Chapter 108: Chapter 108: Devil’s Smile

"Uh, are you complinting , beautiful Liu Shiyu?" Lin Kuang asked, looking back at the Witch with a helpless expression.

"If you want to think of it that way, then fine, consider it a complint," the Witch said grumpily. She was discovering that Lin Kuang was becoming more and more thick-skinned.

"Alright, Shilin, you don’t need to worry. Chu Zhongtian is no fool. Even if he wants to deal with , he won’t do it now. Rest assured," Lin Kuang said with a reassuring smile.

Hearing this, Liu Shilin could only nod. After all, with her own level of Energy, contending with Chu Zhongtian was nothing short of a pipe dream.

Driving the car, Lin Kuang headed back to the Lin Family’s villa. But just as he was about to reach it, two black cars suddenly swerved in front of his vehicle, blocking his path.

Lin Kuang slamd on the brakes. A harsh screeching sound erupted as the tires left skid marks five or six ters long before the black rcedes finally ca to a halt.

Inside the car, Liu Shilin and the Witch were startled. "What’s going on? What’s happening?" the Witch asked quickly, her large eyes filled with confusion.

"It’s fine. I’ll go check it out. You two wait for

in the car," Lin Kuang said, turning to get out.

As he stepped out, six or seven n piled out of the two cars ahead. At the sa ti, a dozen more erged from the sides of the road. In total, more than twenty n now blocked his path, so holding baseball bats, others brandishing switchblades. All of them sneered coldly at him.

"Who sent you?" Lin Kuang asked with a grin.

"Soone you can’t afford to ss with, kid. Just co with us quietly, or you’re going to suffer," the leader, a man in his thirties, said.

"Soone I can’t afford to ss with?" Shrugging, Lin Kuang asked with a puzzled look. "Did Chu Zhongtian send you? That doesn’t seem right. That guy’s no fool; he wouldn’t do this."

Even though it was his first ti eting Chu Zhongtian, Lin Kuang could tell he wasn’t a rash person. Therefore, he didn’t believe these n were sent by him.

"Heh, you don’t need to know who. I’ll say it again: co with us, or we’ll beat you down and drag you away," the leader repeated.

He clutched a baseball bat, leisurely approaching Lin Kuang. Behind him, the other twenty-or-so n followed, looking at Lin Kuang with disdain as if he were already theirs for the taking.

Just then, Lin Kuang pulled two Desert Eagles from behind his back, the dark muzzles aid squarely at the leader.

"Tell

who sent you, or things will get very ugly for all of you," Lin Kuang said with a smile. His calm deanor made all twenty-so n halt in their tracks.

Seeing the Desert Eagles and the dark muzzles pointed their way, the n couldn’t help but gulp, undisguised terror filling their eyes. These n were just toughs—a step above common street thugs. They had seen Desert Eagles before, but this was the first ti they’d had one pointed at their own heads. If the man in front of them pulled the trigger, one of them would definitely die.

"You... you... you don’t scare us! We’re not easily frightened!" the leader blustered, his voice trembling as beads of sweat ford on his forehead.

"Is that so?" Lin Kuang said with a smile. The next mont, he pulled the trigger.

BANG!

A gunshot rang out. A flash of light cut through the air, and the bullet struck the man directly in the calf.

"Ah!" The leader scread, dropping to one knee and clutching his wounded leg with both hands.

"You can all think it over. If you don’t talk, the next bullet will pierce your heads. Of course, if you don’t believe , you’re welco to test my aim," Lin Kuang said with a laugh, his expression unnervingly calm.

Hearing this, the n all backed away, their faces stricken with panic. The fact that Lin Kuang dared to shoot so openly was terrifying enough. If he so much as shifted his aim toward their heads, the re thought of the consequences sent a chill down their spines.

At that mont, the very air seed to freeze. The n opposite Lin Kuang didn’t dare to breathe too loudly.

"Alright, my patience is limited. Tell , who sent you?" Seeing their reaction, Lin Kuang spoke again, his tone turning cold.

The leader swallowed nervously, his eyes wide with panic. Seeing this, Lin Kuang said nothing more. As if to prove his patience had run out, he simply pulled the trigger again.

BANG!

Another shot rang out. This one hit the leader in his other knee, forcing him to collapse completely to the ground.

Before the man could even scream, Lin Kuang aid the muzzle at his head. "Speak, or not?"

"I’ll talk! I’ll talk! Don’t kill ! I’ll talk!" The man’s nerve had completely broken. He stared at Lin Kuang, his eyes filled with a terror so profound it seed he was about to wet himself.

"Then make it quick," Lin Kuang repeated.

"Yes, yes! It was Liu Dong! He sent us! It was all Liu Dong! He told us to ambush you here!" the leader blurted out, his rushed words thick with panic and fear.

Lin Kuang frowned. "Liu Dong? Liu Dong again? The son of the director of the Bureau of Industry and Comrce?"

Liu Dong’s n had co looking for trouble before, back at the karaoke bar, yet Lin Kuang was certain he’d never t the man. Clearly, this Liu Dong must be acting under soone’s orders. For soone to be giving orders to the son of a bureau director, they obviously weren’t afraid of the director himself. In other words, their status, or the power backing them, was greater than Liu Dong’s.

"Who does this Liu Dong usually hang out with? Or rather, who told him to do this?" Lin Kuang asked. "Don’t be in a hurry to answer. Think carefully. Otherwise... my Desert Eagles might just go off by accident."

As he spoke, Lin Kuang offered a slight smile that revealed two rows of pearly white teeth. To the thugs, however, it was the smile of a demon.

Staring at Lin Kuang’s smile, the leader didn’t dare hesitate for a second. "I... I’m not sure," he stamred, "but... but, Liu Dong often hangs out with Ye Tiannan. It seems like they’re very close."

Hearing the na Ye Tiannan, Lin Kuang’s eyes lit up slightly. So it was him. No wonder. No wonder Liu Dong ca after . It turns out that brat Ye Tiannan was the one behind it all!
