"Help us! Open up! Please!" The n at the end of the gate scread.

Marcus stood up.

"What is it, Mark? Is sothing wrong?" Jerry asked, tilting his head as confusion settled beneath his cold blue eyes.

Marcus slightly shook his head, raising an arm as he said, "No, nothing’s wrong. It’s just..."

I raised a brow, curiosity sinking deep within .

"It’s just what?" I asked, folding my arms.

"That voice... it sounds familiar." Marcus completed, narrowing his eyes as he stared ahead with a saddened expression.

Soone related to him?

"There’s no space here! You’ll have to find sowhere else to stay!"

My attention snapped as the boss’s words echoed across all four walls of the station. I narrowed my eyes, gazing at him.

Again with that bullshit?

Marcus’s fists curled up as his saddened expression darkened completely.

"Why don’t you go find out what’s wrong?" Jerry asked.

I turned to look at Jerry, raising a surprised brow.

I didn’t expect that.

Jerry leaned forward, and his chin lazily rested on his palm as he stared at Marcus contemplatively.

Marcus’s eyes widened, clearly stunned. His lips parted to spew out words. Nothing ca out, and so, he closed his mouth, gritted his teeth and nodded solemnly as he walked away.

The n behind the gate still scread, yelling: "Please! Just let us stay for the night to treat our wounds! We’re soldiers! We were lost from our troop... the monsters... argh!! Help us!!"

The mont I heard those words, my eyes widened, and I gazed at Jericho.

Jericho’s widened eyes locked with mine. Then slowly, his lips widened, revealing his sharp canines.

I see.

In reaction, my own lips stretched from ear to ear.

I see!

"Bingo," Jerry uttered.

Imdiately, I grabbed the steel pipe that lay on the ground beside , and I stood up.

Jericho reached inside his coat pockets, and he brought out his dual Glocks imdiately.

I stared at Marcus. And as it seed, the mont he heard the soldiers’ words, he ran toward the direction of the gate with full speed.

"Let him in!" Marcus scread, desperately begging the boss, who remained stunned and frozen, staring at the shirtless Marcus, who ran toward him, screaming like a madman.

"Goddamnit, let him the hell in! Open the fucking gate!!" Marcus scread as he leaped imdiately, landing directly in the middle of the boss and his group of lackeys.

The lackeys shivered, and the boss’s expression morphed, a faint trace of urgency and caution surfacing on the wrinkled lines of his face.

Jericho stood, and imdiately, we began walking toward the gate with no sign of hesitation.

Murmurs bubbled from the crowds of hundreds of people as we walked, as people whispered things like:

"It’s them again."

"The people without groups."

"That dark-haired one almost shut the boss the other day."

"Yeah, and I just hate the guts of that blond kid."

I frowned. That one slightly irritated .

Kid?

" too. He just has this weird.. unstable air around him."

"What was his na again?"

"Ah, I think it was sothing along the lines of..."

"Naless."

"At least the ard one is handso."

Okay, that’s enough listening in on gossip.

Jericho tapped my shoulder. "Don’t worry, one day, when you buy a cologne and a trench coat, you’ll get called handso too."

I raised the top corner of my lips as I rolled my shoulder, effectively removing his hand.

Fucker.

I raised a middle finger.

Jericho chuckled.

I stared ahead.

"I can’t." The boss said, clearing his throat as he stood his ground against Marcus.

Marcus’s tone grew grim, dark and more hostile. "Open the door. There’s enough space."

"Look, we promised to stay away from each other’s—"

Cock–!

The sound of Jericho’s gun cocking echoed, attracting gasps from the crowd.

The boss’s neck froze imdiately. The old man barely managed to turn, his shaky pupils focused on the gun that pointed at his forehead.

Imdiately, without asking any questions, the boss raised his arms in surrender.

Marcus looked at Jericho and , disbelief evident in his facial expression.

As Jericho’s gun remained pointed at the old man’s forehead, I locked eyes with Marcus and gestured at the gate with my head.

Marcus blinked, then nodded. A faint smile brushed his lips.

Marcus forced the key from the hands of one of the guards. He yoinked it without too much force or struggle.

I nodded.

That’s my boy.

Marcus headed to open the gate.

Now,

I gazed at the boss and his lackeys.

"Familiar position?" Jerry asked, chuckling.

The boss opened his mouth, probably wanting to say sothing stupid.

"I know, I know." Jerry stopped him imdiately. "We made a deal. We mind our business, you mind yours."

I folded my arms, clenching my steel pipe tight.

Jerry walked forward, a step closer to the old man, who tried to inch backward.

"No, no. Stop moving, that’ll get angry."

At this point, the boss gulped audibly, and he froze.

Jericho seized this opportunity, walking even closer to the man. And with each step Jericho took, the old man shook and shivered.

As they both stood in extrely proximity, Jericho placed the gun directly at the forehead of the boss.

Oh, standing on business. I like that.

"Yes, I know I’m not keeping to my words." Jerry sighed dramatically. " But it’s not my fault, you know. My... friend here," He pointed a thumb at Marcus, who walked in with three heavily injured n dressed in blood-soaked camouflage uniforms. "He’s a bit of a goody two-shoes."

Yeah, right.

I chuckled, shaking my head.

We both know why we’re doing this.

Jerry shrugged. "Hey, there’s nothing I can do about it if he decides that he wants to save a couple of random strangers he’s never t in his life." He turned to , "Am I right?"

I nodded. "Hundred percent. There’s nothing we can do."

My words attracted a vicious glare from the boss.

"I know him!" Marcus yelled, voice coated with oozing annoyance.

"Sure thing, buddy," I muttered.

Jerry’s blue gaze directly pierced into the old man’s eyes. "But you rember what I said to you the last ti, right? I get to break my promise. I get to go back on my words, hell, I even get to humiliate you in front of the hundreds of people that you lead. Why?

Because the one with the gun has the highest say."

And once more, I must correct that statent. It’s the one with three systems that has the highest say.

"So you just go ahead with your lackeys over here and let us do our thing. After all, we both know you’re bullshitting. There’s still space."

The old man’s face contorted imdiately. He gritted his teeth, and veins bulged on his forehead as he clenched his fists tightly, as if strangling an invisible neck. All visible signs of withheld rage.

Ah, but there was nothing he could do about it, though. Jerry didn’t even give him a chance to speak up with the gun pressed on his forehead.

The man was thoroughly humiliated.

Seeing the old man’s enraged expression, the grin on Jericho’s lips widened, turning more feral, bordering on unhinged.

I thought craziness was my thing?

"I’ve heard you." The old man finally spoke up, unclenching his fists as his shoulder slumped. He lowered his head.

The lackeys behind him all had looks of disgrace on their pale faces.

Jericho tapped his shoulder, removing the gun from his forehead.

"Good. I’m glad we’re on the sa page."
