“Wait, let check.”
The ergency doctor rushed over and carefully examined Su Wu’s head. Su Wan and the others didn’t refuse. After the examination, the doctor’s expression beca increasingly shocked. The injuries on Su Wu’s head were obviously healed, and even the wound had closed up.
“How did you do it?” the ergency doctor asked, turning his head.
“I just used the ‘quack’ redies you ntioned,” Long Xiaoshan replied with a smile.
Long Xiaoshan’s sarcasm left the ergency physician’s face alternating between green and white.
However, the dical skill displayed by Long Xiaoshan truly left him speechless. It was his first ti witnessing traditional Chinese dicine being so powerful.
“I think it’s best to go to the hospital for a further check-up, especially since it’s a head injury,” the ergency doctor said.
Long Xiaoshan shook his head, “No need, I am confident that he has recovered. Wan’er, you can ask your brother.”
“Little Wu, how do you feel now?” Su Wan asked.
“Sister, I feel fine now, my head doesn’t hurt or feel dizzy at all,” Su Wu said as he sat up straight on the stretcher.
Su Wan had great confidence in Long Xiaoshan. Hearing what Su Wu said, she also felt relieved, “Then that’s settled. It’s late at night; let’s not make more trouble and skip the hospital.”
The ergency doctor frowned but seeing Long Xiaoshan’s calm and confident expression, he said, “Alright, since you insist, I won’t say anything more, but if you feel unwell in any way, you must hurry to the hospital for a thorough examination.”
“Of course, thank you, doctor,” Su Wan said politely. Even though the doctor had been rude at first, it was part of his duty. Put in his shoes, she wouldn’t dare let an unknown person treat a seriously ill patient, so she wasn’t angry.
The ambulance crew got into the vehicle and left.
Su’s parents walked up to Long Xiaoshan, about to kneel down, “Benefactor, thank you for saving our Little Wu.”
“Ah, Uncle and Auntie, please don’t do this. It’s too much for ,” Long Xiaoshan quickly said, holding back Su’s parents.
“We must thank you,” both elders said excitedly. Su Wu’s condition had been very critical earlier, and the doctor had made it sound very serious, saying he might not wake up. But Long Xiaoshan had cured him in just a few moves.
“Sister Su Wan!” Long Xiaoshan quickly motioned to Su Wan for help.
Su Wan hurried over and supported her parents, “Dad, Mom, Xiaoshan is a good friend of mine, a very nice person. Please don’t do this; I will thank him.”
“Alright, Little Wan, you must really thank this young man,” Su’s parents insisted.
“I know, I know. This isn’t the place to talk; let’s go ho first,” Su Wan said.
“Yes, yes, let drive you ho first,” Long Xiaoshan said eagerly.
The five of them walked out, Long Xiaoshan ushered them into the car, and as the car left the town health center, Su Wan turned her head, staring at Su Wu, and said, “Little Wu, didn’t I tell you to stay out of fights? What happened? How did it get so serious?”
“Sister, it’s nothing…” Su Wu’s voice was sowhat downcast.
“Still saying it’s nothing? Do you only want to learn your lesson by getting into a coffin? Do you know how close you were today to not waking up? Why can’t you give us so peace of mind? You’re all grown up, yet you show no sign of maturing,” Su Wan scolded sternly.
Su Wan was very angry.
Her younger brother had been naughty since he was a child, and he grew up to be no less troubleso, often getting into fights with others in the village. Whenever he went out to work, it wouldn’t last long before he was fired and sent ho for causing conflicts or fighting.
This wasn’t the first ti he had ended up in the hospital because of a fight.
But this ti, it had been so serious that he nearly lost his life, so how could Su Wan not be angry?
When she got angry, the air in the car seed to freeze.
Even Su’s parents didn’t know what to say, and Su Wu shrank his head; he feared nothing under the heavens or on the earth except for his sister. Their parents couldn’t control him, only Su Wan could hold him in check. Whenever Su Wan got angry, he would be exceptionally frightened.
“Speak up, weren’t you very capable? Now you’re as silent as a mute,” Su Wan shouted.
“Sister Su Wan, don’t be so angry, let’s talk nicely,” Long Xiaoshan spoke up.
“How can I talk nicely, he’s fighting every three days, do you think I’m not resentful? I work hard outside, and I don’t expect him to achieve much, just live a peaceful life, that’s all. Long Xiaoshan’s attempt at comfort only made Su Wan’s tears harder to control.
“All right, all right, don’t cry. I know you’re upset, but I’m here, aren’t I? From now on, let help you with anything, okay? Our parents are here; let’s not give them sothing to laugh at,” Long Xiaoshan put an arm around Su Wan’s shoulder.
Su Wan ca back to her senses and hurriedly lifted her head from Long Xiaoshan’s shoulder, wiping away her tears.
Her cheeks flushed red as she gave Long Xiaoshan a look. The comfort she felt a mont ago was moving, but then he started to be glib, saying things like “our father, our mother.” If it weren’t for their parents sitting in the car, she would definitely have had a serious talk with Long Xiaoshan.
Father Su and Mother Su exchanged glances and smiled faintly.
Even though they were just rural farrs, they weren’t without their shrewdness.
They could see that their daughter had an unusual relationship with this young man.
No wonder he had personally brought their daughter ho in the middle of the night, and she was dressed so beautifully. It was very likely that they had been on a date before returning. They had been worrying all along, with Su Wan already 26 and having never been in a relationship.
In the countryside, she would have been considered a leftover woman of marriageable age.

Long Xiaoshan turned his head to look at Su Wu.
At a glance, he could tell Su Wu was the sort that was particularly sly, with a monkey-like cunningness. However, to be beaten up so badly, it wasn’t just a simple fight; soone must have really been out to do harm, there had to be sothing deeper going on. He called out, “little Wu.”
“Yes, brother-in-law,” Su Wu called out sowhat ingratiatingly.
Su Wan’s eyes bulged as she barked, “What are you shouting for, are you courting death?”
But Long Xiaoshan chuckled, finding the kid quite interesting. He actually called him brother-in-law; this guy must have noticed that Su Wan felt differently about him, and was thus trying to gain his favor. That title of brother-in-law, though, made him feel quite satisfied.
Finding the kid a lot more agreeable, he mused that based solely on that call, he couldn’t let soone crack open his skull without consequence.
He said, “Tell the truth, how did you get beaten up? Don’t worry, as long as you’re in the right, no matter who the other party is, I can get justice for you.”
