"Look, he's playing the ga in the boss's office!"
"My god, this is unbelievable, this guy is so lucky!"
"I think he just went out to run an errand for the boss, right?"
"He went to buy Final Fantasy VII Remake."
Outside Myron Case's office, a group of people watched as one of his employees was engrossed in playing a ga. This quickly sparked curiosity among other employees, and they all started gathering around.
However, because the TV screen was facing away from them, they couldn't see the ga's visuals.
"Huh?! What did you say? Final Fantasy VII Remake?"
"Yep, I was planning to play it after work."
...
...
"Oh my god, I want to play too! Why does this guy get to play Final Fantasy VII Remake right here?"
"If only I could switch places with him, I'd do anything!"
Once the crowd realized what ga the employee was playing, their excitent grew even more.
Employees at Micfo, especially those in the tech sector, were often at the forefront of technology. Many of them had started their careers in electronics, programming, and software, all sparked by an interest in video gas.
So even once aspired to be ga developers themselves.
However, as ti passed and reality set in, they had to abandon their dreams of making gas and focus on earning money.
Still, their enthusiasm for gaming remained strong.
At least half of them had played Final Fantasy VII at so point.
And now, nearly everyone who had played it was absolutely passionate about it.
They craned their necks, trying to catch a glimpse of the ga screen in the office, not caring anymore about the fact that their boss was watching them.
Myron Case had always had a friendly reputation among his employees, which is why he could afford to casually observe the employee playing the ga.
Myron Case also noticed this scene.
Looking through the glass wall of his office, seeing his employees so eager stirred sothing in him.
Was this the charm of video gas?
At least so many of his employees had such a deep passion for video gas.
Yet... he didn't feel anything about it.
He began to feel sowhat lost.
Those people looked so happy and joyful, all because they were playing a video ga.
But he felt nothing. Was he really out of sync with this era?
No, his perspective was ahead of the tis, in tune with the popular culture of this era.
It's just that video gas weren't really his thing.
"You, co with , bring the ga console out here."
At that mont, the employee who had been playing Final Fantasy VII Remake reached the actual gaplay part. Cloud jumped off the train in stunning high-definition, facing soldiers from Shinra.
That familiar feeling returned, deeply moving the employee.
But as soon as he heard his boss's voice, he quickly snapped back to reality.
"Boss? What's going on...?"
"Didn't you see how many people outside are eager to see the ga? Let them see it too."
Only then did the employee realize how many people were gathered outside the office, which surprised him.
At the sa ti, he felt excited.
So there were so many ga lovers at the company, and it seed like many of them also loved Final Fantasy VII.
He wasn't alone—perhaps he'd find more friends with similar interests!
"Alright!"
The employee quickly powered off the ga console and unplugged it.
"Hey, hey, wait—did you just unplug it?"
"Oh no! The boss is going to be mad! Quick, get back to your workstations!"
The crowd beca flustered, seeing Myron Case preparing to co out. They quickly ran back to their desks, sat down straight, trying to look busy.
Then, Myron Case and the employee walked out of the office together.
Myron Case silently scanned the employees in the office.
They looked like they were trying to get back to work, but he still noticed that so people were glancing over at him.
It wasn't because they were worried about being reprimanded.
They were still curious about his reaction as their boss.
"Alright, put down what you're working on," Myron Case said in a low voice.
Upon hearing this, the employees imdiately stretched their necks out from their desks.
So even stood up, staring at their boss.
"You guys probably aren't in the mood to work today. The release of Final Fantasy VII Remake has gotten you all excited, hasn't it?"
"Uh... Boss, I have to admit, I wanted to beco a programr because of Final Fantasy VII."
At that mont, one employee bravely stood up, raising his hand to sincerely share his thoughts.
"Boss, too!"
Another employee stood up and raised his hand.
One, two, three.
Myron Case didn't say much. He just turned to look at the employee who had brought the ga console out.
Then, he turned to the rest of the employees.
"All of you who want to watch the ga, follow him to the broadcasting room and watch properly. I'll give you all a break today. I imagine, even if I didn't, you wouldn't want to work right now."
"Long live the boss!"
"Long live the boss!"
The employees cheered.
The charm of video gas...
Watching them cheer, Myron Case was reminded of the reaction of players at the Gastar Carnival last year.
They were so excited, it was as if they were experiencing the happiest mont of their lives. When they saw the confirmation for Final Fantasy VII Remake, they scread so loudly, it felt like the entire carnival would collapse. That wasn't an exaggeration.
Being in that atmosphere, Myron Case had felt a bit out of place.
Now... he suddenly wanted to seriously play a ga. He wanted to imrse himself in that atmosphere too.
It felt strange.
Even though he had disliked video gas because of how they had impacted him in the past, and later looked down on them, seeing the enthusiasm of the people around him now, he couldn't help but feel tempted. He wanted to experience the sa passion for gas that they had.
It wasn't just about video gas—it was about life, about the passion for the world.
So, at least from now on, he decided to try to fit in as much as he could.
He would enjoy video gas properly.
He felt like he should buy a Gastar console.
