Gao Dongran furrowed his brow. Very few people had his personal number. He took out his phone and saw it was an unknown number, which puzzled him.
After a mont’s hesitation, he answered, his tone even. "Hello."
It was unclear what was said on the other end, but Gao Dongran’s expression shifted subtly. An instant later, his face lit up with joy.
"Excellent. Please wait, I’ll be right over," Gao Dongran said with a laugh before hanging up.
Gao Li was slightly stunned to see the smile on Gao Dongran’s face, wondering what had caused it.
Putting his phone back in his pocket, Gao Dongran glanced at Gao Li. "Let’s go. You’re coming with ."
Now in a good mood, Gao Dongran even found the sight of Gao Li less irritating.
Gao Li was puzzled. It was highly unusual for Gao Dongran to speak to him so pleasantly. However, Gao Li said nothing more. After all, he was just a Think Tank for the Gao Family, not a direct relative.
"Yes, Young Master Gao," Gao Li responded, following Gao Dongran out of the office.
Gao Dongran drove himself, with Gao Li sitting in the back. The car was silent save for the faint rumble of the engine. Gao Li didn’t speak, and Gao Dongran wasn’t in the mood for conversation.
And so, the two of them drove in silence until they arrived at a beautiful residential area full of villas. The property prices here were far beyond what an average person could afford. Upon entering the villa district, Gao Dongran slowed down, his eyes scanning the house numbers.
About five minutes after entering the complex, Gao Dongran stopped the car. He and Gao Li both got out.
"Let’s go. Follow
inside," Gao Dongran said flatly, glancing at Gao Li beside him.
Gao Li simply nodded and followed Gao Dongran toward the villa without a word.
As Gao Dongran and Gao Li reached the main gate of the estate, a man in a suit stepped forward to stop them. He smiled and asked, "Mr. Gao, I presu?"
Gao Dongran smiled and nodded. "Indeed. I am Gao Dongran."
"Please follow ." After confirming his identity, the man led Gao Dongran and Gao Li into the villa.
