Chapter 524: Chapter 571: The Stormy Cave
Chapter Five Hundred and Seventy-One
“Then, what about the Bai Witch Sect? Could they also be very powerful?” Long Xiaoshan thought of a question.
Lan Wan’er tilted her head and said, “Almost, I guess. The Miao Frontier’s Black Witch and Bai Witch have been fighting for so many years. If one side was weaker, they would have been wiped out a long ti ago, so they must be roughly equal in strength.”
Long Xiaoshan was full of black lines in his head.
He thought he had picked up a beauty for nothing but ended up picking up a big trouble instead—a Black Witch Sect Saintess was headache enough.
Now there was a Bai Witch Sect Saintess. Did they want him to die faster?
...
Even if he was exceptional, he couldn’t possibly offend the two largest powers in the Miao Frontier consecutively.
If Lan Wan’er hadn’t acted mischievously and deliberately provoked Hua Die, he wouldn’t have ended up making her his handmaiden.
Long Xiaoshan beckoned Hua Die to co over and said, “The things I just said were just a joke. Saintess Hua, I think it’s better for us to part ways. I will be leaving first.”
As he spoke, Long Xiaoshan was pulling Lan Wan’er to leave.
Hua Die hurriedly stopped Long Xiaoshan and said, “Master, Master, you don’t want anymore?”
“It’s not that I don’t want you, it’s that we never really had anything to do with each other. I just saved him, that’s all. I’m a doctor, it’s my duty to save him, so don’t take it to heart.” Long Xiaoshan now just wanted to push the troubleso Hua Die away and certainly didn’t want to keep such a big trouble because of lust.
Seeing Long Xiaoshan insisting on leaving, Hua Die knelt down with a thump and said, “I have already made a vow, and the Life-bound Gu Worm has swallowed a thread of your essence blood. I am your person now. If you don’t want , then I have no choice but to die.”
After speaking, Hua Die took out a dagger and plunged it towards her own heart.
Long Xiaoshan was quick-eyed and quick-handed, he hurriedly grabbed her dagger and snatched it away, saying, “Have you gone mad?”
Hua Die remained silent, resisting with her silence.
Long Xiaoshan had no choice but to give Lan Wan’er a fierce glare and said, “Hua Die, get up. Alright, for now, you can follow by my side.”
Hua Die quickly climbed up from the ground.
Long Xiaoshan looked at Pan Hu, who was still unconscious on the ground; he couldn’t possibly carry him. It wouldn’t be proper for Hua Die and Lan Wan’er, two delicate won, to be carrying such a big man either.
Long Xiaoshan’s eyes shifted, he walked over to a few Xue Ling Sect mbers who were lying on the ground with severe injuries, took out the Golden Needle and poked them a few tis, and imdiately, two Xue Ling Sect mbers were able to stand up again.
He said, “Do you want to save your lives?”
Since the two Xue Ling Sect mbers had almost died at Long Xiaoshan’s hands, of course, they wanted to live. Hearing what Long Xiaoshan said, they quickly nodded.
“If you want to live, then carry that man for .”
Long Xiaoshan directed the two Xue Ling Sect mbers to lift Pan Hu and follow behind.
The group continued to walk deeper into the Death God Valley.
Boom!
Rumbles of thunder sounded from the sky, dense clouds began to gather, resembling tumbling black smoke filled with countless electric snakes. The weather changed abruptly—just monts ago the sky was clear, but suddenly dark clouds lood over as if it were night, making it difficult to see even one’s own hands.
Pitter-patter, large raindrops began to fall.
Long Xiaoshan and his group didn’t know where they had walked to.
The Death God Valley beca wider the further they went, enormous beyond asure. Even though Death God Valley was supposed to be at the foot of the volcano, in reality, it was not the case. With the walking pace of Long Xiaoshan and the others, several volcanoes could have been traversed already.
The rain beca heavier and heavier.
It fell as if from buckets.
Only raindrops could be seen in front of them; nothing else was visible.
Long Xiaoshan and his group were instantly soaked through.
Long Xiaoshan quickly activated Heavenly Eye to search for a place to shelter from the rain. The group ran in the rain for a while until Long Xiaoshan saw a cave and quickly said, “There’s a cave over there, let’s go and take shelter.”
As he spoke, he led a few people briskly over.
Finally, upon entering the cave, they found it quite spacious. The cave twisted and turned, and deeper inside, there was a small pool of very clear water. Long Xiaoshan tested it; the water (was) not poisoned.
After making a round in the cave, Long Xiaoshan confird there were no traces of insects or ferocious beasts. He said, “This place is good, we will stay here tonight, and we’ll see when the rain stops.”
Lan Wan’er and Hua Die, both extrely tired and soaked through.
Naturally had no objections.
Long Xiaoshan said, “You two wait here, I’ll go get so firewood. Don’t start fighting with each other, take good care of those two Xue Ling Sect people. If you get into a fight again, I won’t let it slide.”
Lan Wan’er, holding her butt, said, “Alright, I know.”
Hua Die humd in response.
Long Xiaoshan quickly exited the cave and, after about ten minutes or so, ca back carrying a big bundle of firewood and holding a wild rabbit. This rabbit was half a ter long, the size of a dog, complete with two sharp tusks. Such a rabbit did not exist in the outside world.
Upon Long Xiaoshan’s return, the two won indeed hadn’t fought. However, they sat far apart from each other.
Long Xiaoshan didn’t expect the two to be close, not fighting was good enough, he set down the firewood in a hurry to start a fire. The firewood was soaked through, but that was no problem for Long Xiaoshan. He took out a Fire Talisman and directly lit the firewood. The fla from the Fire Talisman was different from ordinary fire; it burned Spiritual Energy, even the wet firewood was ignited.
Once the fire was started, the temperature in the cave rose.
Since the cave was not small, Long Xiaoshan started a fire near the pool as well, telling the two won to dry their clothes there.
He then began butchering the wild rabbit.
This rabbit was very plump; even after skinning and gutting, it still weighed over ten pounds, enough to feed several people.
Just as he was about to find a stick to skewer and roast the rabbit, Hua Die ca out. Seeing Long Xiaoshan butchering the rabbit at, she quickly ca over and said, “Let do it, Master.”
“You will?” Long Xiaoshan looked dubious. Could a saintess really handle such tasks?
Hua Die seed to understand Long Xiaoshan’s doubts and said, “I often did these things when I was younger, and I’ve brought spices.”
Seeing Hua Die insist, Long Xiaoshan handed the rabbit over. Hua Die took out a knife, made several cuts on the rabbit’s body, took out various bottles and jars, poured out the powder inside, and rubbed it onto the rabbit’s flesh.
Then she placed the processed rabbit over the fire to roast. Half an hour later, the rabbit was roasted golden brown, emitting a rich fragrance.
