Zhang Jian, isn’t that Dad’s na!

Zhang Hao imdiately stood up and walked over, "That’s , I’m his son, what happened?"

The nurse glanced at Zhang Hao and said the patient was in poor condition and needed a blood transfusion.

Blood transfusion is nothing out of the ordinary in an ergency room.

And he knew his dad’s blood type.

"Okay, I’ll take care of it right away, please make sure to save my father."

It wasn’t until the latter half of the night that his father was wheeled out of the ergency room.

Though he was out of danger, he still had to be observed in the ICU overnight until his vital signs stabilized, after which he could be moved to a general ward to recuperate.

Zhang Hao didn’t sleep all night, and neither did his mother.

But the ICU was not a place one could enter and leave at will.

The next day, as soon as dawn broke, Zhang Hao returned with a few buns and so soy milk.

"It’s getting late, you should go to work. I’ll keep an eye on things here by myself, and your uncle will co over later."

Actually, at this mont, Zhang Hao really wanted to stay and wait for his father to open his eyes.

But his mother insisted that he go to work, even saying that as a doctor, treating the sick and saving lives was his duty, and he couldn’t leave his post just because a small incident happened at ho.

Seeing his mother’s resolve, Zhang Hao didn’t press the issue any further.

"Alright, then I’ll go to work. Rember to call if anything happens, my phone is on twenty-four hours a day."

As Zhang Hao exited the ICU, he went straight for the elevator, not expecting it to stop on the floor below.

Thinking it was another family mber going down, he was surprised to see Lin Zhen when he looked up.

Seeing him, Zhang Hao’s expression remained impassive.

It was Lin Zhen who, hugging the woman he loved, walked in.

"Baby, just wait a bit and I’ll take you shopping for a bag, the one you love most."

"Stop it, there are other people here!"

"Who’s in the elevator? I don’t see anyone. But we had a deal: after I get you that bag, you need to put in so effort tonight, make sure I have a good ti."

Watching the woman punch Lin Zhen’s shoulder playfully and act shyly,

Zhang Hao kept silent, his mind focused on his father’s condition.

Not until the elevator doors opened did Zhang Hao walk out as if nothing were amiss.

But then Lin Zhen abruptly called out to him, "Hey, didn’t you see ? I’m talking to you."

Zhang Hao answered back, looking at Lin Zhen, "Sorry, I just saw you."

Lin Zhen walked out, still holding his girlfriend, and looked Zhang Hao up and down.

"How co you’ve let yourself go like this in just a few days? Is it because your goddess went abroad and you’re feeling down? Maybe I should tell you about Song Xin..."

Before Lin Zhen could finish, Zhang Hao grabbed him by the collar.

A ferocious light shone in his eyes, "Save your breath, I don’t have ti to listen to anything you have to say right now."

"You’d better take your little girlfriend and hurry off to buy that bag, in case the store runs low on stock."

"If your little girlfriend doesn’t get what she wants, it’s very likely the next second she’ll belong to soone else."

Upon hearing this, Lin Zhen was itching to punch Zhang Hao.

But he couldn’t break free from Zhang Hao’s grasp.

In the end, he was even pinned against the wall by Zhang Hao, immobilized.

"Don’t move, if you do, I can’t guarantee what I might do," Zhang Hao threatened.

Intimidated by this, Lin Zhen didn’t dare to make a sound.

When Zhang Hao let go, he noticed a hint of disdain on the face of that young girl.

Of course, that scorn wasn’t ant for Zhang Hao.

After smoothing out the wrinkles on Lin Zhen’s collar, she headed towards the entrance of the hospital.

"Who was that person just now? He seed so fierce."

Lin Zhen, not convinced, looked at Zhang Hao’s retreating figure and said, "Just a bootlicker, don’t worry about it. I’ll take you to buy a bag, and later we’ll go to the hotel. Big brother will satisfy you properly."

It was as if what just happened didn’t exist at all.

The young girl leaned in closer to Lin Zhen’s chest again.

She sashayed as she walked, and didn’t mind at all even when Lin Zhen placed his hand on her buttocks.

Zhang Hao arrived at the hospital, but he was distracted, often daydreaming while treating patients.

If it weren’t for Lin Wan constantly reminding him with coughs by his side, he might have prescribed the wrong dicine.

He made it to noon, and just as Lin Wan wanted to use the lunch break to ask Zhang Hao what was wrong,

she saw him grab his car keys and head out of the hospital.

After a few steps of chasing without catching up, Lin Wan simply gave up.

After all, the legs were on his body; she couldn’t stop him wherever he wanted to go.

Taking advantage of the lunch break, Zhang Hao went to the City Hospital. His mom had already gone ho to rest, and outside the ward, keeping watch, was his uncle.

However, from his uncle, he learned that his father had woken up during the morning, and if there were no major issues in the afternoon, he could be transferred to a regular ward to recover quietly.

Although the accident had been severe, fortunately, the rescue was tily, and after recovery, he would likely have no lingering effects.

Relieved to hear this news, Zhang Hao also went to thank the chief surgeon of the departnt.

Having to attend a conference in the afternoon, Zhang Hao didn’t have much ti.

And with the City Hospital being a half-hour drive from his own workplace, he couldn’t be bothered to return.

He decided to spend the ti at the hospital instead and stood outside the ICU ward, looking in through the window.

Seeing his father consistently looking out the window with his head turned, Zhang Hao waved at the window as a gesture.

He didn’t know whether his father could see him or not.

With a heart full of unease, he arrived at the conference.

It was then he realized Qin Miaoke hadn’t followed, and he was just about to call her,

when Qin Miaoke hurried over in a rush.

Seeing her gasping for breath and her face flushed, he knew she must have been hurrying.

"I’m glad I’m not late. If I had been, that would have made quite an incompetent assistant," Qin Miaoke said.

"I was just about to call you, to say you didn’t need to co," Zhang Hao said.

"I heard from Lin Wan that you rushed off right after noon, and I guessed you must have had sothing important. Seeing you hadn’t returned as your shift was about to start,"

"I knew I had to co by myself. But, you still have to reimburse fifty yuan for the cab fare," she added.

As an intern like her who earned very little, those fifty yuan were enough for her two days’ als.

Zhang Hao imdiately transferred a hundred yuan to her.

Qin Miaoke happily accepted the money without any objections.

Everyone still held back on the first day of the competition.

Zhang Hao’s opponent was a female traditional Chinese dicine practitioner.

She exuded a distant coldness that suggested she preferred to keep strangers at bay.

A pair of silver-rimd glasses obscured her true eyes.

anwhile, Qin Miaoke was on the side, searching for the background of this female TCM practitioner on her phone.

"She seems very formidable, a disciple of a friend of my grandfather, currently working at the Capital Traditional Chinese dicine Hospital, a bigshot indeed,"

Upon hearing this, Zhang Hao imdiately took great interest in her.
