Dawn City Yggdra.
The city walls were massive, this kind of structure was allowed only in another world. Such a construction would be impossible without magic.
It was a sinister yet captivating mansion, the kind you'd imagine a vampire might live in.
And yet, it was quite an admirable exterior.
The designer undoubtedly had excellent taste. With a few additional touches from , it could rival any masterpiece of art.
Before this enemy stronghold, an army of nearly ten thousand had gathered.
Ten thousand might not seem like much. For perspective, that's about the number of people a sports arena can accommodate.
But when all of them are ard, it becos overwhelmingly impressive.
Standing in opposition was a vampire force of approximately twenty thousand.
The ti was twilight.
With the blood-coloured sun as the backdrop, our legion commander, Alex Lul Eden, spoke:
"This marks the beginning of the war. This is a fight to protect our pride as the human race. The progenitor vampire, Yoyo Lo Yggdra, has trampled upon the justice of the people, their existence, and their hopes. We must not allow her to trample upon anything else."
Alex adjusted his monocle and muttered:
"Yoyo must be defeated."
His words carried overwhelming intensity and authority.
It was likely due to so skill he had mastered. Though it was just a mutter, it reached the ears and hearts of all ten thousand soldiers with imnse force.
Everyone was captivated by Alex's words.
Even accounting for the skill he used, it was extraordinary. Without employing complex expressions, he simply displayed power through his words and presence. This was the true voice of royalty. Alex belonged to the direct lineage of one of the three kings who governed the chaotic city-state of teoearth.
It was of incredible quality.
Though I've t actual royalty in real life, I've never felt such power from them.
As I stood in slight awe, the army finally raised their war cries.
"UOOOOOOH! Justice is on our side! Victory to Prince Alex! Victory to the human race! Judgnt upon the traitor!"
"OOOOOOOOOOOH!"
Basking in their resounding cheers, Alex nodded naturally.
War was about to begin.
With the onset of night, the battle comnced.
The Dawn City Yggdra was protected by special magical tools that rendered it invincible during the day. It seems they had nurous vampires within their walls dedicated to maintaining this system, consuming a significant amount of magic power.
Although the original plan was to attack during the day, the enemy's reinforcents made this strategy impossible.
They turned thirty thousand people into vampires, enabling them to utilize concealed magical tools. As a result, the battle had to take place at night, where the situation was less advantageous.
However, there was no cause for concern.
Why?
"Activating unique skill—Army Chant."
Prince Alex's voice reverberated in the air. As soon as he spoke, 10% of the MP from every soldier was siphoned.
In his hand, a small fireball ford.
Alex threw it.
"Crush the left flank—Fireball."
The small fireball exploded amidst the enemy ranks.
The shockwave was so intense that even I struggled to remain standing. The air itself seed to rupture.
That alone annihilated the left flank of thousands of vampires, leaving not even a speck of ash.
As he stared at the gap left by the explosion, Alex gave his orders:
"Advance on the left flank. Show only enough movent to threaten the wall, but do not break formation. Prioritize supporting the center. Create a feigned encirclent to weaken them. Continue holding the central and right flanks. Hold firm, and their lines will crumble. The enemy is rely forr citizens made powerful. Their hearts will falter first. Formation of Endurance."
Despite being stunned and frozen monts earlier, the troops unconsciously obeyed Alex's commands. This was likely one of the limited High Human-exclusive skills: Absolute Command.
The human forces surged into the vampire ranks like an unstoppable tide.
Watching from the midline, I murmured:
"Isn't this going too smoothly...?"
"It's all going according to God's plan...!"
"I think this ti is different, though."
"?"
Liora didn't seem to understand.
It was about ti for us to get to work.
Currently, a full-scale war between the vampires and humans was underway. The battle was evenly matched at the mont.
The initial advantage we gained had been balanced out by the vampires' overwhelming regenerative abilities.
As the night deepened, visibility would worsen, further tipping the scales against us. However, the humans still had strategies to ensure victory.
Now, as for our specific tasks—they were divided into three main objectives:
-Assassinate the enemy's commanders.
-Confront the three knights expected to appear.
-Lead the assault team to assassinate Yoyo.
According to Alex, even if we fail, retreating is acceptable. The main objective is to make the enemy aware of the risk of a raid, disrupt their movents, and then crush them with military force.
In the end, overwhelming strength is the most straightforward strategy in war.
The battlefield was a cacophony of clashing swords.
Amidst it stood an unusual sight: a young girl. She carried a large scythe on her back and made no effort to join the fight, instead hiding behind the adults.
It was not out of fear.
"I've found them."
Liora muttered as she weaved through the chaos of battle. Like a shadow slipping through cracks, she darted between vampires.
Her movents were so fluid and precise that no one could react.
"Do not falter! We are blessed by Lady Yoyo! We regenerate! re humans cannot—"
"One."
"!?"
The neck of the loud vampire, who appeared to be a commander, tumbled across the battlefield.
Liora imdiately followed up by using [Bomb Lightning] to obliterate the head and then unleashed [Low Roar] deep within the enemy lines, completely diverting their focus.
"[Shining Slash]," she declared.
Delivering a devastating blow to a group of vampires, Liora then used Samurai as a decoy and swiftly withdrew from the fray.
Both ally and enemy alike froze in their tracks.
An assassination with a massive scythe had been executed openly in the midst of the battlefield.
It was natural for ordinary people to freeze in response to such an unprecedented sight.
"Liora, give the order," I prompted.
"Yes, Lord! The gods decree... 'Fight,'" Liora announced.
With her declaration, the human army erupted into cheers. The one-sided death dealt by the young girl energized their spirits and instilled deep despair in the enemy.
"On to the next," she said.
Liora nodded silently, bloodied but resolute.
Afterward, she eliminated about three more vampire commanders. On such a chaotic battlefield, Liora's small stature made her difficult to spot.
Especially amidst a desperate struggle for survival, everyone was preoccupied with their own battles.
The assassination techniques Liora learned from Jack-Jack appeared to be quite effective.
Once she retreated, I cast [Shadow Veil] on her.
Now, after waiting for a few minutes, the enemy would lose track of Liora again. Even if they didn't, losing focus on this battlefield would be fatal.
Those distracted individuals would be killed by the soldiers before Liora even had to act.
I launched a smokescreen into the enemy lines using [Create Dark]. The vampires, who were caught off guard by their sudden inability to see in the dark, suffered significantly.
The vampires shouted in confusion:
"I-I can't see! We're supposed to have night vision!"
"Protect ! That girl—she's coming! Protect ee!"
"Where the hell did she go—gah!"
"Stop focusing on the girl! There's a soldier right in front of you!"
The vampires descended into chaos, while the human army took advantage:
"Kill them! They're panicking!"
"Push forward!"
"Hey, they're distracted by the little girl! Are you really ignoring ? Don't lose your head—literally!"
The battlefield was filled with roaring cheers.

Well, winning is exhilarating, after all.
However, the humans' aggression, while spirited, began to lose its fervor as the vampires counterattacked, gradually forcing them to cool down.
Even with Alex's buffs, the vampires were still monsters.
"Reform the ranks!" one vampire roared.
Gradually, the vampires began prioritizing protecting their commanders. What had been a scattered and individualistic fight transford into a more disciplined and coordinated effort.
The looming threat of the "Reaper Girl" had forced them to adapt.
With their defences so tightly reinforced, attacking directly beca challenging.
I could still strike, even if it ant taking damage—but the risk was high. Using [Angel's Wing I] here would be wasteful.
The rest could be left to the army. The vampires had been cowed.
Even their vaunted [Regeneration] was useless if they didn't go on the offensive.
We shifted our focus to targeting the Three Knights instead.
