Ever since Thomas Quincy rejected Nancy Nash last ti, he felt a shift in his mindset.

He thought he still liked Nancy, but that affection seed to be like an illusion, lacking any sense of reality.

It was as if soone inside him was telling him he liked Nancy, yet he felt no real emotional stirrings, which was really strange.

Just as he was trying to figure out what was going on with him, Clara Thornton asked to et him, saying she had sothing important to discuss.

Thomas arrived as promised, and as soon as he entered the villa, the door slamd shut with a ’bang’.

It felt like stepping into a trap. Thomas glanced back and wanted to check what was going on when Clara’s voice rang out behind him.

"No need to look, I specifically invited you here, already planned it out. It’s impossible for you to leave."

Thomas frowned at Clara as she slowly descended from upstairs. Today she was wearing a figure-hugging dress, making her look more gentle and glamorous, which stirred a bit of excitent.

So familiar scenes flashed across Thomas’s mind.

The instant stirrings of familiarity.

When he wanted to delve deeper, all those feelings vanished.

After a mont of pause, Thomas asked, "What do you want to do?"

"Don’t be so guarded. We’re still married after all. I just wanted to have lunch with you."

After Clara finished speaking, she moved to a position behind him, and Thomas then noticed the table was filled with various dishes. He pressed his lips together.

Seeing Thomas remain silent, Clara stepped forward, took his hand, and led him to the table to sit down.

She poured a glass of red wine and handed it to Thomas.

Thomas glanced at it, not taking it, "There’s sothing wrong with the wine. What are you planning?"

Clara: "..."

She originally planned to drug him directly, but never expected Thomas, a genius in toxicology, to see through it at a glance. It seed impossible to do anything without sacrificing herself.

Clara’s expression did not change as she slowly curved her lips and said, "There’s no need to be so tense, I just want to talk about our future."

Thomas frowned. What future could there be between him and Clara? They were about to divorce.

Suddenly, he felt a sense of reluctance arising within him, this strange emotion caught Thomas a bit off guard.

He looked at Clara, his face darkening.

Despite the reluctance in his heart, Thomas stubbornly said, "Have you thought it through? Are you willing to let and Nancy be together?"

Clara frowned, looking at Thomas angrily, gritting her teeth, "Do you really want to divorce to be with that woman? If she hadn’t done sothing to you, you would never have liked her."

"What do you an? What did she do to ?"

Clara originally didn’t want to reveal it, but she blurted it out in anger and regretted it imdiately.

Eleanor Sterling had said that before they obtained the antidote, they couldn’t let Thomas know, or it would be harder to manipulate him and administer the antidote later.

Now that she inadvertently let it slip, he would surely beco suspicious, making things even more difficult for them in the future.

Clara patted her forehead; why was she so impulsive, speaking without thinking.

To divert attention, she decisively stood up, snatched the wine glass in front of Thomas, and downed it herself.

Thomas looked at her sudden action, "You..."

Clara smiled and said, "The wine was heavily spiked with an aphrodisiac, originally intended for you. Now that you’ve found out, I had no choice but to drink it myself.

If you won’t help , then I’ll just go find soone else and turn you into a laughingstock."

Thomas glared at her with gritted teeth.

This damned woman! How dare she even try!
