Hearing the noise, Lin Qiao turned her head, "Why did you co back so quickly? Didn’t you chat with Bao Ying for a bit?"
Song Tingfan nervously glanced at her twice and then took out a leaf-wrapped bundle of raspberries from his sleeve for her, "We didn’t talk much."
He sohow knew she was upset, which made him a bit happy.
"What?"
Lin Qiao wasn’t as involved in his inner drama. She took it and opened it to see the red raspberries. She took one and put it in her mouth—it was sweet and sour.
"Delicious, you should have so too."
Seeing that he didn’t eat, she instinctively reached to feed him, but quickly realized how inappropriate it was, imdiately pulling back her hand.
But before she could withdraw, a strong hand held hers, and Song Tingfan bent down to eat from it, smiling at the corners of his lips, "Delicious."
Good-looking people don’t even need to try; they just naturally exude charm.
Feeling sowhat bashful, Lin Qiao awkwardly pulled back her hand, "Then you eat it all." After saying this, she shoved the raspberries back into his hand.
Ahem, if this continued, she couldn’t bla him for taking advantage.
Her earlobes were noticeably red, and Song Tingfan silently chuckled, then handed the raspberries back to her, "I’ll make dinner." He then briskly rolled up his sleeves.
Before long, outside ca Li Guifen’s signature loud voice, "Daughter, daughter!! Co out for a mont."
Lin Qiao quickly went out, noticing that Li Guifen stood at the doorway with a basket, refusing to co inside. She asked puzzledly, "Co in."
"No, I won’t. The food’s ready at ho." Li Guifen mysteriously handed the basket to her, whispering, "Give this to Tingfan to drink. He must drink it."
Lin Qiao instinctively felt it wasn’t anything good, "What is it?"
"Don’t worry about what it is, just make sure Tingfan drinks it." Li Guifen gave her a few more instructions before waving her goodbye.
Lin Qiao looked at the basket while walking, finding just a bowl of soup inside. She leaned over to sniff it but couldn’t identify what it was.
Thinking Li Guifen wouldn’t harm Song Tingfan, she didn’t question it further, entered the kitchen, and handed him the basket, "Mom sent so soup, drink it while it’s hot."
As the bowl neared his face, Song Tingfan imdiately recognized what kind of soup it was. He looked up at her, then lowered his head and drank it in one gulp.
Not long after drinking, he felt a wave of heat through his body.
A while later, Lin Qiao noticed his face was unnaturally red, "Are you feeling unwell?"
Song Tingfan shook his head, "I’m fine."
His throat was hoarse, and Lin Qiao stood to check his forehead; it was burning hot. Her expression changed drastically, "You’ve caught a chill; I’ll go call a doctor."
Song Tingfan pulled her back, "No, it’s fine."
He paused for a mont, and explained, "Goat whip soup can make you feel hot."
Goat whip soup?
Lin Qiao was montarily stunned, quickly understanding what it ant, "..."
Li Guifen had given Song Tingfan an aphrodisiac soup.
Ahem, ahem, ahem...
She quickly explained, "I didn’t know, Mom didn’t tell , really."
"Hmm." Song Tingfan, now a bit dizzy from the heat, felt Lin Qiao’s alluring aura intensifying. His throat involuntarily moved up and down twice.
Soon after, he turned away, striding out of the kitchen.
Lin Qiao didn’t know how he managed to cool down, only that when he returned to the kitchen, he had changed clothes, and the air between them was sowhat awkward.
If the mutton soup delivery at noon wasn’t enough, Li Guifen sent so again in the evening. Lin Qiao, a bit exasperated, shot her a look, "Mom, who told you to make goat whip soup?"
"No one, I cooked it myself. Quickly, give it to Tingfan. I heard that as long as he drinks ten bowls, he’ll definitely get soone pregnant." Li Guifen insisted.
Lin Qiao’s brow twitched; she didn’t know if ten bowls would lead to pregnancy, but she knew Song Tingfan probably couldn’t handle drinking ten bowls.
"No way, you should take it back for Dad to drink."
As soon as she said it, Li Guifen’s face went red with embarrassnt, "How can you have no manners, girl? Ahem, your dad doesn’t need this stuff."
Though Lin Shan was around forty, he still had quite a lot of energy.
"Even you feel embarrassed, Mom, so why shouldn’t I be? Tingfan already drank it before; what would it look like to keep giving it to him?"
"What’s there to be embarrassed about? This kind of thing is just the way it is."
No matter how hard Li Guifen pressed, Lin Qiao had no choice but to take it, though she definitely wasn’t going to let Song Tingfan drink it again. Her gaze fell on Lai Cai and Jinbao.
She poured it into the dog bowl, where Lai Cai and Jinbao scrambled to drink it.
Before long, she got her "couppance"; after a while, Lai Cai and Jinbao started getting restless, and between their jumps, she saw the dogs’...root, "..."
Song Qin and others saw it too, and Song Rong quickly got up to chase them outside, "Stupid dogs, what are you doing? Get out!"
Lai Cai and Jinbao weren’t listening at that mont. Song Tingfan got up and chased them out of the yard, turning back to see Lin Qiao, "Ti to go back to the room and sleep."
"Okay." Lin Qiao sheepishly left the scene of the incident.
...
The dog barks were particularly noticeable that night, occasionally interrupted by a man from a household shouting, "Stop barking, go find a female dog if you’re in heat!"
"Whoever owns a female dog, let her out already, it’s driving crazy."
Lin Qiao’s lips twitched slightly before her gaze landed on the man sitting up straight, reading.
Ahem, he should be alright, right?
The man seed to have eyes in the back of his head as he turned to look at her, eting her pretty almond eyes, and softly said, "Not sleeping yet?"
"I’m about to." feeling sheepish, Lin Qiao pulled the quilt over herself and lay down to sleep.
At this mont, his deep voice sounded again, "Lai Cai and Jinbao couldn’t handle it; next ti, just give it to ."
Lin Qiao: "..."
"That soup is too much to handle. Tomorrow, I’ll tell Mom not to make it anymore."
"Fine." Song Tingfan closed his book, ca over to lie down on the bed, and then reached out to pull the quilt over her a bit.
Worried about annoying her, he didn’t linger long, quickly withdrawing his hand.
The night passed, and in the morning, a carriage left the village.
Fan’an Shop
Jiang Ming was sweeping the ground outside, and upon seeing the shop’s carriage, he happily went over to greet them, "Big Boss, Boss." With that, he quickly took out a stool to help them off the carriage.
Song Tingfan got off first, followed by helping Lin Qiao down from the carriage.
"Boss, I haven’t seen you in a few days, and you look even better now, all rosy." Jiang Ming laughed and flattered.
Lin Qiao was amused and waved her hand, "Go get busy, we can talk later when there’s ti."
In the backyard, Lin Qiao took the bundle from Song Tingfan’s hand and sincerely said, "You should get so rest, you got up too early today."
She also needed to go back to sleep for a bit. Today, she had gotten up too early, and after last night’s events, she hadn’t slept well.
She clearly ant that they shouldn’t sleep in the sa bed anymore, and Song Tingfan, feeling sowhat stifled, pressed his lips together and said in a low voice, "Fine, I’ll move things over and then sleep. You rest first."
Move over?
Those simple words took Lin Qiao a mont to comprehend—he wanted to move in with her.
She coughed lightly, "My bed’s too small; you won’t be able to stretch your legs."
"Then move to my room." Song Tingfan took her bundle and went straight to his room.
Lin Qiao was left stunned, and then slightly exasperated.
This kid couldn’t be raised properly now.
