It wasn’t until this mont that he realized the whole house was filled with the aroma of beef soup.
Zhang Hao hurriedly placed the soup pot on the dining table and didn’t forget to lay a heat-resistant mat underneath.
"You didn’t need to make so much at once though; how long will I have to eat this?" Zhang Hao said.
"It’s okay, it’s better to make more at one ti. In the future, when we don’t feel like making breakfast, just putting so noodles in is very convenient. How about we have beef noodles tonight?"
Zhang Hao went to the kitchen and saw, as expected, chunks of beef brisket stewing in the rice cooker.
"It looks like you’ve already made up your mind about this, so let’s go for beef noodles then, and I’ll stir-fry a couple of side dishes as well," he said.
During the day, Zhang Hao had selectively shared events that happened at the hospital with He Qianhui.
"There really are a lot of odd patients in the hospital," said He Qianhui.
"It’s not that the hospital has a lot of odd patients; it’s that there are even more odd people under the sky."
"I don’t believe you’ve never co across any weird custors at work," said Zhang Hao.
Following Zhang Hao’s line of thought, He Qianhui pondered, "Indeed, when I first got into this job, I also encountered a lot of bizarre custors."
"Especially their requests and ideas, which sotis made wonder if they had brains, or if they lacked the brains to consider the feasibility of a matter."
"However, so much ti has passed, and I’ve gotten used to it. Even if I et strange custors again, it doesn’t faze one bit," she continued.
Hearing He Qianhui speak so calmly made Zhang Hao show a sense of relief he had never felt before.
"Back then, I thought you couldn’t handle this job and that you’d co ho all upset after a few days."
"The competition in sales is just too fierce."
He Qianhui looked at the boiling beef soup in the pot and threw in so noodles.
"So you see, at that ti, you didn’t know well. You can’t seriously think that after being married to your cousin for so many years, I’ve lost my own ambitions," she said.
"It was only because your big-headed cousin said won shouldn’t be in the lilight that I gave it up to accommodate him, choosing not to continue working."
"If I hadn’t quit my job then, perhaps by now I would have made it to the leadership level, but even now, it’s okay. I can fulfill my wishes in another way."
When the pot started boiling again, He Qianhui sprinkled a handful of green onions over it.
Zhang Hao ladled out the tender beef brisket chunks from the pot.
The two of them had a bowl of beef noodles each, simply settling their dinner that way.
"Didn’t you tell before that you always encounter so strange patients at work?"
"How co you haven’t ntioned any to in a while?" He Qianhui asked.
Zhang Hao imdiately thought of Xia Xin, who was sowhat special to so extent.
The most crucial thing was that he had first encountered Xia Xin when He Qianhui was away on a business trip.
Could it be that she sensed sothing, and that’s why she was asking?
While Zhang Hao hesitated, He Qianhui pressed on, "What’s wrong, lost in thought? You seem distracted. Hurry up and eat."
Zhang Hao offered a sheepish smile, bowed his head, and continued eating his noodles. Halfway through, he suddenly looked up.
"Wife, would you believe if I told you there’s soone trying to snatch away from your side, claiming they want to pursue ?" he said.
Upon hearing this, He Qianhui’s eyebrows involuntarily knitted together, "Who is it, trying to chase you as if you’re so hot commodity?"
"Aren’t they afraid they’ll regret it after they succeed? I’m even starting to have so regrets now."
"I barely got to try out a few n before I got tied down by you, and you don’t even realize that sotis there are potential clients at the company."
"They’re all these tall guys, over six feet, with wheat-colored skin, truly the type that looks slim in clothes but has so at on their bones when undressed."
"I don’t know how many young girls they’ve bewitched to the point of desperation."
Zhang Hao sensed sothing off in these remarks and quickly rebutted what He Qianhui had said.
"What do you an ’ended up in my hands’? Do I really look that bad to you? I think you seed quite proud when you were holding my arm in front of your colleagues."
"How co when it’s just the two of us, you start belittling ?"
"Are you using so sort of internet tactic to put down, so I can’t leave you?" Zhang Hao said.
He Qianhui’s mouth curved up slightly: "Put you down? Why would I need to go online to learn that? Let’s just eat."
Zhang Hao realized that He Qianhui wasn’t taking the matter of soone wanting to chase him seriously.
She didn’t even bother to ask who it was, probably treating it as a joke.
But Zhang Hao felt this wasn’t right; who knows what that cheeky girl would try next.
If she really did ss up his relationship with He Qianhui, that would definitely be the worst decision of his life.
"Wife, why don’t we find a ti to get our marriage certificate? That way, I’ll officially be off the market."
"Even if soone tries to woo , I won’t be swayed in the slightest."
From the mont Zhang Hao got ho from work, He Qianhui felt sothing was off about him.
But no matter how much she thought about it, she couldn’t pinpoint what it was, until he started talking about getting the marriage certificate.
That’s when she realized the seriousness of the issue, "Who exactly is trying to chase you? Is it one of your colleagues at the hospital? But doesn’t everyone at your hospital already know you have a girlfriend? Why would they still press their luck?"
Zhang Hao sighed and said, "The person chasing isn’t a colleague from the hospital, but a patient."
"I initially didn’t want to tell you since I was concerned you’d overthink it, but for the sake of being cautious, and for our relationship to remain stable, I think I should tell you."
Zhang Hao told He Qianhui everything about the situation in great detail, leaving her bewildered.
In the end, the conclusion was, why on earth would she set her sights on you?
Maybe what she said was just a joke, how could he take it seriously?
Whether to take it seriously or not was entirely up to Zhang Hao.
"In my opinion, she was just pulling your leg, and you took it to heart."
"But these days, it’s not uncommon for won to chase after n. You’re young and capable, with a good temperant and character."
"It’s only natural for soone to like you, but what about you? What do you feel about that girl?"
Zhang Hao didn’t even need to spend ti thinking before he could directly answer He Qianhui’s question.
"What could I possibly feel about a woman who works in a nightclub? Unless I was so club prince, I wouldn’t be attracted to her."
"What I dislike the most is going to places like that. All I’m hoping for now is for her to recover and stop bothering ."
"But then she actually went to my hospital and applied for a job in the Public Relations departnt. What am I going to do when I have to see her all the ti?"
Seeing that Zhang Hao was genuinely worried about this, He Qianhui couldn’t help but offer a suggestion.
"Then you should just reject her clearly. Your ambiguity gives her hope."
"Are you really going to wave our marriage certificate in her face and tell her you’re already married, so she should stop having delusions?"
