"Mr. Fairchild, I’ve already checked earlier; the child doesn’t have any major issues. The fainting is only temporary; the main problem now is the fever."
Children’s immune systems are a bit weaker than adults’. Earlier at the banquet, Jude was doused with several glasses of red wine, and naturally, his body couldn’t cope, leading to a high fever.
"When will he wake up?" Seraphina asked, relieved after hearing Dr. Miller’s words, and quickly inquired further about Jude’s condition.
"If all goes well, I’ll give him an IV shortly, and he should wake up soon."
While speaking, Dr. Miller opened his dical kit and started preparing dicine for Jude.
On the other side, Seraphina’s complexion slightly improved.
After giving Jude the IV, Dr. Miller intended to leave imdiately, but Seraphina insisted he stay at the villa overnight.
Understanding a mother’s feelings, Dr. Miller reluctantly stayed overnight.
In the latter half of the night, Seraphina and Desmond both remained in Jude’s room, unable to change out of their banquet attire, as they kept watch by Jude’s bedside.
"Desmond, you should go back. I can handle things here on my own."
Seeing Jude still not improving, Seraphina urged Desmond to go back to sleep.
"Seraphina, I’m also Jude’s father. I’m worried about him just like you, and I want to stay by his side." Desmond pursed his lips, hesitated, but eventually spoke.
Missing out on the first five years of Jude’s life was already a major regret for Desmond, which is why he didn’t want to miss any significant event related to Jude.
Even when sick, he wanted to fulfill his paternal duties by staying close and waiting for his recovery.
Honestly, Desmond’s words did hit the soft spot in Seraphina’s heart; she had gotten used to raising Jude alone, always feeling like she was troubling others.
But Desmond reminded her that Jude was not just her child alone.
"Thank you."
Seraphina uttered her thanks sincerely.
Seeing Seraphina’s haggard appearance, Desmond couldn’t help but feel a pang of heartache.
It was only today that he truly realized that beneath Seraphina’s strong exterior, lay such a fragile side.
While the two were chatting, the little figure on the bed suddenly stirred.
The pain in the back of his head made him whimper, waking Seraphina instantly, who turned around anxiously and asked, "Jude, are you okay?"
As she spoke, Seraphina’s tears fell uncontrollably.
Jude was still groggy, but hearing his mother’s anxious cries right beside him, he snapped awake and quickly opened his eyes.
Sure enough, the first thing he saw upon opening his eyes was Seraphina’s tear-streaked face.
"Mom... Mommy, why are you crying?" Perhaps because he just started speaking, Jude’s voice was sowhat hoarse.
Seeing his mother’s tear-filled face, Jude felt heartache too and quickly reached out his small hand, wiping her face twice.
"Mommy, don’t worry about ; I’m fine now."
Jude knew well that his condition had frightened Seraphina, and felt sowhat guilty.
"Jude, does your head still hurt? Is there anywhere else you feel uncomfortable?" Desmond also asked.
"No, I’m much better." Jude pulled out a smile to reassure them.
Austin quickly ca over after hearing the news, and felt relieved seeing Jude alright.
Soothed Jude back to sleep and watched Seraphina settle down to rest, only then did Desmond exit the room.
"Ace, investigate Mrs. Lloyd’s issues. Since The Lloyd Family is being so ungrateful, they can’t bla for taking action."
"No need to investigate." Austin, unnoticed until then, walked up behind and patted Desmond’s shoulder, raising an eyebrow.
Initially, they wanted Seraphina to destroy The Lloyd Family herself, but unforeseen events changed that plan, making it impossible to wait any longer.
"What do you an?"
"I’ve already dug up a heap of dirty laundry from his family." Austin’s fierce eyes shone with a predatory gleam.
Very soon, the affair surrounding Ethan Lloyd was anonymously shared with lanie Lloyd.
The ssage contained intimate photos of Ethan Lloyd and Avril, mostly showing closeness.
Seeing these photos, lanie Lloyd nearly exploded with anger, throwing her phone onto the sofa with force.
Lately, lanie had been staying at a private club, thinking that once Ethan cooled down, he’d co looking for her, but no sign from his side.
And now, seeing these photos, how could lanie hold back? She imdiately freshened up upstairs and stord back to their ho with her phone.
It was the weekend, Ethan wasn’t working, and was taking a rare mont to relax at ho.
When lanie returned, he was leisurely watching TV in the living room.
Seeing lanie knock, Ethan wasn’t as furious as he had been, but rather returned to his usual deanor and opened the door for her.
Ethan, in a good mood, was willing to chat with lanie, smiling at her.
But this ti, lanie couldn’t interact with Ethan as she had before.
"What happened, lanie? Didn’t rest well outside? Did you bring your things back? If not, stay ho tonight."
Ethan noticed lanie glaring fiercely, though saying nothing, and couldn’t help his curiosity, prompting him to ask.
No matter what Ethan said, lanie remained silent, her eyes fixed on him coldly.
"Ethan Lloyd, I really didn’t expect it! You turned out to be this kind of man!" lanie’s emotions quickly built up to a peak; she couldn’t hold back and yelled.
lanie’s sudden outburst naturally puzzled Ethan, and he began to get angry, his tone becoming unpleasant: "Are you insane? Haven’t seen you in ages and here you are, just to argue with ?"
Ethan had initially planned to treat lanie well after not seeing her for days and even wanted to dismiss past grievances.
Who would have thought that this woman would escalate things; she went out and returned with an even worse temper.
"Argue with you? Why don’t you tell what you’ve been up to? When did you and that Avril get together? Recently or way before?"
At this point, lanie was clearly controlled by rage, paying no attention to Ethan’s face, and yelled at him.
After hearing this, Ethan was stunned, looking at her with shock.
"How did you know about this? Who told you?"
Knowing lanie was aware, Ethan’s first response wasn’t to admit his fault or clarify things, but to ask that.
At that mont, lanie realized that the person who sent her the texts wasn’t falsely accusing Ethan.
"Speak up! Who told you?" Ethan was already agitated, gripping lanie’s shoulders tightly with an intent that seed like he wanted to crush her bones.
"Let go of !"
