Chapter 49: Report to

Tonight

Tony was silent for a long ti.

What Lily and Julie were expecting Tony to say... "Freedom for one month."

Even the peak master Natasha also doesn’t have any expectations for Tony... As she clearly heard about Tony’s deeds and reputation. That’s why she t him personally on the first day because she doesn’t want to see the chaos in her healing tower.

Full freedom. Obviously... No sane person in Tony Clark’s position would choose otherwise.

Tony looked at the floor for a mont, then looked up.

"If I speak truthfully, I don’t have any talent to beco a doctor or even a helping nurse," he said. "But rather than wasting the month doing nothing, I’d rather learn sothing. If you don’t mind, give

a task where I can assist your assisting doctor. She seems very pitiful."

Nobody spoke.

Lily and Julie turned to look at each other, the sa expression on both their faces.

Natasha studied him. Just for a second, sothing moved behind her eyes— a flicker of reassessnt, quiet and private. All those rumours... The evil boy... The black suitcase... The prince of the Clark family who terrorised his own relatives.

’Are they even real?’ she wondered briefly.

Then she straightened and folded her arms.

"Are you sure?" Her voice was level, no warmth in it, no mockery either. "This is not a joke, Tony Clark. I may be speaking casually with you right now, but if you take on a task from

and fail to deliver— I will not go easy on you."

"I’m more capable than you think, Peak Master," Tony said, without flinching. "I may have useless talent, but I am not lazy and I am not weak."

Natasha held his gaze for one more beat. Then she reached behind her and pulled out a thick, ancient-looking book from her shelf. She held it out.

Tony reached for it with one hand out of habit. The weight hit him imdiately and he grabbed it with both, barely keeping it level.

"morise every herb listed in that book and the foundational techniques of traditional dicine," Natasha said. "That is my personal reference— handle it accordingly. You have one week. If you cannot master it by then, you will spend the remaining three weeks cleaning every floor of this tower." She didn’t blink. "Understood?"

Tony stared down at the book cover.

’The Complete Canon of Traditional Healing Arts.’

’I am completely screwed,’ he thought.

Tony is expecting so tasks to help. Not a book reading punishnt.

Lily was barely containing it. Julie had pressed her lips together and was looking very deliberately at the wall.

"Husband," Lily said, choosing her words carefully, "why don’t you reconsider? It would be better to withdraw now rather than waste the Peak Master’s ti."

Natasha glanced at Tony. Waiting. Fully expecting the book to co back.

"I will morize it within one week," Tony said. He opened his storage ring and dropped the book inside before anyone could say anything else.

Natasha blinked. ’At the very least, he’s not a coward,’ she thought.

"Husband, what are you doing?" Lily’s voice had dropped... she was genuinely angry and keeping it controlled. "You agreed because of your ego. That’s all this is."

"I made my decision," Tony said. "Leave this matter."

"Do you know how worried I am?" She took a breath, and it ca out sharper than she intended. "Why won’t you listen to , just once?"

Tony opened his mouth to explain. She didn’t give him the opening.

"Enough." She turned to her sister. "Julie. Let’s go. Co find

when he changes his mind."

She walked away without looking back. Julie shot Tony one last look— sowhere between pity and exasperation and followed.

Tony stood in the corridor and watched them go. He scratched the back of his head and let out a long, quiet breath.

’So she really is hot-tempered,’ he thought, eyes still on Lily’s retreating back.

"Prince Tony." Natasha’s voice ca from behind him, composed and final. "Go and find my personal servant on the ground floor. She will take you to your room." A pause. "One week. Don’t go back on your word."

She turned and walked toward the observation room without another word.

Tony stayed where he was for a while after that.

The corridor was empty now. Just him and the disciple token Lily had pressed into his hand on the way out. He turned it over once between his fingers.

His decision had surprised everyone in that room, including himself if he was being honest. But he knew exactly why he had made it.

Emma Rock was in this tower, and she was in a condition that was entirely of his family’s doing. He needed to stay close. He needed to understand how bad it really was.

What he hadn’t planned for was Lily walking out angry.

He pushed that aside for now. There was a more imdiate problem. Soone had moved a lot of pieces to land him here specifically, and he still didn’t know what the board was supposed to look like once they were all in place. He needed information, and he needed it before his enemies finished setting whatever trap was waiting for him.

I have to move first.

He reached into his storage ring and pulled out the golden orb.

[Clark Family Network — Closed Group]

Hello, Clark family mbers. Rember ? I’m Tony Clark. All Clark family mbers currently present in the Nine Lotus Academy... report to

at the Healing Tower tonight. If you dare to ignore this command, you will face the consequences. Brother Leo, you are exempt. Cultivate hard.

He sent it and put the orb away.

He didn’t wait to watch the replies co in. He already knew what was happening on the other end... the ripple of shock moving through every Clark family mber who read that ssage.

Many imdiately rushed to et others. They were all wondering why Tony calling them suddenly.

Tony slid the orb back into his ring and stepped toward the lift.

’One week to morise an entire canon of traditional dicine. A five-star heaven blessed person lying unconscious. An unknown enemy who had spent considerable effort placing him exactly here. And now, a wife walking away angry on his very first day.’

He pressed the button for the ground floor and watched the doors close. ’What a headache...!’ Tony muttered with a heavy sigh.
