The next day, without waiting for Elr and Grethia to wake up, Ard, Eva, and all their friends—along with Thorena and Kresus—set off on Murmic’s zeppelin to a cliff jutting out over the ocean. As they stood on the sandy cliff, they all looked out at the vast horizon; however, unlike the beautiful surface seas that were bright and blue during the day, the ocean in Le Rein Infernal looked dark. The waves crashed without a sound, making it appear terrifying, and lightning like electric shocks struck the dark surface of the water.
"Wow... it’s far different from the ocean on the surface... this sea is terrifying," Pyria murmured.
"I can’t imagine crossing this ocean using a ship alone... ugh... I don’t want to imagine it," Milia added.
"Hmm... if we cross to the continent that is said to be on the other side according to legend... it ans we would be right beneath the Ateras Kingdom," Ainsley murmured while adjusting her glasses and looking toward the sea.
"True, that ans we’ll be returning to our own continent, Ainsley," Claudia added while staring at the terrifying ocean in front of her.
"I hate the sea even on the surface... let alone here," Beatrice said while rubbing her upper arms.
"For once, I agree with you, Princess," Rosalind added.
"This is... interesting. The waves in this ocean aren’t normal; it looks like sothing is stirring the water," Mirea murmured.
"Oh... you’re right. Besides, why are there so many whirlpools? It’s strange and scary," Alicia added.
"But it looks like fun, doesn’t it?" Adeline added.
"You really aren’t afraid of anything, are you, Adeline?" Alicia scolded, holding Adeline’s hand.
"Yep, I’m not scared at all," Adeline replied proudly.
Irwin and Irina remained silent, but their eyes were fixed on the terrifying sea stretching across the horizon. anwhile, Ard and Eva stepped to the edge of the cliff, with Kresus, Thorena and Geoffrey behind them. Once they reached the edge, Ard and Eva pulled their swords from dinsional storage and raised them high.
"Lucathan, we have co!" Ard and Eva shouted together.
Their voices echoed, filling the silence of an ocean where not even the sound of the waves could be heard. But before long—"splash"—the sound of a massive surge of water rang out. From the edge of the cliff, very slowly, the head of an incredibly enormous dragon erged, until everything turned dark because the dragon’s head looked like a massive island, complete with eyes, a snout, and whiskers on both sides of its mouth.
Kresus, Thorena, and Geoffrey imdiately backed away, their faces pale, as did the others; even Adeline, who had earlier said she wasn’t afraid, instantly hid behind Alicia. Naturally, they recognized the giant, island-sized dragon they had seen underwater when their ship passed over its head on the surface, but this was the first ti they had seen the dragon’s true form.
Lucathan slowly brought its face closer to the cliff below and gazed at Ard and Eva. Its eyes, which were initially sharp, imdiately softened and turned round; its whiskers coiled around them as if stroking Ard and Eva.
"Finally, we et again," Ard said with a smile.
"How have you been, Lucathan?" Eva added, smiling as she held onto the dragon’s whisker.
The giant dragon nodded. Suddenly, its body emitted a brilliant light, causing everyone to shield their faces with their arms, except for Ard and Eva, who simply returned their swords to their dinsional storage. Not long after, the light dimd; everyone opened their eyes and were shocked to see that the giant dragon in front of them had vanished. In its place, a young girl whose entire body was enveloped in a blue glow hovered above Ard and Eva before slowly descending to land on the cliff right in front of them.
When the light disappeared, the form of the little girl was revealed as she closed her eyes. She had blue hair, wore armor made of shells that shone like polished tal, and wore a tiara filled with pearls. Her face was incredibly beautiful, and she had blue scaled legs like a fish, though they were not a fish tail. When she opened her eyes, they were a stunningly beautiful blue with long eyelashes.
Then, the girl looked at Ard and Eva; a wide smile instantly appeared on her face, and she jumped to hug both of them around their necks.
"How are you, Ashton, Esralda? I’ve missed you guys. It has been such a long ti since we last t," said Lucathan, who had now transford into a little girl.
"Hey... Luca, it’s good to see you again," Ard replied.
"Yes, it’s been 3,000 years since we last t, hasn’t it?" Eva added.
Watching the scene unfold before them, Thorena and Kresus looked as if they were witnessing sothing magical and utterly unbelievable. Their eyes widened and their jaws dropped as they tried to process exactly what was happening in front of them. Even Geoffrey, Alicia, Milia, Pyria, Beatrice, Rosalind, Mirea, Claudia, Ainsley, and Irwin—who had already t Lucathan on the surface—were a bit shocked to see Lucathan’s transformation and how incredibly close she seed to be with Ard and Eva. Only Adeline and Irina stood by, rely confused by the sight before them.
"Luca, my na is Ard now and she is Eva. We aren’t Ashton and Esralda anymore," Ard said.
"Huh... really? Hmm... your faces are indeed a bit different, but your energy is the sa," Luca murmured.
"Yes, we have reincarnated from who we were 3,000 years ago," Eva replied.
"Oh, I see. Fine then, I’ll call you Ard and Eva," Luca replied casually.
"Yes, thank you, Luca," Ard replied.
Then Luca climbed down from Ard and Eva’s embrace and stood in front of the two of them, gazing up at them.
"So... are you here just to visit , or do you need sothing from ?" Luca asked, her face suddenly turning serious.
After that, Luca tilted her head to the side and looked at everyone standing behind Ard and Eva, also spotting the large zeppelin behind all of them.
"And who are they?" Luca asked seriously.
Ard and Eva imdiately explained everything. They also introduced everyone one by one, including Kresus and Thorena. Rosalind could be seen firmly gripping Adeline’s shoulder, holding her back so she couldn’t move, as she had montarily wanted to rush forward and hug Luca. When Ard asked Luca whether anyone had crossed the ocean carrying a Githiess egg, Luca imdiately began thinking hard, pacing back and forth in front of Ard and Eva as she pondered.
Then Luca looked at Thorena. She froze for a mont before running past Ard and Eva. She stood directly in front of Thorena, who looked terrified and confused as Luca examined her face from a very close distance. With narrowed eyes and one eyebrow raised, her face locked in deep, serious thought, Luca suddenly looked cheerful, like soone who had just experienced an epiphany. She pointed right at Thorena’s face with one hand on her hip, causing Thorena to stiffen.
"Her... there was soone who once crossed the sea alone carrying a Githiess egg... her face looked just like hers. I actually helped her cross because she was carrying the egg," Luca said cheerfully.
Instantly, everyone turned to look at Thorena, including Ard and Eva, who spun around. Without a word, it was perfectly clear that the person Luca ant was Lugerna, Thorena’s biological older sister, whose face surely resembled Thorena’s.
"Is... is that true? Does that an my sister Lugerna is on the other side?" Thorena asked.
"Yep... I made sure she reached the shore," Luca answered proudly, her hands on her hips and her chin tilted up with a wide smile.
"Now everything is clear. Lugerna is on the northern continent. We just need to wait for Elr and Grethia to wake up and hear their story about what happened," Ard said.
"That’s right. Thank goodness the second princess, Lugerna of the Grimgrath Kingdom, made it safely to the other side," Kresus replied.
"Okay, everything is clear now, right? Now, I want to ride that," Luca said, pointing to the large zeppelin behind them.
Everyone imdiately turned to look at the zeppelin, then turned back to look at Luca. Ard and Eva approached Luca and crouched down in front of her.
"Are you okay joining us in this form?" Ard asked.
"Can you last long in this shape? Back then, the Dragon God Bedryt couldn’t stay in his human form for long except within his own realm," Eva added.
"Huh... he’s old. I’m young and full of energy, so of course I can last a long ti in human form in this world... I take walks on the northern continent all the ti, you know... but on the surface, I can’t stay human for very long... besides, if I co along, I can imdiately wake up those two unconscious people you ntioned earlier, right?" Luca said casually.
"Oh... I see," Ard and Eva replied, looking at each other with confused expressions.
In the end, Ard and Eva brought Luca with them and boarded the zeppelin, preparing to return to the Tartagia Kingdom to et Vogir, as well as Murmic, who was currently at the Tartagia Kingdom watching over Elr, the crown prince.
