Before I realized what was going on, the entire pyramid began to collapse and I was right beside it.
Choi Jie-Yu quickly caught on to what was going on before I did and she reached out to , looking horrified.
"Mister," she called.
I turned and saw the collapsing pyramid.
Ah, I knew this was a danger zone the mont I saw it. And to think I would get caught up in it again.
As if paralyzed, I couldn’t move. Just like how I couldn’t move when Jin-Yeok’s crazy ex-girlfriend planned to run over.
Why did such things only happen when I was out with Jin-Yeok?
And then, a hand grabbed my arm and pulled away with a lot of force.
I was originally supposed to crash on the floor while the pyramid shattered beautifully and dangerously but soone else caught .
Jin-Yeok.
He grabbed my arm and shielded with his body.
My heart was pounding.
The sound of the shattering glasses wouldn’t stop.
They kept breaking and I kept wincing, holding Jin-Yeok tight as if I would get hurt if I let go.
Once the shattering stopped, Jin-Yeok released a bit, enough to look at my face and express his worry.
"Are you alright, Jo-Pil? Did you get cut?"
It didn’t feel like I got hurt anywhere.
His trembling voice was actually what worried .
I reached for his face and stroked it, smiling as I assured him.
"I’m fine," I said. "If not for that girl pulling away, I definitely would’ve needed to visit the hospital."
He hugged again, glad I was fine, but I just rembered Choi Jie-Yu had pulled away with so much force that it was enough to land both of us on the floor.
Was she okay?
I turned and found her on the floor, staring in shock. Not shocked at the shattered pyramid, but shocked as to who was holding in his arms.
Shin Jin-Yeok.
She probably didn’t expect to et soone like him here.
"Are you okay?" I asked, breaking free from Jin-Yeok’s hug and going to her, but she imdiately realized that the shattered glasses had spread all over, even to her side, so she shook her head to stop .
"No, I’m fine. Please stay there. It’s dangerous over here."
"What?"
It was then that I realized her hands and legs had suffered from the splattering shards of glass.
I frowned. She could’ve saved herself when she saw the pyramid falling but instead, she chose to save .
I don’t know if she considered that an investnt or if she was just soone with a good heart, but it was rather reckless for her own well-being.
I was thankful to her though.
It was thanks to her help that Jin-Yeok was able to keep safe, if not, we would’ve never heard the end of it once we got ho.
Still... The woman I rembered from the future... Two years ago, wasn’t soone with a pure heart and an awkward smile?
She was ruthless.
’I guess every legend has a starting point like this.’ I thought and then turned to Jin-Yeok. "She’s hurt," I said to him, and with just a flick of his finger, he mobilized his n, who I didn’t even know were around, to co help her.
They matched into this dangerous area with no care for the shards that might harm them.
Well, why would they?
They were wearing shoes that could kick so sense out of soone’s skull.
One of them went to pick her up. No, that’s not the right word.
They carried her from the floor carefully since her legs and feet were hurt.
"Ah," she was surprised by this sudden treatnt but she could not even decline, as she was thinking of the future.
Maybe this was her chance to make connections with one of the biggest figures.
"They’ll take you to the hospital," I said to her. "Once you’re well, let’s et again." I smiled.
Jin-Yeok also added,
"I’d also like to et you. I need to thank you for what you did for Jo-Pil today." Hearing this, Choi Jie-Yu felt she had taken a rather large step forward.
A step that could free her from the current constraints.
"That was very dangerous," Jin-Yeok said, tightening his arm around , and I narrowed my eyes away.
I didn’t even know I was so close to the pyramid. I guess it’s my fault here.
"I’m sorry. I didn’t know sothing like that would happen either. I was being careful."
"Yes, you were." He said and raised his gaze to look at the one who had knocked over a glass from the bottom of the pyramid.
Jin-Yeok was well known as a gentleman but for sothing like this, he wasn’t sure he would be able to contain his anger.
"It seems we have so unwanted guests." He said and snapped his fingers. The rest of his n went to surround the perpetrator and their company. "Better weed them out before they cause any more trouble."
His n began to drag them away and I nodded.
I was in support of that.
Because of them I almost got into a serious accident.
Gosh, these things are always dangerous.
Now it was the champagne pyramid, what next?
Was the Chandelier going to fall on out of nowhere?
I imdiately shuddered.
Wait, I should watch my mouth. I could very much jinx it with a simple remark like that. I’ll seal my lips.
"Are you tired?" Jin-Yeok asked. "Do you want to rest?"
There were eyes on us on every corner.
"Aren’t we going to go ho at this point?" I asked.
"Why would we when we haven’t even gotten to the highlight of the event yet?"
What? There was a highlight?
Then, soone tapped their glass with a little spoon, drawing out attention.
It looked like it was the host.
"Though an unforeseen mistake happened all of a sudden, we’re glad no one got seriously hurt. So, without wasting much ti, let us get to the point of this event now. Please, if you just take this route, you’ll get to the auction floor, where we shall start the main event."
My eyes widened.
Auction? A main event?
I looked at Jin-Yeok.
What was being auctioned?
It wasn’t what I was thinking, was it?
Jin-Yeok did not say anything. He simply smiled at .
"I told you you’d know once you got here." He said but was this a thing to smile about?
I just hope... My worries were uncalled for.
