AN: I am so sorry, I just had to rest a bit. But I am ready to continue. Please enjoy.

"Nice eting you, Kai Wang," Xiang Yu said with a casual smile, leaning against the side of the vehicle. "Do you mind driving back? It’s too far to walk."

Kai Wang hesitated, his expression uncertain. "But... I can’t do that without authorization," he said, his voice tinged with unease.

Xiang Yu raised an eyebrow, his smirk widening. "I am giving you the authorization," he said, holding up his hand to show the ring on his finger. "As your lord’s husband."

Kai Wang’s eyes widened, his shock evident as he stared at the ring. He opened his mouth to protest, but Xiang Yu cut him off with a wave of his hand. "Hurry up," Xiang Yu said, his tone light but firm. "The sooner you drive, the sooner you can hurry back."

Still unsure, Kai Wang nodded stiffly. He moved to the driver’s side, his movents slow and hesitant. Xiang Yu got into the passenger seat, leaning back comfortably as the engine ca to life. When he noticed Kai Wang still frozen in place, Xiang Yu tilted his head, his tone sharper now. "Hurry up."

Kai Wang snapped out of his daze, quickly getting into the car and starting the engine. The vehicle pulled away from the street, the road stretching ahead as they drove toward the centre of the small city.

Xiang Yu leaned back in his seat, the breeze catching his hair as he stretched his arm out the window, feeling the wind rush through his fingers.

Kai Wang glanced at him several tis, his expression a mix of confusion and disbelief. This was the sa man who had attacked them at the wedding, the sa man who had been a threat.

Yet now, he was sitting in the car with him, relaxed and almost... approachable. It was hard to reconcile the two images.

Soon, they reached the centre of the city, and the car ca to a halt. Xiang Yu opened the door and stepped out, closing it behind him with a casual "Thanks." Just as he was about to walk away, he spotted Da Hei erging from the warehouse, a package in his hands.

Instead of heading ho, Xiang Yu rushed over, calling out, "Da Hei!"

Da Hei’s steps halted at the sound of his na. His serious expression softened when he saw Xiang Yu approaching.

Xiang Yu patted Da Hei’s shoulder, his tone cheerful. "Fancy seeing you here."

Da Hei licked his lips, breaking his stare as he held up the package of seeds. "I went to get more seeds," he said, his voice steady.

"What are you planting?" Xiang Yu asked, his curiosity piqued.

"Just so vegetables," Da Hei replied. "What about you? Where are you headed?"

Xiang Yu tilted his head, a thoughtful expression crossing his face. "I was about to go take a nap," he said, "but I just thought of sothing. Do you know of a mutated plant that can grow rapidly and serve as protection for the city? Sothing... poisonous."

Da Hei frowned, his brow furrowing as he considered the question. "A mutated plant?" he repeated, his voice thoughtful. "There might be so things that I can show you."

Xiang Yu replied, "Sure, sorry to trouble you."

Da Hei’s face lit up the mont Xiang Yu showed interest in his work. His enthusiasm was infectious, his smile wide and genuine as he gestured toward the greenhouse at the far end of the compound.

"This way," he said, his voice brimming with excitent. "I will show you my collection."

Xiang Yu followed, his steps casual but curious. The last greenhouse stood at the edge of the boundary, its skeletal fra draped in curling vines and luminous petals. Inside, the air was thick with the scent of damp earth and the eerie glow of mutated flora, twisting and thriving beyond nature’s intent.

Da Hei moved through the tangled rows, his hands gliding over the curling stems with practised ease. The plants responded to his touch, shifting subtly as if aware of his presence. Xiang Yu followed, his sharp gaze surveying the towering greenery.

"Echofern," Da Hei said, gesturing toward a cluster of translucent, whispering fronds. "It records voices and mimics sounds. Good for deception, but not much use for fortification."

Xiang Yu barely glanced at it before shaking his head. "No," he said. "Not dangerous enough." His boots crunched against the soil as he stepped past it, eyes hungry for sothing grander.

Da Hei nodded, moving deeper into the heart of the greenhouse. He stopped before a series of towering plants, each more formidable than the last.

"Venomthorn Vines," he began, motioning toward the sinuous growth weaving along the glass ceiling. Its massive thorns glistened with toxin, ready to claim any who dared approach.

"Bloodbloom Spires," he continued, touching the glowing blossoms that pulsed like breathing creatures. Their scent was dangerous, a lure too enticing to resist.

"Then we have Ashroot Stranglers," Da Hei murmured. Their thick roots burrow into the tal foundations, unyielding, spreading with a hunger that devoured concrete. "They don’t just grow. They take."

"And the Nightshade Maw," Da Hei muttered as he crouched beside the massive, carnivorous bloom, its razor-edged petals flexing in anticipation.

He exhaled, thoughtful. "These will do."

"I will ask the twins if they have antidotes," he added, glancing at Da Hei. "In case of accidents."

Da Hei smiled happily glad to he of use but as he glanced over at Xiang Yu, his smile suddenly stiffened. His eyes caught the glint of a gold ring on Xiang Yu’s finger, a ring that hadn’t been there before.

For a mont, Da Hei froze, his thoughts racing. He didn’t ask about it. He didn’t want to. Deep down, he wasn’t sure he wanted to know the answer.

The sight of the ring stirred sothing in him, sothing he couldn’t quite na. It was unexpected, unsettling, and yet... it didn’t change how he felt.

Da Hei’s smile softened, transforming into sothing more knowing, more deliberate. If this was the way things were, so be it.

He wasn’t going to let Xiang Yu slip away. Not now, not ever. His lips curled into a small smile, his eyes eting Xiang Yu’s with a quiet determination.
