Chapter 48: Future Threat Detected...!
Tony’s eyes went wide as he recognised the assisting doctor beside peak master Natasha.
’It’s her... It’s definitely her...’
His mind went quiet in the way it only did when sothing genuinely blindsided him.
Images surfaced without permission— her delicate face, those naive eyes, skin like fresh snow, the warmth of her that one night, the way she had trusted him... that was never ant to happen.
"Emma," he murmured. "Emma Rock..."
’Future Threat Detected...!’ The system responded before the na had fully left his mouth.

Tony stared at the floating panel with utter shock.
Five stars heaven blessing... A Phoenix Physique... And she was already standing beside a Rank Seven doctor inside the Nine Lotus Academy.
’Emma Rock. The girl his mother had selected, convinced, and quietly arranged into a marriage that was never real. The girl Tony had spent one night with— a night that had cost her the Yin Flower— and who had been thrown out of the Clark household the very next morning like she had never been there at all. The Yin -flower was snatched from her by copulation... And Tony is the Main Villain in this...’
Tony had always known this day would co in so form. A villain like him, sooner or later, would stand across from soone the heavens had decided to favor. That was simply how the story goes... He had accepted that as a fact a long ti ago.
What he had not accepted... what he had genuinely never imagined... was that it would be her. And that she would already be this far.
’My family is finished, he thought, reading the warning again. There is no way I walk away from this clean. No doubt, she will do anything for revenge.’
Emma lifted her head.
Her eyes found Tony across the room— and everything in her face changed at once.
The needles slipped from her fingers.
For one long second she simply stood there, frozen, anger rising through her expression like heat through glass. Lily and Julie both noticed. The shift was too sudden, too violent to miss.
Then suddenly, she began shaking as a layer of frost began covering her like a snake skin.
It crept across her fingertips first— thin white crystals forming at the edges of her skin, spreading inward. Her breathing seized. Her body locked. And then she dropped, folding to the floor before anyone could move.
Seizures rolled through her in slow, terrible waves.
Peak Master Natasha abandoned the patient without a second thought and reached Emma in three steps. Her hands were already moving— reaching into her storage ring, pulling out several dried herbs and a small bronze fumigation device.
She loaded the herbs, ignited them, and guided the rising smoke directly to Emma’s nostrils, her expression tight with focus and sothing that looked very close to fear.
"What in the world..." she muttered under her breath, hands steady even as her voice wasn’t. "I never expected another attack before the full moon."
The seizures slowed. Emma’s breathing evened out slowly. Then she went still, unconscious but alive, her face pale against the floor.
Tony, Lily, and Julie stood in the corridor doorway and watched without a word.
Natasha called for servants with a single sharp command. Two arrived within monts and carried Emma carefully to an observation room down the corridor.
Natasha watched until the door closed, then turned back to her original patient— the one still lying on the treatnt bed with needles mapped across her face. She finished the procedure with the sa steady hands, as if she had not just spent ten minutes pulling soone back from the edge.
When the patient was done and escorted out by her attendants, Natasha finally stepped through the green curtains into the corridor.
She looked at the three people waiting there.
Lily stepped forward imdiately and gave a respectful greeting, holding out Tony’s disciple token with both hands.
Natasha took it. Turned it over once. Then looked up and studied Tony from head to toe.
"So you’re the famous evil boy," she said. Not unkindly... More like she was confirming a detail she’d been briefed on. "I’m still not entirely sure what happened— the Academy Master said he was sending you here. He also made it clear you have no talent for healing, and that you’d only be staying for one month."
She crossed her arms.
"So... What should I do with you? I can give you full freedom— your own room, no obligations, do as you please for the month... Or you can tell
if there’s sothing you actually want to learn. Your choice." She asked while staring into Tony’s eyes.
Lily and Julie both looked at Tony. They already knew what the answer would be. Full freedom, obviously. No work, no early mornings, no pretending to hold a syringe correctly. It was the only sensible option for soone who had been assigned here as a punishnt.
Tony was quiet for a mont.
"If you don’t mind," he paused for a second, "can you tell
what happened to that assisting doctor? Why did she collapse like that? Does she have a chronic condition?"
The question landed differently than anyone expected. Lily blinked... Julie turned to look at him. Natasha studied his face for a beat longer than necessary.
"What can I say?" Natasha let out a slow breath, her expression shifting into sothing heavier. "God is truly biased sotis. That girl was born with Heavenly talent. I found her collapsed at the academy gates and brought her for treatnt." She paused.
"Soone stole her yin flower. Because of that, her yin channels lost their foundation— she’s been withering from the inside ever since, like a plant with no water reaching its roots."
She glanced down the corridor toward the observation room.
"Every full moon she suffers a severe attack. I’ve been managing it, keeping her stable. But today’s attack ca early— sothing must have triggered it. I don’t know what yet."
Julie pressed her lips together. Lily’s eyes went soft with quiet pity.
Tony said nothing. He was doing the kind of thinking that didn’t show on his-face.
"How many more years can she survive like this?" he asked.
Natasha looked at him with mild surprise... it wasn’t the question she had expected next.
"It doesn’t have to be years. If she can hold on long enough to participate in the World Tree Blessing, her talent alone would guarantee a god-level response. That kind of blessing could restore everything." She was quiet for a mont.
"But whether she can last that long or not... I honestly don’t know. I pray the World Tree sends its blessing soon. That’s all I can do."
"She will survive." Tony said it quietly, almost to himself, his voice low enough that only he could fully hear it. His fists closed at his sides.
’She will definitely survive. How can she not when the heavens have claid her as their own child?’
Natasha watched him for a second, then shook her head slightly. "Anyway. That’s not your concern. Tell , one month of full freedom, or do you want to learn sothing from ?" She asked with an impatient look.
