[Friday’s POV: ]

The red blast, no... it was a primordial curse.

"To think those bastards would go as far as this just to get rid of a few thieves."

"Those fucking bastards."

It was devastating how suddenly it manifested and even more surprising how we are cleaning up the ss that curses left behind right now.

"Fuck those fucking bastards... I am going to kill every single one of them."

The twelve of us, including the archmage who was still out cold, were the only beings that survived in this entire area. The children that Miss Queen had left around this place as guards, the tad beasts that I had left around, as well as the wolf that Nicholous had been feeding since yesterday all of them, lost their lives, and the scattered leaves on one side, since the trees lost all their life force, the soil they were on had started decaying.

And the lack of life in this area had turned it into a hotspot for the corrosion-loving beings.

’Undead that liked lifeless lands like these, dark spirits and ghosts were now gathering around this place, which certainly was no good thing since just a few distances away from this barren land, the capital city of the nation of light was located.’

If we leave this thing as it is, the normal people who had nothing to do with any of this would die at the hands of these powerful spiritual or undead creatures as well.

And that isn’t sothing our noble-hearted captain would allow.

So cleaning was going on right now where I was assigned the cleaning work, and the others who had lost soone precious to them, like Q and No.9, were dealing with the creatures that were being attracted to this lifeless land...

"Where the hell did they even get their hands on that kind of curse anyway?"

I couldn’t understand this simple-sounding thing.

A primordial curse wasn’t sothing just anyone could get their hands on unless they had an absurd amount of Oz and a good enough dinsional rchant, or soone who could create a device that could create and contain this kind of curse.

There was no one that could create sothing like that in this world, that much I already knew. I know even a master would need a few months to create sothing like this.

"The rchant... it must be him that supplied this scary curse to the alliance.

They knew we were coming, so those fucking bastards played that kind of trick."

"Captain is right... that voice we heard before the light explosion, I recognize that voice. It was from the head of the magic side, the person that is said to be on the verge of breaking through to the realm of the archmage, the one they call Light’s Necromancer."

King of Clubs, The Apothecary, or Nír Amań used to be a famous figure in the underground a few centuries back so he knew many figures that are famous even to this day.

One of them, as he just said, was The Light’s Necromancer, head of the mage faction and soone that had control over light and dark elents to the sa degree as this bastard with us had the control over fire-wind-water attributes.

He was not a necromancer who dealt with the dead but a special case that made light attributed soldiers from the souls of ’good’ individuals.

Everyone knew that bastard since he was also one of the elimination targets Master was concerned about, but since he was soone who was going to be assigned to the House of Spades, I wasn’t supposed to concern myself with him or the other elimination targets.

We were the Clubs, and our role in this organization was so related to the political power of the world, the stability and the things related to the common population, the agriculture, and the foundation of the world.

Dealing with the threats would be done by the House of Spades and they would start their operations sooon as well since Master and Lord Lucy had already insisted on gathering all the mbers of that house.

But their training was still left so they were still not ready yet.

’Anyway, I never thought that three-faced battered head mage could amass enough funds to purchase a deadly weapon like this one.’

Every single one of us including a semi-celestial being like myself could have died if that course had even touched us.

"Those damned bastards..."

Primordial Curses, as the people of this world know of it, were simply one of the curses from the ancient tis of this world.

They weren’t sothing that could be produced in an era like this one so it was obvious that anyone who got it must have pursued it blindly from soone who had the capabilities of creating a curse like that And storing it in a kind of device that could trigger this curse in just a spilled second.

’We would have definitely died for real this ti.’

And it was called a curse because the death that we would have suffered through this ans would have ant the real kind of death. Resurrection would not have worked on us.

{ "Woh... who would have thought you all would face (Curse of decay) hahaha." }

"Hmm?"

We all heard a familiar voice from above us, and imdiately stopped what we were doing and looked up.

’Master?’

Why was she here? And why was she laughing?!

{ "Anyway, it’s good that you all are alive." }

In the vast area where I was in the center, the Captain and The Apothecary were on the left side, Miss Queen, No.9, No.7, and No.5 were on the front lines fighting the creatures coming to this place, and the others were at the back... she was floating above us in her mask and the special outfit, using her altered voice that all of us were familiar with.

’What was she doing here when she was supposed to be with the others? It was late evening so they should have been talking about their dinner by now... there was no need for her to co here personally even if sothing like this had happened.’

I an, yes the curse could have decomposed our ntal bodies which would have ultimately killed us for real, but thanks to her special high enchantnt [Mirror Walls] cast on our masks, we were invincible against small curses of this world.

’According to her, we were practically immune to anything that could affect our balanced state. Even the divine punishnts and the debuffs cast by the most powerful beings of this world.’

As long as we had our masks on, even Primordial curses couldn’t touch us and she knew that the best since she was the one who created these things in the first place... but she was still here?

Just to check up on us?

As her first summons, I knew that was not the case...

{ "Gather, everyone." }

-Snap!

She commanded after snapping her finger and covering the entire lifeless area in a special barrier that no unpermitted being could cross, blocking the creatures that needed all our combined efforts without even using much of her strength.
