"No, actually, it's not, but let's not get into that right now," I said. "Co around here and sit down in the chair next to . Your discomfort is making uncomfortable."

"Is that an order? Who says I have to do what you say?" She said.

"I didn't want to have to do this, but you're leaving no choice. I'm pulling the slave owner card. You are my slave, and you will sit down next to and enjoy the drinks and food I order for the booth. And you will participate in the auctions and you will have a good ti. Or my na isn't Dylan Flanderyers," I said, an edge to my tone.

"Your na is Dylan Flanderyers?" She said.

"No. That's ridiculous!" I said.

"Wait then why do I have to listen to what you say?" She said.

"Sit the fuck down, or I will make you sit the fuck down," I said.

"Ok, ok, geez. You don't have to get your panties in a twist," she said. She walked around the row of chairs and sat in the chair next to mine.

"Good. Thank you," I said. "Now what would you like to wear?" I pulled up the clothing nu from the system shop, and typed in "cyberpunk clothes."

"What do you an?" She said.

"I an like a skin tight cyber suit, or a jumpsuit, or cargo pants or a cargo jacket? Like clothes. You don't look comfortable in the teeny bikini that barely covers your hooch," I said.

"Don't talk about my hooch!" She said, indignantly.

"Wow, ok, I won't talk about your hooch, geez. Let's get to the point though. We don't have much ti. I have one day to get you to enjoy your life, and that's it," I said.

"What do you an, you only have one day?" She said.

"Never mind. Don't worry about it. But I want you to enjoy this day, not the next, so pick so clothes and let's go!" I said.

"Ok. The cyber suit didn't sound awful. And a green cargo jacket would go well with that. Keep warm and shit," she said.

"Makes sense to ," I said. I picked out a dark blue gray cyber suit and a green cargo jacket. I purchased them, pulled them out of thin air, and handed the articles of clothing to her.

"Where did you get those from," she said, as she grabbed the articles of clothing.

"Advanced technology. Don't worry about it," I said. "Just go put those on. I hate watching you shiver."

She got up and walked over into the corner of the booth behind where I was sitting. After a little bit, she walked back around the chairs and sat down next to , fully clothed. The cyber suit was skin tight and showed off her curves, while the jacket was a nice complent piece to that.

"Good. We're having martinis and sushi," I said, as I picked up a phone next to . Soone answered on the other side. "Yeah I would like to order six appletinis and two California rolls, two unagi rolls, and two dynamite rolls. Thank you." I hung up the phone.

We waited for the food and drinks to show up. When they did, I made her grab an appletini and a piece of sushi. We cheers-ed our drinks, drank so from them, then ate our pieces of sushi. They were exquisite. I was really getting used to the good life. No more gas station hot dogs after spending a night in my van.

The auction continued, and I let Mira control my number. She was nervous to do it at first, but she quickly got into it. She started outbidding everyone on every item.

We ended up with a bunch of useless junk we didn't need, but it made her happy, so who was I to complain. All told, we ended up spending another 10 million dollars on so guns, a katana, a ton of cyberware, and a hacker deck.

Cyberware is hardware you implant into your body to enhance it and a hacker deck is like if a keyboard was also a computer that let you remotely hack into systems with your mind. It's weird.

But she wanted it, so we got it. I didn't know what I was going to do with all this garbage so I gave it to Midas to put in my inventory. She asked where it went when it disappeared and I told her it was advanced technology, which isn't technically wrong.

"Hey! I wanted that stuff!" Mira said.

"It's yours. You can have it back later. It's just that we're leaving and that stuff is hard to travel with so I put it away," I said.

"Ok. Where are we going?" She said.

"Where do you want to go?" I said. "What's sothing you've always wanted to do, but couldn't because of money or status?"

"Hmm. I'm not sure. Oh, wait! Battle Derby! Let's do battle derby!" She said, literally jumping up and down. Her giant breasts bounced up and down as she did this. I would've thought that would hurt, but she didn't seem to even notice.

"What's battle derby?" I said.

"How could you not know what battle derby is? It's only the biggest competitive sport in the world!" She said.

"I'm not from around here," I said.

"You an like the entire planet? You're not from this entire planet?" She said, incredulous.

"Actually, no. I won't get into that until we know each other a little better though. So move past it," I said.

"There's no way that's true, but I'll leave it alone for now," she said.

"So if battle derby is that big, it must have a professional league. How would we be able to participate?" I said.

"Yes and no. There is a professional league we wouldn't be able to participate in, but there are races open to public participation. They're usually chaotic free-for-alls but that's what we'll be participating in," she said.

"Sounds fine to . Let's go," I said.

Mira walked out of the auction hall with . We had just gotten outside when a big hand grabbed my shoulder and a bag went over my head.

"You're coming with us!" A gruff voice said.
