Damien Lancaster’s originally cold expression darkened inch by inch.
Behind him, Julian Jacobs covered his face, peering through his fingers at this intense scene.
The forr wife was truly fierce; no one had ever dared to speak to Damien Lancaster like this before.
Only she dared, and nothing would happen.
Damien Lancaster spoke in a deep voice, "Ivy Sumrs, when did you beco like this?"
The current Ivy Sumrs was like a firecracker, ready to explode at any mont, making communication impossible.
Listening to Damien Lancaster’s words, Ivy Sumrs’ icy lips curled slightly.
"Damien Lancaster, I’ve always been this way. It’s just that I had been tolerating all of you, leading you to believe I was easy to bully."
Rachel Shaw sniffled, tears falling like a string of broken pearls, "Ivy, please stop talking. It’s all my fault. You can hit or scold , but don’t take it out on Damien. It was my fault back then. If Damien hadn’t accompanied , you wouldn’t have been angry, and you wouldn’t have lost Damien’s child. I’ve felt guilty about this all along, Damien is innocent, and so is the child."
Ivy Sumrs frowned, looking at Rachel Shaw.
Rachel Shaw was actually sowhat smart.
She knew that five years ago, her mother’s death and Damien’s presence during her birthday were a sore spot for her.
And she knew aborting the child was a sore spot for Damien.
She deliberately brought it up now to stir up deeper conflict between her and Damien.
At this mont, Damien Lancaster’s originally dark eyes had lost any warmth.
Even though Ivy Sumrs knew she was being deliberate, she was still pained by this topic.
Just as she was about to speak, a strong voice ca from behind.
"Rachel, it’s not your fault. Don’t admit it."
The voice belonged to Seraphina Kennedy.
Seraphina Kennedy strode over, accompanied by two elegant friends who looked like they had just been shopping.
The three of them charged forward as if heading into battle.
"I just saw it all, Ivy Sumrs, how dare you hit Rachel? If you keep taking action like this, do you really think Rachel has no one to protect her?"
Seraphina Kennedy spoke bluntly.
Seeing this, Rachel Shaw’s tears welled even more, her eyes red as she looked at Seraphina Kennedy and called out choked with emotion, "Aunt."
Seraphina Kennedy originally disliked Ivy Sumrs, and hearing Rachel’s earlier words evoked old mories, making her even more rciless.
"Ivy Sumrs, do you have any dignity? Back then, you were the one who left Damien and aborted the child. These five years, Rachel has been by Damien’s side. Why are you constantly jealous and antagonistic toward Rachel?"
In Seraphina Kennedy’s view, Ivy Sumrs’ behavior toward Rachel was rooted in jealousy because Rachel was often with Damien.
"Back then, Damien did nothing wrong, yet you left him and even aborted the child. All the errors of the current situation are yours. You didn’t show remorse and instead bullied Rachel. The old man truly misjudged, letting you marry into the Lancaster Family."
Listening to Seraphina Kennedy, Ivy Sumrs’ brow and eyes were coated with a layer of frost, her hand hanging at her side clenched tightly, "All my fault?"
"Yes, it’s all your fault, from start to finish."
Ivy Sumrs laughed coldly, "Your son was involved ambiguously with another woman during our marriage—was that my fault? She knew he had a family and still tangled with him—was that my fault? These two ignored , the legitimate wife, flaunting their love online—was that my fault?
Seraphina Kennedy, you’re a woman too. If your husband was secretly involved with another woman, could you still say such things? Could you turn a blind eye and continue to be the housekeeper, raising children?"
Ivy Sumrs’ voice was firm and powerful.
Seraphina Kennedy was stunned by her questioning, montarily speechless.
She paused for several seconds before gathering the courage to speak, "I’m talking about you aborting the child; what are you going on about?"
"I’m telling you about the child; without the issues I ntioned before, would I have aborted the child?"
"Aborting the child is your fault." Seraphina Kennedy was hung up on the child issue.
Ivy Sumrs pressed her lips together, snickering softly before lowering her head.
Soone intent on turning a blind eye can never be restrained.
This family wants her child to return to the Lancaster Family.
Ivy Sumrs could imagine how her three children would be bullied if they returned to the Lancaster Family.
"Ivy Sumrs..."
"Enough!" Damien Lancaster rebuked, his handso face shrouded in gloom, "The past was my fault. I didn’t uphold my responsibilities as a husband to her."
"Damien?"
Seraphina Kennedy and Rachel Shaw looked at Damien Lancaster in surprise, not expecting him to speak this way at this mont.
Was he defending Ivy Sumrs?
Rachel Shaw bit her lip, softened her voice, "No, Damien, it’s not your fault; it’s all my fault. If I had been more sensible five years ago and hadn’t bothered you, all would have been well."
With that, Rachel Shaw reached out and embraced Damien Lancaster, sobbing against his chest with apparent remorse.
Damien Lancaster lowered his gaze and raised his hand, pushing Rachel Shaw away from his embrace.
Rachel Shaw lifted her gaze, tearful like a beauty in distress, captivating and fragile.
Ivy Sumrs watched in disgust.
These two were such pretenders; even trash bags couldn’t contain as much as they did.
"Beep! Beep!"
The horn sounded twice.
Ivy Sumrs glanced over; it was Ella Morgan’s car.
Ella Morgan, probably worried, had returned to pick her up.
Ivy Sumrs chose not to engage with them further, turned, and got into the car, leaving.
Rachel Shaw continued to cry, a sobbing ss, yet at an angle invisible to all, her eyes held a dangerous chill.
Ivy Sumrs, you laid a hand on , so I’ll lay a hand on your child.
She truly wanted to see Ivy Sumrs competing with The Lancaster Family for her children, finally witnessing the scene of the children being forcibly taken by The Lancaster Family, leaving her and her daughters separated.
"Damien, Aunt, actually, I’ve discovered sothing before, but never had the chance to tell you; it’s very important, and I think I ought to bring it up now."
Seraphina Kennedy asked, "What is it?"
"It’s about Ivy Sumrs and her child back then."
Hearing the word ’child,’ Seraphina Kennedy frowned and asked, "About the child? Ivy Sumrs’ child from five years ago?"
"Yes." Rachel Shaw nodded.
"Have you seen her child? Where?"
Rachel Shaw took Seraphina Kennedy’s hand, "Aunt, please calm down, listen to slowly. I’ve seen Ivy Sumrs with a child, and that child is currently at her house."
