Qin Ruoying smiled, and Qin Ruojing imdiately tugged at her hand, giving her a glare. Although she actually wanted to laugh too, the three people over there were already quite awkward. It was really impolite for her sister to burst into laughter like that.
Qin Ruojing wasn't slow to act, but no matter how fast she moved, Qin Ruoying's laughter had already reached those three people's ears, and Su Haidong along with the two girls turned their heads to look over.
Qin Ruoying tried to hold back her laughter, but seeing those three people, she couldn't contain it, and as Qin Ruojing showed them an apologetic smile, she laughed again.
On Chu Ge's side, there were also three people and so were there on Su Haidong's side. They stared wide-eyed at each other for a few seconds, and it was Chu Ge who broke the silence first, "We are also from Hua Country, and we are headed to the ani convention as well. Since we're so fated to et, why not go together?"
Hearing Chu Ge say this, Su Haidong and the two girls all laughed awkwardly, glanced at Chu Ge and the Qin Family sisters, felt that they seed friendly enough, and nodded in agreent one after another.
The six of them walked together, chatting in Chinese as they went. Chu Ge found out that Su Haidong ca here to work, having just arrived in Japan yesterday. He has an uncle who runs a small inn here, and a sister nad Su Xiao studying at Kamakura High School, who is also attending the ani convention today. He wanted to check it out and then take his sister back to his uncle's place after the convention.
As for the two girls, one is nad Qiao Jia, her Japanese na is Matsushima Yuki, and the other is Xie Simin, whose Japanese na is Hoshino Rinko. They are both exchange students from a famous university in northeastern Hua Country and Kamakura High School. They've been here for two years and are currently in their senior year of high school.
When introducing himself and Qin Ruojing, Chu Ge didn't ntion that they were there for a honeymoon. After all, traveling for a honeymoon with one man and two won sounded too strange. He simply said they were there for tourism.
As the saying goes, when fellow countryn see each other, tears fill their eyes. They were all from Hua Country and all young, and their eting was quite dramatic. After getting to know each other a bit and exchanging so cheerful banter, the atmosphere quickly beca lively.
After walking two blocks, the group of six arrived at the place where the ani convention was held—a newly opened ani store.
It was a two-story shop facing the street. At the entrance, an adorable "Doraemon" was handing out flyers to the passing crowd. A "Rock Lee" and a "Guy" were dressed in green tights, street dancing to intense music, while a girl dressed as "Hinata Hyuga" continually bowed to custors entering and leaving the store, greeting them with "Welco" and "Thank you for coming."
"Brother-in-law, that Doraemon is so cute, look, and that Byakugan on Hinata looks so real. You must help ask where she got her contact lenses later, I want to buy a pair too."
Before even entering the store, Qin Ruoying's eyes were already sparkling with excitent as she tugged at Chu Ge's arm. Qin Ruojing, although not very interested in ani stuff, even found the so-called "Byakugan" a bit scary. But seeing her sister so happy, her mood was naturally lifted.
The thing that Qin Ruojing found sowhat amusing was that Qin Ruoying had attended ani conventions back ho. These things should be nothing new to her, so why was she so excited now?
If Qin Ruojing could consider the situation from a different perspective, she'd easily understand her sister's feelings at the mont.
It's like when one talks about roast duck, the most authentic is surely in Beijing. When it cos to noodles, most people would imdiately think of Shanxi and Shaanxi. Similarly, the ani Qin Ruoying loved originated from Japan, then the related rchandise started spreading around the world.
To put it more simply, why did Tang Seng travel to the West to fetch scriptures? Were there no scriptures elsewhere? The answer might not necessarily be no, but those from the West are the most authentic, bringing them back is the most convincing.
Once they entered the ani store, Qin Ruoying's eyes lit up even more. The store was brimming with a wide array of ani-related goods, and various COSERs dressed as different ani characters.
Although it was just a small ani convention held to celebrate the store opening, most of the COSERs were high school students. But their professionalism was at least on par with any similar event Qin Ruoying had attended in the country.
Upon entering the store, Qiao Jia and Xie Simin went off to work on their cosplay, while Chu Ge accompanied Qin Ruoying around the shop. Qin Ruojing, a bit tired from earlier, took a quick glance and then went to sit in the rest area. The shop staff enthusiastically brought over so desserts and coffee.
Su Haidong looked around but didn't see his sister Su Xiao, so he asked Chu Ge to help inquire using her Japanese na, "Sakazaki Keika."
Chu Ge naturally agreed to such a small favor and asked a few people nearby. Soone did know of Su Xiao, but said they hadn't seen her.
While Chu Ge was helping Su Haidong continue his inquiries, he saw a tall girl walk in. She had a pair of tea-colored sunglasses on her forehead, a sky-blue tight-fitting midriff-baring jacket, and a pink long skirt.
The girl not only had a great figure but was also very pretty. If Chu Ge watched "One Piece," he'd recognize imdiately that her resemblance to Nico Robin was over ninety percent, with the ten percent difference being her skin being fairer than Nico Robin's.
Chu Ge hadn't watched this ani, so he didn't know who Nico Robin was. He only noticed that the girl's face didn't look too good, with traces of lingering fear in her eyes. Then, he observed that when the girl's gaze landed on Su Haidong's profile, she suddenly froze, her eyes becoming more evasive.
From the looks of it, if Su Haidong hadn't lied earlier, then this girl was most likely his sister, Su Xiao. After all, Su Haidong was a stranger here, and besides his sister and uncle, probably no one else recognized him.
"Haidong." Chu Ge shifted his gaze to Su Haidong, called out, and signaled towards the doorway.
Su Haidong turned his head and saw that it was indeed his sister, Su Xiao. He imdiately smiled and waved at her.
Su Xiao t Su Haidong's gaze, revealing a very unnatural smile on her face. She quickly walked a few steps over to Su Haidong, quietly saying, "Brother, why are you here?"
Su Haidong didn't notice the strangeness in his sister's expression and replied with a smile, "I ca to see you. After the ani convention is over, I'll take you ho."
Upon hearing this, Su Xiao pulled him aside, cautiously glancing at Chu Ge, whom she first saw when she entered, and said quietly, "Brother, who is that person?"
"Oh, him? We t by chance. We're all from Hua Country, and he happened to be coming to the convention too, so we ca together. Shall I introduce you? His surna is Chu, just call him Brother Chu."
Upon hearing this, Su Xiao seed startled and quickly shook her head vigorously.
"Forget it, no need. Brother, you're unfamiliar with this place. I advise you to stay away from people you know nothing about. Who knows if his approach was really a coincidence or if he has other intentions."
"Eh? What's with you, girl? When did you beco so suspicious? Don't let people hear you say that."
Though Su Haidong said this, he discreetly glanced at Chu Ge, who was now slightly further away with Qin Ruoying, showing that he wasn't entirely dismissive of his sister's concerns.
Su Xiao still looked a bit tense before continuing to ask, "Brother, how did you two et? What did he say to you?"
Su Haidong explained what had happened, and Su Xiao's tension eased slightly.
"Brother, here's the thing, you should head back to Uncle's place. We don't know when we'll be done here, and it's boring for you to wait around, just go."
Su Haidong shook his head, "I specifically ca to pick you up. It'll get dark later, and I don't feel comfortable with you walking ho alone at night. I've heard there are a lot of perverts here."
There was sothing Su Haidong didn't say. His worry wasn't just from hearsay. As a young man in his twenties, he had seen plenty of romantic action films featuring stalker bullies and catcalling creeps—a genre with nurous films. Considering how pretty his sister was, he couldn't help but be worried.
To be more honest, he often fantasized about following so pretty girl himself, though he only had the intention but lacked the courage. He feared getting caught and beaten up, so he never acted on these thoughts.
When Su Haidong said this, Su Xiao got a bit anxious, furrowing her brow slightly and said, "Brother, what do you have to worry about? Before you ca, hadn't I lived here just fine for years? Anyway, after the convention, we might go out to eat."
Su Haidong felt a bit conflicted again. What his sister said seed reasonable. Su Xiao had gone abroad after middle school, and it had been years, and she was doing just fine, wasn't she?
If she and her friends went out to eat after the convention, it wouldn't be convenient to bring him along anyway. Not to ntion he didn't know anyone, and tagging along would just be awkward. Even if his sister's classmates and friends were very welcoming, and didn't mind him joining, it would be a bit much not to offer to foot the bill as her elder brother...
But then again, he wasn't exactly a wealthy person, right? A al for so many people would cost a fortune.
And to take it a step further, even if he braved the expense, communication would still be a problem. His Japanese was so poor that he struggled just to ask for directions. Sitting there, wouldn't he be like a fool, not even knowing when to laugh?
