Christian hadn’t expected that Wendy would straight-up treat him as though he didn’t exist as he beca more furious.
He stalked up to her and grabbed her arm, preventing her from walking away as he said, "Wendy Stewart, you’re still acting as though you’re so good? Let see how long you can last being like this!"
Wendy broke away from Christian’s grip, but she failed to do so as she didn’t have enough strength.
"Let go of ," Wendy said coldly.
Wendy raised her head slightly and looked at the man in front of her, her voice becoming louder as she said, "I told you to let go of !"
Not only did Christian not let go of Wendy, but he pushed her against the wall as he leaned closer to her, saying, "Do you hate that much?"
Wendy didn’t say anything, but her eyes had already given him the answer.
Christian pressed against Wendy tightly and leaned his face downwards, as though he wanted to forcefully kiss Wendy.
Wendy turned her head away imdiately.
Just as Christian was about to do sothing in anger, anxious footsteps could be heard from outside.
Afterward, Clent bellowed, "Christian Lucas!"
Clent sounded extrely displeased.
When Clent saw Christian press Wendy against the wall, he imdiately pulled Christian away and punched him.
Christian fought back right away.
Clent was obviously not a match for Christian after he had pulled a muscle.
Soon after, he started losing, and his face was swollen.
Clent reached up to wipe the blood off the corner of his lips as he angrily asked, "You betrayed ?"
Hearing that, Christian knew that Clent definitely found out about the safe.
Initially, Clent had no idea what exactly happened in Lake City.
He just thought that Christian ran back to Rheinsville City after Interpol found out that he was dealing drugs.
However, he had just received the news that the safe got seized by Interpol before Christian had left, and there was evidence of them working together inside it.
If they follow that clue, they could find him.
"We’ve been brothers for so long. How dare you betray ? Christian Lucas, did I not treat you well enough? When you needed money, I lent it to you without a second thought. I even helped you open a drug market with my connections. So how could you betray the mont sothing went wrong?" Clent was extrely enraged.
"It’s not that I want to betray you, but I didn’t have a choice," Christian explained.
"Interpol already had their eye on for a while, and they had been investigating . They had already set up a trap for . I hadn’t expected to fail so badly this ti..."
"Why didn’t you tell this when we t previously?" If Clent knew that Christian betrayed them, he wouldn’t wait for him to return.
"I thought that you already knew." That was a lie.
The mont he saw Clent, he had known that Clent didn’t know about it.
Otherwise, Clent wouldn’t have been so calm, and a bullet to his head awaited him.
"Christian, don’t play with ! Neither I nor the organization has done anything bad to you. You have crossed the line this ti!"
Clent continued angrily, "Do you know that with whatever the Interpol has taken, it’s possible that their divisions across the world are working together to arrest us? It will be over for the business that we’ve managed for so many years in Rheinsville City once they start to investigate us!"
...
"I’ve already said that it wasn’t my intention to betray you!" Christian reiterated. "Do you think I want everything we’ve done to turn to dust? It took so many years to be stable in Lake City.
"I also want everything to progress smoothly, and I also want control over Lake City’s power and resources. Additionally, stop saying how well you’ve treated . Didn’t I treat you well either?
"Previously when you fell into Michael’s hands, I sacrificed a lot to rescue you.
"I wouldn’t have been caught so early if I didn’t save you.
"Not only that, but I had also told you before that I wasn’t doing so well in Lake City so I would work together with you to start a market to earn money once everything had beco stable.
"You’re the one who kept forcing , which caused to not have enough ti to prepare and arrange things. Yes, it was due to my carelessness that I got caught this ti, but you’re not innocent either!"
"So you chose to betray us?" Clent put his hands on his hips. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
"For the last ti, I didn’t betray you. It was the Interpol who found and snatched the safe away." Christian had no choice but to stay calm as he explained. "The reason I could even co back alive was that I took a hostage. There was no way I could bring the safe back. If I died, the safe would also be gone, wouldn’t it?"
He had returned to Rheinsville City after all.
He needed Clent’s help to rebuild his business again.
"Then what about the passcode?" Clent questioned. "I know that the safe was specially designed and could not be opened without the passcode. Once too many wrong attempts had been made, the evidence inside would automatically self-destruct. Even if soone in Zeilheim City could figure out the passcode, he would need so ti. There was no way they could retrieve the evidence so quickly."
"The passcode..." Christian looked down slightly, as though he was thinking about how to answer that question. If he told Clent that Zen was the one who had revealed the passcode, she would surely die.
Clent naturally knew that Zen had been following Christian for many years.
It wouldn’t be strange for Zen to know the passcode.
But if he doesn’t tell Clent the truth, Clent probably wouldn’t let this go so easily.
"The passcode was Ze..." Before Christian could finish his sentence, Wendy imdiately interrupted him, "Soone had correctly guessed the passcode."
Hearing Wendy’s voice, Clent finally noticed that there was soone else in there as well.
He turned around and raised his eyebrow upon seeing Wendy’s familiar face.
"It’s you?" Clent’s eyes sparkled as he said, "I didn’t expect Christian to bring you here."
Upon seeing Clent walk toward Wendy, Christian stepped forward and reached out to pull his hand.
"What are you doing?" Clent’s cold gaze swept across Christian.
"We were talking about business," Christian said seriously.
Clent smiled before swinging Christian’s hand off and saying, "Fine, let’s talk business. You have to give an explanation for this. Otherwise, not only , but the organization will also stop helping you."
"Haven’t I already told you everything? I got eyed by Interpol, and they found the safe and took it away. They also managed to guess the passcode," Christian glossed over everything simply.
"Guessed it?" Clent sneered. "Is the passcode set by you so easy to guess?"
Afterward, Clent glanced at Wendy and asked, "Who guessed it? Is it her?"
...
If Christian and Wendy revealed who gave the passcode to Interpol, that person would definitely suffer horrible consequences by Clent’s hand.
This thing would affect the entire drug syndicate after all.
Just now, Christian was contemplating telling Clent that it was Zen who gave the passcode to Interpol.
Zen was still unconscious in the basent.
She was alive after so much effort, but if Clent knew the truth, there was no way she could live.
Wendy took a deep breath before clenching her fist as she raised her head and said, "I did it."
Christian froze upon hearing Wendy’s words.
She did sothing stupid again.
"Heh..." Clent’s smile was full of mockery as he said, "I knew that Christian likes you, but I also understand Christian’s personality. To him, love is sothing unnecessary and can be discarded at any ti.
"Back then there was a girl who died in front of him just to save him, but he chose to run away without a second glance. The fact that you knew the passcode ant that Christian really fell for you this ti.
"Don’t tell that his passcode was your birthday or so number related to you."
Although Clent said that, he already had an answer in his heart.
The fact that it was so easy to guess ant that it was definitely a number related to Wendy.
Clent’s smile beca more cynical at their silence. "Oh, Christian, I don’t know what to say.
"You’ve been in this industry for so many years, so you should know what you should do and what you shouldn’t.
"I couldn’t believe you would be so stupid to use a number related to a woman as the passcode.
"And this woman is even your nesis’s woman!
"I’ll admit it if we lose, but we lost this ti because you lost to a girl. Not only , but Christian, are you willing to accept that?"
Of course, Christian wasn’t willing to accept it. He clenched his fists.
"According to our rules, since she was the one who gave the passcode and implicated our organization, she must die." Clent’s gaze fell on Wendy. He looked at her beautiful face as he said longingly, "What a waste of such a beauty."
After that, Clent clapped his hands, and his n who were standing outside imdiately walked in.
Clent’s eyes stopped at Wendy for a while before he ordered, "Take her away!"
Quickly, Christian stood in front of Wendy to protect her.
His n surrounded Clent’s n.
"What are you doing, Christian?" Clent asked coldly.
"You can’t take her away," Christian stated simply.
"Since you’ve returned to Rheinsville City, you have to abide by the organization’s rules. Those who have betrayed the organization or cause damage to the organization must suffer the torture of 10,000 snakes," Clent stated. "Don’t tell that you’ve forgotten about this rule!"
The words ’torture of 10,000 snakes’ rang in Wendy’s mind.
Although she didn’t know what Clent had ant by that, she could more or less picture it in her head.
"I said that you can’t take her away!" Christian would not back away.
"Christian, she is the reason for your failure, and she is the reason you beca like this. If it weren’t for her revealing your passcode, would all this happen to you?"
Clent stared at Christian and asked, "Did you really fall in love with her?"
