Thomas Quincy was awakened by a burst of noise. He opened his eyes and then walked out, draping a coat over himself.
"What’s all this racket about?"
The servant at the door, seeing Thomas Quincy, imdiately spoke with trepidation, "M-Master, Clara Thornton entered the secret room with several n!"
Thomas Quincy’s face instantly darkened.
Clara Thornton entered the secret room?
He touched his neck and indeed did not find the necklace. That was the key to the secret room.
"What did you say!" He looked at the servant in front of him with an unpleasant expression. Feeling the strong gaze, the servant imdiately continued, "Clara Thornton and those n definitely wanted to find a place to have an affair, so they entered the secret room."
Soone else next to him said, "No, she definitely brought her lover in there to steal the Quincy family’s heirloom."
"No, definitely to have an affair."
"To steal sothing."
...
The two of them tried to mislead Thomas Quincy, speaking in turns. They were placed by Nancy Nash to deliberately cause Thomas Quincy to misunderstand.
No matter if Thomas Quincy misunderstood Clara Thornton for having an affair or stealing, her reputation would be tarnished anyway.
"What’s the matter? What happened?"
Nancy Nash walked out from the side.
The servant imdiately repeated what they had just said, and Nancy Nash gasped, "Oh my, Clara Thornton is so bold!"
She looked at Thomas Quincy and said, "Does she know you’re going to divorce her, so she’s trying to take advantage of the situation?"
After speaking, Nancy Nash hesitated before continuing, "I heard she’s tried to set you up a few tis—could it be she’s unsatisfied? Otherwise, why would she find several n..."
"Shut up!" Thomas Quincy snapped angrily.
Seeing him angry, a sly smile appeared at the corner of Nancy Nash’s mouth.
Her plan had succeeded, and now Thomas Quincy was certainly furious with Clara Thornton.
Thomas Quincy strode towards Eleanor Sterling’s room, with Nancy Nash frowning as she followed, "Thomas, are you going to get Clara Thornton out? I heard there are traps in the secret room; she might die in there."
When Thomas Quincy heard the word "die" from Nancy Nash, his heart sank, and he quickened his pace.
’Bang,’ Thomas Quincy kicked open the door.
Eleanor Sterling and Alaric Faulkner were cuddling closely when they saw Thomas Quincy with a murderous expression.
She chuckled lightly and said, "Thomas, do you have any manners? We’re just a couple sharing a mont, and you barge in like this. Do you think it’s appropriate?"
Thomas Quincy had no ti for pleasantries and asked directly, "Did Clara Thornton enter the secret room?"
"What secret room? I have no idea," Eleanor Sterling replied, seeing Nancy Nash behind Thomas Quincy, and decided to play dumb.
Thomas Quincy’s face darkened even more. He gritted his teeth and said, "Do you know there are traps inside the secret room? Clara Thornton, a woman with no strength, might die."
"What!"
Eleanor Sterling imdiately leaped up, rushing to Thomas Quincy, "Why didn’t you say so earlier!"
If she had known the secret room was so dangerous, she would have died before letting Clara Thornton in.
Thomas Quincy now confird Clara Thornton had gone in; without another word, he turned and left.
Nancy Nash imdiately followed him.
"Thomas, where are you going? Wait for ."
Eleanor Sterling watched Nancy Nash follow Thomas Quincy, feeling sothing was off, and imdiately called soone to inquire.
Soon, Eleanor Sterling learned that Nancy Nash had instructed the servants to fabricate rumors about Clara Thornton, and her face darkened with anger.
That damn Nancy Nash, doing so much and still trying to tarnish Clara Thornton’s reputation.
