Chu Ge laughed heartily, glancing at his left arm where the hideous wound had completely healed. He reached out with his right hand, pinching the scab lightly with his thumb and forefinger, and tore off a strip of dried blood. Beneath the scab was smooth new skin; its pale color clashed so starkly with the surrounding bloodiness.

Not human? Perhaps?

Chu Ge thought of that eerie Spiritual World in his mind, thought of the white tiger, the golden dragon, and that absurdly dressed Lin Danda, and the "other world" ntioned by the fool, and finally, the "uninvited guest" hidden within his body.

Casually crushing one corner of the blood scab into powder, Chu Ge blew a breath at his fingers, montarily putting those thoughts aside. Even without all that, in front of Chu Chengrui, he had no need to be "human".

Since Chu Chengrui abandoned "humanity" for his ambitious desires, yet stood at the moral high ground in his mont of life and death, demanding others to have "humanity", wasn't this the greatest joke under the skies?

It's not sothing Chu Ge entirely lacks, otherwise, he wouldn't have co here specifically for Chu Shiyao. It's just, he has no interest nor need to demonstrate it before Chu Chengrui.

Even if Chu Chengrui now grovels like a dog to Chu Ge, it is far more dignified than saying "you're not human".

Earlier, Chu Ge let Chu Chengrui choose, but he didn't, so Chu Ge made the decision for him—slowly lifting his right foot and breaking Chu Chengrui's right leg at the knee.

By now, Chu Chengrui's limbs are utterly destroyed!

Amidst the heavy scent of blood, Chu Ge yawned, his eyes scanning the surroundings before taking a few steps, bending down to pick up a cold and shiny object.

It was the surgical knife that had previously fallen from Chu Shiyao's hands.

Breaking Chu Chengrui's bones bit by bit was too cumberso, though tolerable, but Chu Ge had other matters to attend to. So he decided to use the knife, to toy with Chu Chengrui, to revive his numbed nerves from the pain, and then... take his dog life.

Chu Ge picked up the knife, let it dance between his fingers a few tis, then firmly grasped the handle with the blade pointing forward, returning to Chu Chengrui's side.

Just as he was about to cut, Chu Ge suddenly sensed several people's ntal waves, followed by faint footsteps, and his lips slightly curved upward.

"Chu Chengrui, is there anyone else besides you who can enter this lab?"

"Chu... Chu Mu can also enter."

Chu Chengrui cooperatively answered Chu Ge's question, now fully realizing the truth—whether Chu Ge wants him to live or die, he has no right to resist or negotiate, only by cooperating with Chu Ge might there be a glimr of survival, or... a quicker death.

"Chu Mu... what a coincidence."

Murmuring to himself, Chu Ge's smile widened, left hand fiddling with the small surgical knife, while his right hand lifted the crippled Chu Chengrui, seating him heavily on the pitted lab table.

Half a minute later, the sound of a door opening reached Chu Ge's ears, followed by hesitant footsteps, then four n walked in.

They were Chu Mu, Yuan He, and "No. 2" and "No. 3".

At this mont, they were all stained with blood, Chu Mu's black suit was the least stained, while "No. 2" and "No. 3" had the most blood, not just on their black combat uniforms, but also streaks of red on their faces and hands. Aside from bloodstains, their bodies also had patches of different colored fur.

Yuan He still wore his flamboyantly pure white attire—white athletic vest, white casual pants, white shoes. Although he had the least bloodstains on him aside from Chu Mu, his all-white outfit made it appear even more striking.

Chu Mu's legs were already weak when he entered the lab, and seeing this scene, his eyes went wide, nearly falling to the ground.

Chu Ge was actually sitting calmly on the test bench, playing with the knife, while Chu Chengrui was covered in blood, barely clinging to life beside him?

What the hell is going on here?

"Chu... Chu Ge!"

A second later, Chu Mu exclaid in shock, instinctively taking a step back but bumped into Yuan He, shivering, he urgently said, "What are you waiting for? Seize him!"

Unfortunately, whether it was Yuan He or "No. 2" and "No. 3", none of them moved, eyes fixed straight ahead, ignoring his voice.

"One! One! Two? Three? What's... what's the matter with you?"

Unwilling to give up, Chu Mu shouted twice more, but the three of them seed to have turned into wooden stakes, utterly unresponsive to his voice.

Such a bizarre scene made Chu Mu feel as though he had seen a ghost. A shiver ran down his spine, and he instinctively hid behind Yuan He, before stumbling toward the door with shaky legs.

Whoosh!

The sound of sothing slicing through the air suddenly rang out. Chu Mu felt a chill on his cheek, and a flash appeared in his vision. In the next instant, he saw a surgical knife nearly embedded in the wall beside the door, with only the handle left vibrating intensely.

In an instant, cold sweat broke out on Chu Mu's forehead. He fell to the ground with a "thud," without a doubt, the thing that had just zipped past his cheek was that surgical knife.

It seed to confirm the terrifying thought in his mind. As a drop of cold sweat fell from his forehead, he suddenly felt a heat on his cheek. He reached out with a trembling hand to touch it, only to find a streak of glaring red on his fingers when he brought them to his eyes.

"Now that you're here, there's no need to leave in such a hurry, is there? If you go out... are you sure it's safer out there than here?"

From behind him, Chu Ge's voice echoed.

Though it sounded calm and steady, Chu Mu felt his hair stand on end, chills creeping from the top of his head down to his spine and then to the soles of his feet.

How could Chu Ge know that things outside have already turned upside down?

Could it be?

Could it be!

Could it be... that all of this is Chu Ge's doing?

How is this possible! But, if it's not, then what does Chu Ge an by that sentence?

Staring at the still-vibrating handle of the knife, Chu Mu's eyes twitched in rhythm with the knife. His mind buzzed chaotically, unable to comprehend anything; he thought he must have seen a ghost!

"What's the matter? Are you planning on talking to with the back of your head? Isn't that a bit impolite?"

From behind, Chu Ge's voice ca again. Chu Mu swallowed hard, chanically turning his neck and placing his hopes on "No. 1," "No. 2," and "No. 3," who had escorted him here.

Unfortunately... these three paragons of war machines remained completely still, as if transford into human statues, not even making a single sound.

An eerie silence spread through the air, and Chu Mu's chaotic mind turned blank again. He felt he must be dreaming, a terribly bad nightmare.

In his vision, only Chu Ge's sinister smile remained, and in his ears, the persistent buzz of the knife handle echoed. Two more drops slid down Chu Mu's face, one cold and the other warm.

Chu Ge lazily smiled, casually picking up a very thin piece of glass and toying with it between his fingers. The fragnt danced as if alive, yet never cutting Chu Ge's fingers.

Suddenly, the glass fragnt vanished from between Chu Ge's fingers, and Chu Mu heard a "ding." He instinctively glanced in the direction of the sound, feeling his liver and gallbladder quake with fear, his sphincter clenching uncontrollably.

On the wall near the door, the knife handle was now embedded even deeper. Without a doubt, there could only be one explanation for this: the glass fragnt, played with so casually by Chu Ge, had sohow precisely struck the handle of the knife.

He had been watching Chu Ge's hand intently but never saw any throwing action. The sharp glass seed to vanish into thin air, only to reappear striking the knife handle.

Unbelievable, yet undeniable.

More cold sweat poured from Chu Mu's forehead, as if he had just washed his head and face. Even his back was drenched with sweat, causing his clothes to stick uncomfortably.

Because he was acutely aware of one thing: Chu Ge hadn't intended to kill him, at least not for now. Otherwise, the surgical knife could have easily pierced a hole in his body, and the sharp glass could have slit his throat.

The knife wasn't thrown off course at all; it was a deliberate warning, telling him to stay put and not attempt any foolish actions.

Chu Mu decided to comply, turning his entire body with both hands and feet, tensing every sinew and muscle, and warily watching Chu Ge.

Even though he had a pistol at his waist, and "No. 1," "No. 2," and "No. 3" were ard nearby, he dared not make any extra moves.

Although at such close range, he could draw his gun and hit Chu Ge without aiming, taking no more than three seconds to draw and fire.

But... Chu Ge was now playing with a test tube between his fingers again, and Chu Mu lacked the confidence to be quicker than him. It seed Chu Ge needed only a second to kill him.
