Quincy Family, inside the bedroom.

Clara Thornton had beco the Lady of the Quincy Family for so ti now, and she still felt it was sowhat unreal.

She never could have imagined that she would end up entangled with a man like Thomas Quincy.

But he was quite responsible, taking accountability simply because he had been with her.

Clara had grown up in an orphanage, without any friends. Despite having no shortage of male admirers, she was solely obsessed with dicinal research and never paid attention to those people.

She had thought she would grow old and die in the lab, that this was her life to lead.

Unexpectedly, she also had a flash-marriage mont.

Thomas walked in from outside and saw Clara staring blankly at a dical report in her hands. He walked over and glanced, only to find she was holding the report upside down.

"What are you thinking?"

Clara was startled and imdiately snapped back to reality, "Nothing."

"Get ready. I’ll take you to the Quincy Family’s laboratory to teach you the Quincy Family’s Poison Technique. These are essentials you must know as the female head of the Quincy Family."

Clara mouthed, "Fine."

She had always been at odds with Thomas, arguing with him daily, but now she felt sothing different about him. She couldn’t say exactly what had changed.

Anyway, she had beco much more subdued in front of him.

It seed like she needed to be disciplined. After one good scolding from him, she beca obedient.

The two of them went to the lab. Clara, being naturally gifted, grasped the things Thomas taught her in just one go.

Now, she could say she had so insights into using poisons, and ordinary people might not necessarily surpass her.

She quietly glanced at Thomas, but he was still the most formidable. In the past, she couldn’t stand him in various ways, but she hadn’t realized he was this capable.

Seeing Clara sneak a glance at him, Thomas reached out and pulled her into his arms.

"Why are you looking at ?"

"No reason." Clara imdiately looked down, feeling guilty.

What girl doesn’t like a strong man? Naturally, she’d be attracted, especially since she was now his wife. Wasn’t admiring him perfectly normal?

"I’ve noticed you’ve learned how to lie."

Clara snorted and said, "Yes, I’m sneaking looks at you. What’s the problem? Do you lose a pound of flesh when I look at you?"

Thomas smirked, "I won’t lose a pound of flesh, but I think instead of being sneaky, you might as well look openly. Wherever you want to look, I’ll let you see."

Hearing his words, Clara rolled her eyes.

Indeed, she couldn’t think too highly of him; he still left her speechless.

Thomas, seeing Clara’s vivid expression, felt moved. He imdiately bent down slightly and scooped her up in his arms.

"Thomas, what are you doing? Put down now."

The man ignored her and walked directly toward the bedroom.

...

The next morning.

Clara woke up on the big bed and looked at Thomas beside her, an unconscious smile on her lips. Despite her body aching, she felt a touch of sweetness in her heart.

Suddenly, she thought marriage was actually quite good.

Thomas slowly opened his eyes, with a sowhat blank expression as he looked around, and when he saw Clara next to him, his pupils constricted.

Then his face darkened, and he looked at Clara with gloomy eyes, "Why are you here?"

Clara’s smile froze.

She was his wife; where else would she be if not here?

Moreover, it was he who had lured her into bed yesterday, and now he was questioning her—truly amusing.
