The noon sun was scorching and rciless!

Amid the towering mountains of Ghost Ridge Palace, a young man in pajamas listened to the occasional beast roars from the primitive forest and watched the birds of prey soaring and gliding across the Sky Do, his face full of despair.

"Oh crap, oh crap! I didn't win the lottery or anything! How did I end up ti traveling?"

Su Jie held his head in his hands, his heart was collapsing at the mont.

As a hardworking worker in the new era, Su Jie had been diligently working for the past half year, sleeping later than a dog and getting up earlier than a rooster, all in hopes of one day making a na for himself.

As it turns out now, he indeed will make a na - yes, losing his head in the process.

In this deserted wilderness, Su Jie was not Bear; he didn't have wilderness survival skills, and besides, this was obviously a world with supernatural powers.

Su Jie had just crossed over and had seen a spider the size of a table hanging from the branch of an ancient tree— it almost scared Su Jie to the point of wetting himself. Luckily, the spider was busy eating its prey and ignored Su Jie, allowing Su Jie to escape safely.

Thus, in such dangerous wilderness, even survival expert Bear would likely et his end here, let alone Su Jie, a recently graduated college student with no skills.

Missing the wonderful life before, Su Jie looked down at the Ancient Mirror he held in his arms, its surface simple and bronze with rust texture—this ancient heirloom had inexplicably sent Su Jie to this world.

"Oh, you've really got into trouble!"

Su Jie gritted his teeth in frustration, though days in the new era as a nuclear-powered worker were tough, earning barely any money each month, at least there was no life-threatening danger.

Having crossed into this world, Su Jie was very self-aware, feeling he definitely wouldn't survive for three days.

Perhaps it was in response to Su Jie's thoughts, the forest ahead suddenly shook, and a twenty-ter long Two-headed Poisonous Python erged, flicking its tongue, emitting a dangerous aura.

Su Jie's whole body trembled, his pupils shrank violently, standing statuesque in place without moving, not out of composure, but sheer shock.

However, just as Su Jie thought he was dood, the Two-headed Poisonous Python didn't even glance at him, instead scrambling away as if sothing terrifying was chasing it.

Before Su Jie could react, a human figure flew from the sky.

"Two-headed Yin Water Python, Mid Grade Two Refining Gu Worm, not bad."

A hoarse voice rang out, and the fleeing Two-headed Poisonous Python raised its neck like it had t a natural enemy, issuing a warning hiss.

Whizz! A magical light flashed briefly, and the Two-headed Poisonous Python was instantly bound and enveloped by a large red net, its skin breaking, rolling on the ground, and finally lying exhausting, half-dead.

Only now did Su Jie clearly see that figure.

It was an elderly man dressed in a purple robe, about seventy years old, with a slim build, the most notable feature being his eyes—cold snake-like vertical pupils that made one's heart turn cold.

"Where did this outsider co from?"

The purple-clad elder was also observing Su Jie, seemingly surprised at how this oddly dressed human appeared here. Though this was the outskirts of Ghost Ridge Palace's territory, it was unusual for a regular person to wander in.

Imdiately, the elderly man noticed Su Jie looked at him cluelessly and made gestures, realizing Su Jie couldn't understand him.

"Not sure which remote village this ignorant child ca from."

The elder was enlightened; the Da Li Dynasty was vast, it was common for people from different places to speak different languages.

The elder glanced at Su Jie, examined his physical body, and checked his bones to assess Su Jie's potential. Though poor, at least he could cultivate. Their Demon Path didn't care about talent.

Without further ado, the elder waved his sleeve, and a rune ford in the air, entering Su Jie's forehead.

This was a Homophonic Talisman, allowing one to understand Da Li Dynasty's official speech.

Instantly, Su Jie's head felt soothingly clear.

"I am Elder Taoist Qiu from Ghost Ridge Palace, are you willing to beco my disciple?"

The purple-robed elder, Taoist Qiu, slowly spoke.

His disciples were recently reduced because other elders charged 5 Blood Marrow Crystals monthly as disciple sacrifice, while he doubled it to 10, making each disciple an automatic coin-spitting worker monthly—a considerable sum accumulating over ti.

Now Su Jie finally understood Taoist Qiu's words; in his current situation, if he stayed in the wilderness, there was only one dead-end.

Although Taoist Qiu looked at him with cold eyes, not like a good person, Su Jie had no choice.

"Master above, Disciple Su Jie, pays respect to you."

Su Jie was straightforward and kowtowed on the spot, thus becoming a disciple.

"Excellent, excellent, follow from now on."

Taoist Qiu was very pleased with Su Jie's wise choice, and as for Su Jie's background, he didn't care at all.

In the Demon Path, those who survive have the qualification to consider their background; most who enter the Demon Sect rely beco consumables. Studying them isn't worth the hassle.

Lifting Su Jie by the collar, Taoist Qiu grabbed Su Jie with one hand and the Two-headed Poisonous Python on the ground with the other, leisurely flying into the sky.

As the fierce wind blew past, Su Jie's inner unease gradually dissipated, a sense of excitent erged, he couldn't help but ask: "Master, your cultivation is so high, you must be a strong figure in the Righteous sect, I will surely make a na for myself, not shaming your reputation."
