"Why didn’t you say the doctor was so young?"

"You never asked," Liu Zi said with a shrug, admitting he hadn’t even thought about it. Seeing the young girl’s expression change, he thought she was about to lose her temper again and quickly added, "No, no, don’t! We’re here to see a doctor... Can we please finish the appointnt before leaving?"

"Who said I was leaving?" As soon as the girl finished speaking, she sat down on the consultation stool, clearly indicating she had no intention of going anywhere. Her gaze was fixed on Wang Jian, and she smiled as she said, "I’ve never seen such a handso doctor before. I want him to treat ."

Liu Zi glanced at Wang Jian, speechless. This was the first ti he’d ever heard of soone choosing a doctor based on their looks.

Wang Jian and Ren Yu exchanged a look but said nothing. They were just relieved Liu Zi hadn’t seen what had happened a mont ago. As for whether the girl got treated or argued with Liu Zi, neither of them could be bothered to get involved.

Wang Jian then walked to the consultation desk, turned on the computer, and asked, "Do you have your health insurance card?"

"I don’t have one..."

"You don’t?" Wang Jian glanced at the girl, then at Liu Zi. Seeing Liu Zi nod, he continued, "Na?"

"Wen Ya."

"Age?"

"Nineteen."

"High school student?"

Wen Ya nodded and whispered, "Not anymore, technically. I just finished my college entrance exams."

Wang Jian looked up at her. This girl is only nineteen, much younger than I expected. Even Ren Yu looked surprised. After all, this girl in gothic attire doesn’t just have mature makeup; her bust is so large she hardly looks her age... Ren Yu glanced down at herself. She was usually very confident in her own figure, but now she couldn’t help but feel a bit inadequate. When it ca to her face, however, her confidence returned. There was simply no comparison.

"Alright, I’ve created your file. Regarding your issue... although Liu Zi already told a little, I still need to conduct my own examination."

"Right here?" Wen Ya was taken aback. Am I supposed to undress here? She found it strange, but since everyone present was dical staff, she only hesitated for a mont before standing up and starting to remove her skirt.

This startled Wang Jian, who quickly stopped her. "That’s not what I ant. I just need to understand your condition first. Have you heard of pulse diagnosis in Chinese dicine?"

"Oh, oh, I see! I thought..." Wen Ya’s face flushed. She had jumped to conclusions, knowing that such examinations often required undressing. She hadn’t expected to make a fool of herself.

Having encountered similar situations with other patients before, Wang Jian didn’t react and even offered a few words to comfort her. Ren Yu, on the other hand, almost burst out laughing. If Liu Zi hadn’t been there, she probably would have.

Liu Zi, who had been on his phone, couldn’t help but tease his girlfriend. "Exactly. Why are you overthinking it? He’s a Chinese dicine practitioner, so of course he starts by taking your pulse."

"Just play with your phone and mind your own business," Wen Ya snapped, glaring at him with her cheeks still red. She genuinely hadn’t known, and Liu Zi’s attitude annoyed her. She shot him a dismissive look and retorted, "You’re not the doctor, so shut your mouth."

The young girl had quite a temper. For soone so young, she certainly didn’t hold back when scolding soone.

"Alright, alright, I’ll shut up," Liu Zi replied. His phone was buzzing insistently with ssages, which gave him a convenient escape. If it wasn’t getting so hot outside, he’d have gone out to reply. The ssages were from a woman in the neighboring village, and chatting with her in this room felt a bit risky.

"Try not to get upset. Your emotions can disrupt the pulse reading. Focus now," Wang Jian said, waving a hand in front of Wen Ya’s face to get her attention. "Extend your arm and place it here on this soft pillow."

The girl awkwardly extended her hand, unsure how to position it. It was obvious to Wang Jian that she had never seen a Chinese dicine practitioner before. Movies and TV shows featuring Chinese dicine were becoming rarer, as were people who believed in it or practiced it. Besides, a girl her age was probably watching idol dramas with young heartthrobs. It was rare to see a realistic depiction of a Chinese dicine diagnosis on television, so he wasn’t surprised by her unfamiliarity.

He patiently instructed her, "Relax. Don’t think about anything. Just rest your hand here and try to be calm."

"If you’re nervous, you can talk to ," Wang Jian said with a smile. "Feel free to say whatever is on your mind. There are only four of us here—two doctors and your boyfriend. There’s no need to hold back."

"It’s nothing special, really," Wen Ya said. "I haven’t been feeling well recently. Down there... it’s a little itchy, and a small bump has appeared. I looked it up online, and it really looks like one of *those* diseases."

"I see."

Wen Ya didn’t specify the disease, but Wang Jian understood. He’d bet anything that she and Liu Zi had slept together. Why else would her mind jump to that conclusion? Sex education was still lacking, and people tended to be secretive about the topic, which led so girls to imagine the worst.

Wang Jian didn’t detect anything unusual in her pulse. The girl was healthy, aside from so internal inflammation from staying up late. There were no major issues. He imdiately ruled out any serious diseases. Many things could cause itching down there; it wasn’t necessarily just one thing.

So Wang Jian spoke up, "Try not to worry for now. First, may I ask how long you and Liu Zi have known each other?"

"Uh... what does that have to do with my diagnosis?"

Wen Ya was puzzled, but before Wang Jian could explain, Liu Zi chid in. Putting down his phone, he said to Wang Jian with a proud smirk, "We t online. Last week was our first ti eting in person." He finished by raising his eyebrows at Wang Jian, the boastfulness of hooking up with a younger girl written all over his face.

"You have such a big mouth," Wen Ya muttered, rolling her eyes. She disliked his bragging, but since he was telling the truth, she simply nodded. "But... he’s right."

Wang Jian also disapproved of Liu Zi’s behavior, feeling a deep sense of contempt. But after so many years as a doctor, he had his emotions well under control, and his expression remained neutral. Only a subtle glint in his eyes betrayed his feelings as he looked at Liu Zi.

Hearing their answers, Wang Jian nodded and asked quietly, "Have you ever been intimate with a man before?"

Wen Ya was speechless and didn’t answer.

Wang Jian had to explain, "This question might be a bit blunt, but it’s relevant to the diagnosis. I hope you can understand."

Even Ren Yu chid in to help. A question like this coming from another woman was much better than from Wang Jian.

Hearing Ren Yu’s encouragent, Wen Ya spoke directly. "No. I’ve had boyfriends before, but the most we ever did was kiss. Nothing else."

"I see."

Wang Jian nodded. Just as he was about to continue, he saw Liu Zi’s expression darken. Liu Zi suddenly spoke up, "What are you talking about? It wasn’t your first ti with , so how can you claim you’ve never been with anyone else?"

The sudden, dramatic accusation left Wang Jian stunned. He couldn’t help but turn to look at the young woman before him. Judging by her appearance alone, he really couldn’t be sure. Could what Liu Zi said be true?

But seeing Wen Ya’s face change, looking like she was about to explode, Wang Jian quickly stood up. At a ti like this, the patient’s personal drama was none of his business. The top priority was keeping her calm for the diagnosis.

Wang Jian shot Ren Yu a look, signaling her to handle Wen Ya, while he went straight over and pulled Liu Zi out of the room.

"Weren’t you the one who brought her here for treatnt? Why are you suddenly bringing this up and causing trouble? Do you want to treat her or not?" Wang Jian asked as he dragged Liu Zi out the door. It was only his good temper that kept him from cursing. "She’s just a young girl who’s been intimate with you. Why do you have to care so much about sothing like that?"

Liu Zi shrugged and said with a bitter smile, "I didn’t want to, but I can’t stand her lying. You don’t know, Jian. This girl told it was her first ti, but there was no blood after we did it. You really expect to just let her keep lying?"

"You can’t look at it like that."

"Why not?"

"You can’t judge it based on that. For many won, the hyn can break from strenuous physical activity, so a lack of bleeding doesn’t an it wasn’t her first ti. Furthermore, there are so special cases where a woman’s hyn might never break because the tissue is just that elastic. If it’s particularly resilient, it might never tear."
