Aviris sighed in relief as she sat down in the carriage.
"I never want to do that again..." She muttered as Eleanora entered the carriage last.
"It wasn't that bad, was it?" Veronica asked as Lyra attempted to cling to her, only for Cassidy to get in the way.
"Well, maybe if I wasn't an assassin, then no, it wasn't. But my people had to hope an assassin would pick the best choice for their people. And the assassin's choice was soone who couldn't be certain in what they can do." Aviris chuckled weakly. "So, back ho then..."
"Well, not yet." Veronica corrected, turning everybody's head. "You see, the village where Cass and I are from are holding a celebration on my receiving of a title. So, I thought it might be nice to stay a night there before we go back to the Capital."
"How intriguing... Sure, I've never been to a back- ahem, a normal event." Eleanora claid, fixing her words.
"Umm, Ver, there is one slight issue about that though." Cassidy interrupted.
"What issue?"
"Ahem!?" Cassidy cleared out her throat, motioning to Veroncia's horns.
"O-Oh yeah... I forgot... uh... how... would I explain this?"
"Huswife drank potion! Heard many people talk about body changing potions. Sothing about them being bad. No idea why, but potions... what is word? Uh... they turn people to goo." Lyra said, trying to worm, or rather snake, her way between Cassidy and Veronica.
"That's perfect Lyra!" Eleanora exclaid, patting the snake girl on the head. "She's right. Body changing potions do exist, but they've been banned for a while. However, we have so alchemists trying to study how to create them safely, without the inhumane experintation. You can claim that you're testing out one of these potions. Of course, that can only work for so long, but a night shouldn't be too bad."
"I see. Yeah, that could work for now. But considering the marriage... I might actually have to talk to Hekna and Kazue about it..." Veronica said to herself, sighing.
"About what?" Aviris asked.
"Oh, nothing, just a skill that I can upgrade. But I would get the ability to change my form."
"But I love my big boobed Ver!" Cassidy whined.
"Don't worry Cass, I'm not gonna get rid of those. I'm just gonna see if I can at least temporarily get rid of these demonic features. Don't want the public to freak out when the see that a Demon is marrying the Firsf Princess."
"Veronica, dear, you're a woman who has a penis. They're going to freak out regardless." Eleanora said with a slight chuckle.
"Right... how could I forget that that's not typically normal?"
Their chat was long. Jokes, laughs, the occasional sentence from Lyra showing that she definitely needs a teacher. Though, their ride was also long. But, they finally made it.
Back to where it all began. The small, quaint village Veronica and Cassidy grew up in.
