He smirked slightly but said nothing.
He wasn’t bored enough to waste his ti on random nobodies.
On the other hand, the atmosphere at the table suddenly beca awkward.
Adrian felt even more embarrassed...he hadn’t expected his girlfriend to say sothing like that.
"Haha, she’s just joking, guys. Don’t take it seriously," he laughed awkwardly, nudging his girlfriend with his elbow to signal her to say sothing in an attempt to lighten the mood.
"Hmph!"
His girlfriend just scoffed but didn’t say anything more.
The others also nodded in understanding, albeit a bit awkwardly.
Everyone turned to look at Rex.
"Hey, it’s okay. I know she didn’t an it," he said, shaking his hand dismissively as if swatting away an annoying fly.
Seeing Rex’s nonchalant attitude, Blair’s pride seed to take a hit. Just as she was about to retort, Adrian hurriedly grabbed her arm.
"Guys, we have sothing important to do, so we gotta go. Let’s et again soti," he said with an awkward laugh before forcefully pulling her away.
After they left, the group remained silent for a mont. The atmosphere was still a little tense, so a few chuckled awkwardly.
Just then, they saw Adrian running back toward them.
"I’m so sorry! I-I didn’t expect her to say sothing like that. She’s a good girl...I don’t know why she acted that way. But anyway, I apologize on her behalf."
"It’s okay," Rex replied with a shrug. "Like I said before, I don’t really care. And in a way, she wasn’t entirely wrong...n should have money or status."
Adrian took a deep look at Rex. Seeing that he truly wasn’t offended, he let out a sigh of relief.
"Anyway, I apologize again on her behalf. Let’s have a gathering again so ti...it’ll be my treat."
"Okay, I’ll rember that! Everyone here is a witness...you can’t back out," soone joked.
"Alright, alright," Adrian said before quickly running off again. It was obvious he had only co back with an excuse.
Rex clapped his hands. "Okay, let’s forget these unpleasant things. Tell how you all have been these days. Fill in on any interesting things that happened while I was away."
Hearing this, everyone started chatting animatedly again, sharing stories about the latest gossip and funny incidents.
Rex listened with interest, occasionally sharing interesting things he had heard in his past life.
Overall, everyone had a great ti, and their sowhat shaky friendship grew stronger.
After lunch, they all went their separate ways since there was still so ti left before classes resud.
Rex also parted ways and left the cafeteria.
But just as he stepped outside....
Ding!
A sudden system prompt appeared in front of him.
[System has detected great hostility toward the host in the vicinity.]
[Activating ergency mission.]
He froze on the spot, eyes widening.
Soone hated him enough for the system to activate a protection mission?

anwhile, in an elegant office, two figures...one young and one old...were engaged in a heated conversation.
Just by looking at them, one could tell they were up to no good.
The younger man spoke first, his voice laced with impatience. "Uncle, why is that bastard orphan still roaming around the university?"
"Haven’t you promised you’d have him expelled soon?"
"I know, I know, but that bastard isn’t so simple. We can’t act too hastily. Just wait a few more days....I’ll find a way to have him accused of sothing and naturally get him expelled."
"What’s so difficult about it? Let’s do what we did last ti and have so girl accuse him of rape. Wouldn’t that be easy?"
"You don’t understand." The older man shook his head. "If it were that simple, I would have done it a long ti ago. But that bastard has so connections. We can’t act recklessly. Just be patient."
The younger man scowled. "Fine, but you need to act fast. My parents already know about this, and they’re furious. They’re also not happy with your lack of action."
Hearing this, the older man visibly tensed up.
On the surface, he seed to be doing well, but in reality, he was nothing compared to his elder brother. His big brother was a ruthless man...soone even he feared.
Gritting his teeth, he responded cruelly, "Fine. Tell your parents there will be results in the next few days."
"Hmph. Okay." The younger man nodded, satisfied.
—
Back outside, another system prompt jolted Rex from his thoughts.
Ding!
[Expose Professor Clent and have him expelled.
Ti limit: 7 days
Reward: Unknown (sothing good)
Penalty: Unknown]
Rex’s eyebrows lifted slightly.
Just as he suspected...the only ones who hated him enough to trigger the system’s warning were definitely the Whitmore uncle and nephew.
But one thing confused him.
Shouldn’t the system have included Logan as well? Why was it only targeting Clent?
Maybe the system didn’t see Logan as a real threat...at least not yet.
Either way, his priority now was to complete the mission. And besides, even without a mission or reward, he wasn’t the type to sit back when soone harbored malice toward him.
His principle was simple: he wouldn’t provoke others unnecessarily, but if soone dared to ss with him, he would never let them go.
The only problem was the ti constraint.
If he had more ti, he was confident he could co up with a solid plan. But with only seven days, there was only one person he could think of who might help, Uncle Johnson.
But getting Uncle Johnson involved wasn’t sothing he wanted to do.
Just as he was caught in his dilemma...
Ding!
[Considering the host’s situation, the system has decided to provide a hint.]
[At 12:48, reach the designated location to find the clue.]
[Follow system instructions to reach the location.]
Rex’s eyes widened in surprise.
Who would’ve thought the system actually had a conscience?
Still, it was a pleasant surprise. With the system’s guidance, this mission would be much easier.
He quickly checked the ti.
"12:41."
The location was about a ten-minute walk away.
But now he had to get there in just "seven minutes."
