace, thus I didn't know that I wouldn't be able to parry a mace due to the force it carried in its strike.

Even though I could predict his attack with my predictive dodge, I couldn't stop it due to my insufficient strength.

Cough!

I coughed up a mouthful of blood due to the impact of my body colliding with the boulder.

I suddenly began to feel dizzy in my head as I lost my balance and fell to my knees, not having any strength in my body.

"Qin Feng!!" I then heard senior sister Zhu Ling's voice, calling my na in worry.

It was similar to when I would be hurt in my spar and Senior Sister Zhu Ling would worry about .

My sight was blurry, however, I could see the worry on Senior Sister Zhu Ling's face.

"Junior Zhu Ling, you need to retreat, hurry." Qi Nao yelled.

It was because Nu Zian had ignored Qin Feng and once again began walking towards her.

"Hehe Little girl, no need to worry about him. Co, play with this big brother." Nu Zian said playfully with a sinister smile.

He then said to his underling who was fighting her: "You go and finish that boy. I'll take over here."

His underling nodded and left to finish , who couldn't even stand properly,

I struggled with all that had left in to just stand up.

My hands shivered as I held my sword against him.

At this mont, A shout resounded in my ears: "AArgh!"

Instantly everyone looked at the source of this voice.

A demonic cultivator was just now sliced in two.

And it was done by none other than the genius of our sect, Wang Ling Er.

She then looked towards and rushed to help.

The one who was approaching to finish directed his attention to her instead.

The mont he turned his attention to her and showed his back, I knew that this was my chance.

I gathered all the strength I could muster and charged at him before thrusting my sword into his back.

"Argh!... you..." He looked at with wide eyes, surprised to see act this quickly despite my condition.

I retrieved my sword from his body as he fell to the ground, becoming a corpse.

I fell to my knee, unable to continue standing.

This had taken a toll on my body.

"Aaaa, Go away!"

I suddenly heard Senior Sister Zhu Ling's scream.

Instantly my gaze went in her direction.

Nu Zian was deflecting her attacks with ease and continued to get close to her.

"No Senior Sister."

She needed help. If Nu Zian were to seriously fight her, he would instantly kill her.

I couldn't let that happen.

Right at this mont, I felt a hand on my shoulder.

It was Wang Ling Er.

She displayed two talismans in her hand and spoke:

"I have two teleportation talismans. I'll give you one. You should escape."

Teleportation talismans were a lot expensive and no ordinary disciple of a sect could afford one.

It must've been given to her by her master for tis of ergency.

I, however, refused her help.

Shaking my head, I requested:

"Please help my senior Sister. She needs the most help right now."

She nodded in understanding and said: "Alright. I'll try."

She instantly took out two more talismans from her space ring, however, they weren't similar to the teleportation talismans.

She channeled her lower qi in those talismans as suddenly a dragon of ice and dragon made of flas erupted out of the talismans.

Nu Zian's attention was instantly grabbed by two dragons.

"Attack talismans?"

He instantly recognized the dragons.

Wang Ling Er pointed her finger at him and muttered: "Go!"

The Dragons instantly moved towards him at a fast speed, roaring loudly.

However, Nu Zian didn't have any expression of fear on his face.

He took out two talismans and instantly activated them.

A shield wall of fire and ice instantly appeared in front of him.

"Defence talismans?"

This ti it was Wang Ling Er who recognized the talismans.

Boom!

The Dragons collided with the wall of fire and ice, assimilating into each other before dissipating.

This was the drawback of talismans. They could be countered with talismans.
