That day, Chu Tao took Li Xiangning to a private restaurant and ordered a lot of delicious dishes.

He had recently closed a big deal and was quite happy about it, so he called Li Xiangning out, wanting to share his good mood with her. After arriving, he even ordered so wine and drank quite a bit.

The wine at this private restaurant was also homade, very good in taste, but with a strong after-effect.

Not long after, Chu Tao got a bit drunk.

Chu Tao smiled and said, "Xiangning, you know, your sister is different from you. Your sister is always elegant, even when eating, taking small bites like a true lady. But I like dining with you better, it feels more enjoyable."

Lately, the two had dined together countless tis.

Li Xiangning felt a little joy in her heart. So, Brother Tao likes her a bit, doesn’t he? He’s not that satisfied with her sister, is he?

After having their al, they were ready to head ho.

But Chu Tao had been drinking and was sowhat disoriented, so naturally, he couldn’t drive.

Li Xiangning called for a car, planning to send Chu Tao ho first.

Chu Tao lived alone outside, and after sending him ho, Li Xiangning boiled water, brewed tea, and set it aside.

Seeing Chu Tao, her heart inexplicably stirred.

Such a good man, so considerate, gentle, and even handso, where else could she find one?

This was her chance; otherwise, when he marries her sister, where would she cry?

Moreover, if sothing happened between them now, she could say he forced her, couldn’t she? And he had feelings for her, didn’t he?

With this thought, Li Xiangning thought it was even more doable.

First, she cleaned all of Chu Tao’s clothes, which took quite an effort, though she wasn’t good at many things, she had strength.

Then she orchestrated a "scene" where anyone would think the battle was intense.

When Chu Tao woke up, he felt a splitting headache. As he was about to get up, sothing seed off. The next mont, he saw a woman’s arm around him.

It was astonishingly, Li Xiangning.

Chu Tao frowned, trying hard to rember. Last night, they had drunk a lot, were enjoying the conversation, and not long after, he got drunk. He vaguely rembered Xiangning sending him ho, needing his keys to get in. But he didn’t recall anything after that.

Seeing the broken clothes on the floor, Chu Tao couldn’t help but cover his forehead. Damn, what should he do now?

Li Xiangning mumbled a few words, then opened her eyes, shrank a bit upon seeing Chu Tao, wrapped herself in the quilt, turned away, trembling all over.

Chu Tao felt a bit sorry, quickly hugged Li Xiangning, gently comforted her, and asked what exactly happened last night.

Li Xiangning sobbed, "Brother Tao, you were so scary last night. I brought you back, gave you water, wiped your face, and was about to leave when you suddenly lunged, then... I was so scared, in so much pain, begging you, but you ignored ..."

Chu Tao naturally saw the vivid red on the bedsheet, his sense of pity growing: "Don’t cry, it’s okay now. Xiangning, be good. Don’t cry. Brother Tao will take responsibility. Don’t be afraid. Brother Tao won’t be so rough with you in the future."

While the two were being tender, Li Shuning arrived with Chu Tao’s mother, Xu Minrong.

Li Shuning had found so excuse. She knew that today was the day those two would be together.

Thus, she had invited Chu Tao’s mother out early, ntioning how she had been to Chu Tao’s and thought his place was too empty. Given how busy Chu Tao was, he likely had no ti to arrange things, so she thought of asking Xu Minrong to help buy so household items.

How could Xu Minrong refuse? She was bored at ho anyway, and setting up her son’s place was quite fun.

Li Shuning had Chu Tao’s key. Though they were engaged, they hadn’t gone beyond holding hands. But Chu Tao gave her the key, wanting to give her so ti to adjust.

Li Shuning and Xu Minrong entered the house, finding it extrely quiet.

Xu Minrong thought her son was likely still asleep.

After all, it was still early, and she didn’t expect her son to leave for work so soon.

She quite liked this daughter-in-law candidate, although it was an arranged marriage between families, as she was, after all, well-mannered and poised.

Seeing Li Shuning had already entered the kitchen, having seen her buy so ingredients earlier, Xu Minrong guessed she wanted to display her culinary skills and make breakfast for her son.

With this thought, Xu Minrong liked the candidate even more for being so considerate.

To her, soone who could take care of her son was delightful.

Xu Minrong opened the bedroom door, as Shuning was making breakfast, they’d need to wake her son up, else he might look unkempt later.

With a smile on her lips, she opened the door but scread upon seeing the scene inside.

Chu Tao had been exchanging sweet words with Li Xiangning, but as mornings often are, n can be impulsive, right?

Hence, what Xu Minrong saw ignited her fury.

Initially, Chu Tao was displeased at being interrupted, but upon seeing his mother, he panicked a bit, quickly covering Li Xiangning with the quilt.

Chu Tao dared not et his mother’s eyes: "Mom, why are you here?"

Hearing the scream, Li Shuning approached: "Auntie, what happened?"

The next mont, Li Shuning saw the "scenic view" inside.

Li Shuning was wide-eyed, sowhat in disbelief.

Chu Tao braced himself: "Mom, Shuning, could you step out for a mont? I’ll get dressed and co out."

Li Shuning seed in disbelief, standing still, her expression clearly hurt.

Indeed, one was her fiancé, the other her sister—such a blow...

Xu Minrong sympathetically patted Li Shuning’s hand and led her to the living room.

Once seated, Li Shuning suddenly seed to co to, silently shedding tears.

Xu Minrong sighed. Clearly, this was no small matter; the friendship between the two families mustn’t be ruined by this. Thinking it over, she called Li Zhu, Jiang Xiaodie, and her husband.

This matter was too grave for her to solve alone; it was best to call everyone over early.

The main thing was, this situation was utterly ridiculous.

Thinking about Li Shuning’s intentions, Xu Minrong felt she couldn’t face Li Shuning anymore.

How did her son end up like this?

Did he even realize what his actions represented?

Did he consider the Li Family’s feelings?

The more Xu Minrong thought, the angrier she beca.

In the storyline, those two weren’t caught in the room, and it was only when the wedding date neared that Li Xiangning, unwilling to reconcile, revealed it, naturally leading to different occurrences.
