"—That I love you, more than anyone else in the world," Tamiko began and Kosta stared in shock.

The first al they had shared was when Tamiko had been running away from Grealor, and had found himself in the other pack. It had been a ti when Kosta had fallen head first for Tamiko and had been so hopeless.

The food they had shared was just a ss, or so Kosta thought, but Tamiko loved it. He had loved the fact that soone other than Danny was trying to warm their way into his life. Tamiko had been skeptical.

He had been the boy who couldn’t trust anyone beyond Daniel Belova and rightly so.

But that day, with Kosta, he had let his guard down, even just for a mont he had let himself be in Kosta’s embrace and he had felt that the Lycan barbarian who always killed everything in his wake.

He had read about Kosta at the ti and for a mont then, he had wished that fate would use Kosta to end his life. But at the sa ti, he had felt sothing that he never felt before.

Kosta had touched him like no one else had ever touched him, and the prince had lived in that mont for the longest ti.

Now, here they were in their ho, in what was ant for them and Tamiko was bringing up the first ti he had known he would truly trust Kosta with all of him.

"I didn’t... I," Kosta struggled to form words as he got emotional.

He was hurriedly wiping his tears as he loved across the table. A part of him was expecting the Lycan Lords and the king to make a mockery of this mont, but instead, they were silently watching.

There was no hint of amusent or even mockery. If anything, they were in honest awe and it got Kosta even more emotional.

Perhaps it was because they had gone through so much in the past month and he hadn’t thought that there would ever co a day when they tried to make soup for the chaos they had endured and caused on their own.

"You don’t have to say anything, my precious. I’ll be better. I’ll do right by you, always," Tamiko promised and Kosta just stared softly like this was the first ti he was seeing Tamiko again. His eyes were filled with love for the broken prince and he loved it here.

"I love you," Kosta forced out amid his tears and everyone at the table burst out into chuckles as they watched the Lycan Chief be a ss. He was the right ss for the table and they all adored him for it.

If anything, they loved him like family and there was no denying that they would ride for Kosta if that was needed. Hell, they had proven it more than once, right?

"I know, baby. Co on, eat before my rut fucks up whatever is left of my sanity."

Kosta stared at him softly while the servants served them. He looked like he wanted to say sothing, anything, but what would he say when the evening was already perfect like that, right?

"I’m all for grandkids, but don’t make babies you don’t want or aren’t ready for!" King Zaffuto shouted an hour later when Tamiko excused himself from the table.

He knew the way only so much he could control himself around Kosta, and he didn’t want to push the Lycan Chief into sothing that he was ready for.

Expectedly, the Lycan Chief followed him, making everyone groan and sigh like they hadn’t expected that. Well, as if that wasn’t bad enough, they had to deal with the king’s comntary, and his madness too.

"Zaffuto Hinata," Lord Sadako warned.

"What? It’s not like they’re not going to—"

"If you finish that sentence, you’re not getting into this place for a year."

"I just wanted to help."

"Then sit your ass down and clear your palate. That will help a lot of people now."

"Fine. You’re no fun," the king groaned.

"What the fuck?" Danny mouthed as he looked at the servants who just shrugged like this was normal for them. Well, this was not for Danny. He had never thought that the big bad Lycan king of Kawai could be tad by his best friend of all the people.

It was almost an impossibility to even imagine because everyone there knew. They knew them as the worst of the worst. So, it made no sense that the king, the sa ruler of the kingdom, was being controlled by his Lycan lord of a brother.

This right here was insanity and Danny was too shocked to even ask anything else. Instead, he watched as the king and his brother went on bickering like they were kids, which was even more interesting.

While Danny had the displeasure of watching the brothers at the table bicker like their lives depended on it, the two mates were locked up in the prince’s chambers.

The mix of lavender and caral was slowly engulfing the palace and the king wanted to order his people to turn off their senses, he wanted to see how this would go.

He needed the kingdom to rember that the prince was mated to an oga and he wanted them all to understand that Igor Konstantin was the oga who was not to be touched by anyone.

The thought itself was grounds for murder at the hand of the king, which was not sothing that anyone wanted.

"Do you want to go out for a run?" King Zaffuto’s voice interrupted Danny’s endless line of thoughts. He didn’t know what he was supposed to say to that because frankly, he was worried that Tamiko would need him.

He didn’t know why, but he wanted to stick around just in case his brother needed him. Perhaps he was hoping for too much from a man who had finally found his family, but there was not much that would happen.

"No... I’m good," Danny said as he looked at Tamiko’s door.

He knew it was weird standing there and waiting for what he didn’t even know of, but he had to be patient.

He had to be there for Tamiko. It was his only purpose and he had let himself believe that maybe if he was there for Tamiko in the Lycan lands, he would make up for agreeing to leave all the tis that Tamiko had told him to.

He shouldn’t have let that get to him, but then what the fuck was he supposed to do and how was he to deal with that at the mont then.

"He won’t get hurt. Igor knows better than to hurt my little angel," King Zaffuto said as he held Danny’s shoulder. Lord Sadako had excused himself to his chambers and the king was on his way to his, when he ran into Danny.

"I know. I just... what if... what if he needs ? What if he wants to talk and I’m not there? What if all of this is too much for him and he crashes? What if he’s scared, your majesty? What if he wants to do sothing but I can’t?

"What if he feels alone? I made a promise to him. I told him he’d be alright, but what if he isn’t?" Danny asked earnestly. Maybe he was overthinking this, but he needed to be there for Tamiko.

His guilt for the past wasn’t letting him live with the possibility that the kid had an entire army of beasts ready to march when he wanted them to. He had everything and Danny needed to learn to let go.

But was it because of that or was it because he was worried about what Tamiko’s future would be like? But did he even have a reason to?

"You two are really close. I now understand why he wanted you to co along," King Zaffuto said and Danny stared at him, asking what the king was talking about. Maybe it was harmless, but this was the mad king, the most unpredictable man in the realm.

"I don’t understand, Your Majesty," Danny voiced carefully.

"Co with . Sadako will be here if Kaito needs anyone. He also has Sadako’s amulet. My son will be fine and you need to relax," King Zaffuto said with a tone of finality and Danny knew that he wouldn’t be able to say shit right now.

"Where are we going?" Danny asked.

"Sowhere nice," the king said.

Danny didn’t trust him.

And he was right not to.
