Silas and Eric never had long, drawn out conversations but even in limbo, after over a century of separation he still had nothing to say to his father.

Eric settled down as Silas stood by his figure, staring ahead as if sothing lived in the distance. Nothing did...

"And here I thought you had changed," he sighed, resting his cheek on his fist.

"I am not sure how to respond to that," Silas didn’t even look his way.

"Haven’t you missed ?" the man pouted.

"Of course, I have," he said in the flattest tones to ever be.

"Oh, how lovely... Your wife was just here," Eric peered up, knowing full well the reaction his son would have.

Predictably, Silas dropped all attempts at composure and finally looked his father in the eyes, "When? Where did she go? How was she?"

The amusent that had appeared on Eric was very short-lived as a solemn outlook took his features over, "She ca around a few tis and I hate to say, things weren’t looking the cheeriest for her," after the shortest of pauses, he added, "Forgive , son. There was nothing in my power to do to keep her safe,"

"I have failed her more than you did. You have nothing to apologize for," he hissed through gritted teeth.

"Yes, that was quite the reaction you had," Eric nodded, "You could have handled things a little better. You have changed a lot since my ti, but it is natural for a man to worry about his family and loved ones,"

His legs weakened, threatening to falter. Silas was thus forced to take the space next to his father as well as a deep breath with it.

"Right now, things aren’t looking up for you either, I am afraid," Eric turned his face towards Silas but did not make eye contact, "You cannot remain around these parts for too long,"

"You wouldn’t happen to know where the nearest exit is then...," the silver haired vampire picked at the grass beneath them and yanked at the blades between his hands.

"You make jokes too now!" again, his smile was curt, "But no, there is nothing I can do from where I stand,"

"Then perhaps, you can make things easier for and tell what our unfinished business is so that I can move forward,"

At those words, Eric pushed himself off the ground and just went on... Walking away as if nobody sat behind him.

Silas sat in place for a good mont, wondering what was happening before finally copying his father’s action and following in his tracks.

"I’ll take it you have no clue as to what we are both doing in this place, do you?" he asked upon catching up with him.

"I answered the voice that called my na and since I am still here that ans I still have sothing to accomplish, but yes, I have no clue as to what it is," hands in his pockets, he ambled the boundless land with relaxed shoulders.

"Well, we better figure out what it is we need to solve and be done with it,"

"Always in a rush... Always so serious. I never understood who you take that after. Even your mother was never this strict," he muttered.

"And you’ve always walked with no weight on your shoulders," they walked next to each other without exchanging a glance, "It wouldn’t have killed you to put a thought into your next step for once,"

"Now, that cuts deep, son," he chuckled, "Blaming for my own death," the man clicked his tongue against his palate.

"Not the intention, but I suppose it is the impact that matters most,"

"How much more do you bla for? Go on then, speak your mind," not a lick of seriousness coursed his features at those words.

Had it always been that way between them? The constant bickering?

To a vampire, centuries flickered past like hours but a eting with a family mber after so long... It put things into perspective.

"Mother nearly died upon receiving the news of your demise," he declared dryly.

"That is sothing I already know," Eric looked downwards.

At least that had the rit of dimming that stupid grin on him.

True that. Eleanor had ntioned sothing about keeping tabs on her family. She was already aware of Arthur’s survival and his fate as well.

Grasping the rules of limbo wasn’t the easiest considering they weren’t voluntarily laid out before him, but he was getting the hang of it.

"She found herself soone new,"

Eric wrenched Silas out of his thought bubble.

"Edgar," he murmured.

"Tell her she should pursue him. She deserves to be happy and that young man seems to have a good head on his shoulders," after a chuckle he added, "At least, he seems to not get on your nerves as much as I used to,"

"He is human. Mother wouldn’t be able to handle another loss,"

"He doesn’t have to die,"

Those words rooted Silas in his spot, but as his diamonds daggered Eric, his father only laughed at his expression.

"What? You an to tell you still haven’t figured it out," he practically scoffed. Seeing the confusion on his son, the man just carried on, "Do you honestly believe your blood only cures ailnts? Didn’t you know that aging was also a sort of ailnt? It is no coincidence Morgana has survived for so long,"

"Morgana has her witchcraft," Silas refused to move until answers ca his way.

"We had a deal between her and us. She does her tests and keeps using your blood and in exchange, she does everything she can to protect you and be at your service whenever needed,"

It all hit him at once without rcy... It was all too much to unravel and consider.

"Does that an that Arabella...," he trailed off.

"Yes, your wife won’t age beyond her peak if she keeps consuming your blood, but for that, we must expel you out of this place first,"

The rigid, darkened glare that swept Eric’s features was a stranger on his face. It was one that Silas had never before seen him don.
