[KAWAI]
Everyone including the royals felt the shift in the Kawai air. The day that had begun so well had drifted into an afternoon so tense, one that scread bloody murder for the enemies of Kawai.
It was the kind of air that many would be scared of; and even as the warriors who the king had chosen made their way to the council room, they knew that this was sothing else.
For the first ti, it was like everything had gone back to normal.
The kind of normal that had always lingered long before the king had ever t the queen of hearts, Liana Nakamura Hinata.
The normal that scared the hell out of the people of Kawai, only that this ti, instead of being scared, the people of Kawai were hopeful.
The stench of warriors and their deadly aura was too much for the regulars of Kawai and yet even then, they didn’t take a run for it like they would have in any other day.
It had been a different change and most of the warriors were glad for this, the sector of the kingdom had always remained a top priority while the warriors made sure to man the kingdom.
The other royal high guards made their way to the council room, their minds filled with things that no one had ever thought would be a reality. Everything seed okay; too okay which was weirdly comforting at the sa ti.
But the one thing that made them realize the balance was titled was the Lycan Chief of Kawai.
"What is happening?" the Lycans whispered along the Kawai hallways as the majestic Lycan Chief made his way to the council room.
He was alone, given the Lycan prince and the other royals had already gone earlier. He was majestic, in his royal Lycan Chief wear. Each step he made was calculated one, oozed so much confidence and the stench of death that it was almost suffocating.
His wear was no longer that of a Kawai oga, and frankly, if soone were to say that this man right here was the royal oga, there would be so many doubts. He looked quite the opposite of what they had seen the past few days.
He looked like he had always been. The cruelest Lycan Chief to ever live. The one man who scread death with just a glance. He looked like the mad king, only that he didn’t have the kind of power that the mad king had.
But the aura—
It was as deadly as the mad king’s.
"War. Vengeance. That is obvious, isn’t it?" Kiyoi, the royal chef, whispered as he looked up at the Lycan chief from the kitchens. The man was too dangerous and he was every Kawai enemy’s nightmare.
He looked like he could kill soone for just looking at him, yet deep beneath the clothes he was wearing, were pretty loud marks stamped by the Lycan prince of Kawai.
They were the reminder that even though they were doing this, everyone would do well to rember that the man, the Chief, belonged to and would always be, the Lycan prince’s greatest desire.
"Holy shit," the whispers continued, and the Lycans stood in the hallways and stood at attention, their heads bowed in respect as the emotionless, cold Lycan Chief made his way to the council room.
He reeked of power; so much power that it was suffocating to ever be around him. He looked like he was about to bring an entire colony to the ground and never have to face the consequences.
Hell, he also looked like the barbarian that the realm had always feared and that was also what they all needed to relate to what Kiyoi had just said.
"His scent is not there," one of the Lycan guards whispered and that earned the first reaction from the Lycan Chief.
He didn’t say anything, but he turned to look at the warrior who had just spoken, and Igor Konstantin smirked at the warrior, a chilling sinister smirk that sent shivers down the spine of the high guard.
Here they were on the sa side, but then this was a war and they won every war, the Lycan Chief of Kawai was always going to be the leader of the Kawai army. He was who they answered to, and he was who they respected the most.
He was the enforcer who commanded that army despite the fact that he always spent more ti away from the palace. Igor Konstantin was the kind of power that no regular wanted to associate with.
Here and now, he wasn’t just the Lycan prince’s mate. He was the barbarian the realm had long known. He was the Lycan Chief that had kept Kawai safe. He was what Kawai had gotten used to, long before the understanding of his true nature had co to light.
And this scared the Lycans.
They had never thought anyone would be crazy enough to make the shift like this and that worried and excited them at the sa ti.
The danger of what was to co was staring at them and no matter how this went on, there was no denying that life was agreeable to change for the better, or maybe for the worse.
"Sire," the high guard greeted when he realized the chief’s eyes on him hadn’t moved.
He could feel the states despite the fact that his head was viewed. It was intense, and the warriors at the door of the council room were scared of the man who was walking in. They horrified them and that was okay.
"Tsk," was all Konstantin let out as he stepped forward to walk through the open doors.
He could feel the way the warriors released and how they let out breaths of relief. It made Kosta feel a certain type of way and that was what he was leading towards.
Today was not just about the oga of Kawai.
Today was about Kawai and no one would compromise that.
"All rise for His Royal Highness, the Prince Consort, Chief Igor Konstantin-Hinata!!"
The high guard who was standing by the door announced loudly, and low gasps were hard as they looked at the Lycan Chief of Kawai standing there, waiting for the announcer to finish so he could walk in.
The Lycan Chief’s presence had always been announced, so this was not surprising for Konstantin. However, the na that had been made known to the people of Kawai was different. And for a mont, Igor felt shivers down his spine.
He had never thought too much about what his title would ever be after being mated to Tamiko, but this right here was different. It made him feel a lot of things and he could feel himself almost falter.
The title he had been given was different and it scared him for the first ti in so long. It was one thing to be mated to the young prince but another to have the Hinata na attached to his.
That could only an one thing.
The Lycan Chief was no longer just a Lycan Chief.
He was one of the most powerful people in Kawai even without his Chief title and that was sothing that he had to learn to get used to.
’Princess... It’s okay,’ Kosta heard Tamiko’s voice in his head, making him snap back to life, focusing on the door that was open for him, and the warriors who were standing still, waiting for him to push forward.
He could decide to stay there for the rest of the day and no one would say shit to him.
’Take your ti, baby. As much ti as you need. We’re not going anywhere. I’m not going anywhere, my precious,’ Tamiko’s soothing voice ca through again.
Kosta felt relieved, as he looked ahead, and saw his Erasthai standing a few feet away from him, a smile on his face, but more than that smile, was pride; pure pride for the man who had always been one of the protectors of Kawai.
He was letting Kosta know that this was not going to be hard with the both of them. He was reminding Kosta that they were on the sa side and that nothing would ever stop them.
He was letting Kosta co to him, because he was never going to leave his Erasthai’s side.
’Krushka,’ Kosta breathed in the mind links, his green eyes making contact with Tamiko’s dark ones as he lifted his foot and made the first step inside the council room.
The Lycan Chief hadn’t noticed yet, but everyone in the council room had stood up for him in respect, save for the King and the Lycan Lord, Sadako.
It was more than anyone would have anticipated and with Tamiko nodding at him, Kosta was sure this was a whole different world. Kosta kept eye contact with Tamiko, even when Tamiko reached out his hand so Kosta could entwine with the prince’s.
It was the most beautiful sight that the warriors and even the warlord-counciln had seen and the smiling king was the reminder that everything would be alright.
"At ease, and bow for His Royal Highness, the Prince Consort, Chief Igor Konstantin-Hinata," the high guard from before announced, and heads bent for Igor. This ti, the only ones who didn’t bow were the king and the two Lycan Lords.
Everyone else was heads-down; and Tamiko, he was just glad to hear Kosta here. So, when the heads were respectfully bowed, Tamiko turned to his Erasthai, and cupped his head with his hands, before kissing him softly and in reassurance.
"My beautiful Erasthai, MY Kosta," Tamiko acknowledged with pride, and this ti, it wasn’t in Kosta’s head.
Everyone had heard him.
Kosta felt his knees almost give out from the pride he was feeling.
And Tamiko—
He was the happiest of them all.
