I swear, I wouldn’t be caught dead having a al with soone else’s lover and creating a misunderstanding, but how was I supposed to know such a thing like this would happen?
If I knew she would be here, I would’ve picked another restaurant.
The reviews of this restaurant were good. That was why I decided to try it out but look here. Look what I’d landed myself into.
"What are you doing here?" Jin-Yeok asked her and my eyebrows shriveled.
What do you an by that? This is a restaurant. What do you think people do in a restaurant?
I hadn’t turned around yet but I could already feel this lady’s gaze piercing into my skull from behind.
"Jin, I thought you said you were busy," she said, finally tearing her gaze away from but it did not make feel any better.
This scenario was oddly similar to those dramas with a cheating boyfriend. I pursed my lips, holding my breath.
I was definitely playing the role of the side chick.
"I am busy," Jin-Yeok said, getting up from his seat.
Wait, no. Where are you going? Can’t you just say your hi’s and be done with it? I know she’s your girlfriend but you don’t have to stand up, do you?
"It doesn’t look that way to though," she said and glanced at again. "Is it a business eting? Is this one of your partners? If so, I’d like to apologize."
Not with that tune, you aren’t.
It’s clear she was trying to pick a fight even though she did not know who I was.
Maybe she had been watching for a while, trying to assess the situation, and when it looked like I was more than just a business partner, she decided to confront us.
"He isn’t a business partner," Jin-Yeok said and I began to sweat. "Jo-Pil," he called and I had no choice but to raise my head. "Let introduce you,"
I guess I had no choice but to get up and greet her, even if I didn’t want to. But why was Jin-Yeok acting so calm?
He had such a clear conscience that he had no problem introducing , his breeding Oga, to his lover who was also an Oga but far inferior.
Did he not know how this would make her feel? Or was he simply just expecting her to understand?
Well, it didn’t matter to . All I wanted was to get out of that situation as fast as possible.
"This is Su-Yeon," he said, and I was expecting so other detail, but he did not include it.
I don’t know if he purposely left out the detail that she was his girlfriend, so I wouldn’t feel comfortable, but that girl was not taking it lightly as she glared daggers at when Jin-Yeok wasn’t looking.
"Su-Yeon, this is Hwang Jo-Pil." He said and I stretched my hand out for a handshake, smiling innocently.
"Hi, it’s nice to et you." I said but this lady spared half a glance before turning to Jin-Yeok.
Was this jealousy I was seeing? She was being so pettily rude to before she even got to know .
"Jin," she called. "... Is this ’that’ Jo-Pil?" She asked and I could be sure that Jin-Yeok told her about .
So, was she going to shake , or should I just drop my hand? It was awkward staying like that so I decided to just drop my hand since she ignored first.
"Yes, that’s right." He answered calmly and her expression darkened.
"Isn’t he supposed to be a breeder?" She suddenly asked and I flinched.
Jin-Yeok’s expression slightly shifted but he tried to retain the smile on his face. We were in public and we had such an eye candy in our midst... I an Jin-Yeok... So there was quite the attention on us. And still... She didn’t hesitate to call a breeder so boldly and loudly.
’Jeez, she must really hate .’ I thought and lowered my head. I didn’t feel bad or anything like that. I just felt I needed to lower my head to fit in the situation, but Jin-Yeok misunderstood my action as being affected by her words.
"Su-Yeon, why are you using that term?" He asked her. "You said you wouldn’t interfere. Are you going back on your promise?"
Wait, why was his tone quite cold? I thought he absolutely adored Su-Yeon. So why was I seeing sothing different?
Wasn’t he supposed to cajole her and assure her that nothing was going on? He was treating her like she was just his friend who didn’t have any right to interfere in his affairs.
And she felt it too. She felt the coldness and indifference in his tone so it got her angry.
"I wouldn’t have been this bothered if I didn’t end up seeing what I saw." She said, her tone spiteful with resentnt. "You two were laughing as if you were on a date. That isn’t what you told . You told you would only do what you must with him and once he gives you the child you want, you’ll be done with him. So why?"
She gritted her teeth, fighting back the anger and hatred she had for as tears wheld up in her eyes.
"Why are you two out on a date?"
Jeez, I think she thought too deeply about our little outing. Though, most of it did seem like we were out on a date but that’s not it. We really only ca out so I could catch a breather. I’ve been cooped up in that mansion for a week without seeing the outside world.
And we happened to share a conversation that we both find funny, so that’s why we laughed. It wasn’t like I was stealing her man. I never entertained that thought.
And still, I could not say these words in front of her and simply waited for Jin-Yeok to respond.
Su-Yeon wouldn’t have cared much if her boyfriend was simply screwing the original Jo-Pil in order to get an heir and nothing more, but it beca a different story once Jin-Yeok began to be emotionally invested.
So, at this point, seeing us on a date would only make her feel her lover was being taken away from her. She hated , yes, but not enough to want dead yet.
But that was before she saw us on this date.
I wouldn’t bla her too much. I’d react in the sa insecure way if my lover was having dinner at such a nice restaurant, talking and laughing with the person who was supposed to be just a baby mama.
