Imdiately Chen Lihua entered the hospital, a middle aged nurse at the reception smiled as she greeted her and said, "Dr Chen the chief is looking for you".
Chen Lihua halted in her steps and asked in a surprised tone, "The chief?, are you sure am the one he's looking for?".
Chen Lihua was surprised that the cheif would want to see her, and as for the reason, she had no idea about that.
Normally, the chief would interact with her mother since she was the one who usually spoke with him, instead of her.
And that's the reason she's surprised. The number of tis she had interacted with the chief could be counted on one hand.
And everyti she t the chief, he would smile at her after exchanging short pleasantries.
With these, Chen Lihua concluded that he did that because of her mother as she hasn't displayed any talent that would cause the smiles to occur.
The nurse looked at Chen Lihua asked she answered with a smile, "You're the only Dr here who goes by the surna 'Chen'. And by the way, you're also the youngest Cardiologist ever recorded in the world".
The nurse said the last part with a hint of pride and admiration.
The nurse was quite surprised the first day she discovered this, and she wrote it down sowhere in her mind never to belittle this young Doctor Who looks like she doesn't know where her bearing was.
Hearing the affirmation, Chen Lihua heaved a sigh and thanked the nurse before she quickly left to enter the elevator to proceed to the Chief surgeon's office.
Getting to the Chief's office, Chen Lihua knocked thrice on the door. She only entered after getting a permission to proceed.
As she entered, she closed the door behind her and walked a few steps to stand in front of the 56 years old man who was sitting comfortably on his soft, black, leather chair.
"Good morning Chief, one of the nurses at the reception told you wanted to see ". Chen Lihua greeted before asking.
The Chief smiled as he said in a gentle tone, "Good morning to you too Dr Chen, please have a seat".
Chen Lihua withdrew her smile as she felt that there was no need to smile at the man since she had greeted and treated him respectfully, and the second reason was that, they were not that closet.
After sitting on on one of the receiving chairs that was directly opposite of him, Chen Lihua stared at the man while waiting for him to justify the reason she was currently sitting in his office.
Seeing the way Chen Lihua was looking at him and waiting for him to talk, the Chief laughed as he spoke, "One of the reasons I wanted to see you is to congratulate you on your sudden marriage as you didn't tell anyone about it. And the second reason is about real business".
Chen Lihua gave her reasons imdiately as she said seriously, "I just signed a marriage certificate. The real wedding hasn't taken place. But I will do well to inform you once the date has been fixed. As for the real business, what does Chief want to talk about?".
The Chief smiled as he really took her explanation to heart. Then explaining the real business, he said two very serious words, 'Heart transplant', before elaborating more on it.
"I am well aware that you have withnessed Ten heart transplants and participated in six, but not as the Chief Surgeon. Can you tell your experiences because I have perford two heart transplants as the lead Surgeon. I really want to hear what you want to say, and from that I can think about giving you a chance when the opportunity cos".
Chen Lihua stared at the middle aged man for a while before saying, "Am not in a hurry to perform any major surgery as I believe that I have the lowest rank in this departnt despite what I've earned. You may understand accept the level I can reach but the others may not. And I don't want to cause trouble, at least not now since I just started working here 3 months ago".
The Chief sighed as he explained, "That's why I want to give you a chance to perform better and be in the lilight. So that when the opportunity cos for the heart transplant, Nobody would say anything even if they are satisfied".
Chen Lihua didn't have the energy to continue sitting and listen to him, so she vaguely agreed with him, "Let's see how it goes. I will just leave everything to fate".
The chief still had sothing to say, but he had just opened his mouth to talk when an urgent knock sounded on his door.
The person knocking on the door opened the door in a hurry. With the way she rushed into the Office, you could tell that there was an ergency.
Lo and behold, the person that ca was the sa nurse that inford Chen Lihua of the Chief surgeon's words.
Chen Lihua turned to look at the nurse who seed to have taken a lot of effort to reach there.
The Chief Surgeon had a serious look on his face as he asked, "Nurse Li what's the ergency that caused you to co up to my office in a rush when you would have rang up my mobile phone or the land-line".
Nurse Li quickly apologized, "Am sorry Chief. The land-line wasn't working".
Then the Chief could only urge her to tell him the ergency that occurred.
Nurse Li spoke quickly, "The chairman of Long group suddenly collapsed in a sudden cardiac arrest while going for his morning run. The hospital's ambulance was called and we responded imdiately. But the problem is the dics just called to say that they couldn't shock his heart back into rythm".
