Qin Ye and Rong Yan set off for Rong Wenze’s ho.

Madam Rong was already waiting for her daughter, so the mont they arrived, she spotted them.

When she saw Qin Ye, she was unexpectedly taken aback.

She pulled the two aside,

and asked Qin Ye in a low voice, "Qin, why have you co back?" Weren’t you only a few days into your job?

Wasn’t it agreed that it would be a long ti before you ca back?

She had thought it would be at least a month!

Qin Ye explained, "Mom, it’s not very busy now, so I took the opportunity to co back. I’ll be returning tomorrow morning."

Initially, he was supposed to return in the afternoon, but he managed to push it to the next morning.

This way, he could spend an extra night with his wife.

Hearing this, Madam Rong asked no further questions.

Just now, she almost thought her son-in-law was incompetent at his job... and had been fired.

Thinking this way... really was sinful.

She wanted to ask Qin Ye about how work was going, but realized it was obviously not appropriate to ask here.

"You stay here for a while; the big group is probably about to head out soon. By the way, if that blabbermouth bothers you two, just tell and don’t act yourself."

"Okay," Rong Yan replied succinctly, knowing who her mother was referring to.

Madam Rong had her own matters to attend to and couldn’t stay here, "I have to go get busy then."

Rong Yan and Qin Ye nodded at the sa ti.

The two did not join the crowded areas. As for the food here... they had no interest at all.

Luckily, the place they stayed was relatively secluded and there were fewer people.

In addition, everyone seed busy, which really quieted things down for them.

It was only when it was ti to leave that Madam Rong ca again, "Qin, Yanyan, we’re leaving, hurry and follow."

"Okay." Rong Yan originally planned to follow at the very end, but she and Qin Ye ended up being brought to walk alongside Rong Wenze and his sons.

As the procession started moving, Rong Wenze’s family cried excessively as if they were acting in a drama... making Rong Yan and Qin Ye seem particularly out of place.

After all, Rong Yan was nominally Grandma Rong’s granddaughter.

A granddaughter and a grandson-in-law... neither of them pretended to cry, not a single tear in their eyes.

Many relatives behind them looked at them... but did Rong Yan care? She ignored their gazes.

Fortunately, the whole process proceeded without any mischief... and went smoothly until the end.

This sowhat surprised Rong Yan.

But thinking about it, the relatives might have warned Rong Wenze’s family.

After all, the fact that Manman hard Grandma was an iron-clad case confird by the police.

And Manman’s sentencing... would be settled in a few days.

It was good for Rong Yan that Rong Wenze’s family did not trouble her.

The couple returned ho around two in the afternoon.

It was the hottest ti of the day.

Qin Ye saw that his wife’s face was sweaty and felt incredibly heartbroken.

"Darling, why don’t you go inside and cool off?"

He implied that she should go back to her mysterious "space" because he knew that space was not as hot as outside and was quite cool.

"Okay. I need to wash up first." Rong Yan felt uncomfortable with the sticky sweat on her body.

After Qin Ye watched his wife enter the house, he then turned to his sister who seed hesitant to speak.

"Have you been listening to your sister-in-law these past few days?"

Qin i nodded, "Yes."

Qin Ye was naturally a man of few words, all his enthusiasm in life devoted solely to his wife.

Regarding his younger sister, Qin Ye had always communicated relatively little.

So, having asked just that one question, he had nothing else to ask.

Still, Qin i, who had been waiting for a while, saw that her elder brother didn’t say anything more, so she asked quietly, "Big brother, is your work going well?"

Qin Ye nodded, "Yes, smoothly."

Again, neither of them had anything to say.

"...Big brother, let get you so waterlon!" Qin i didn’t need more words from him; this was their usual way of interacting.

However, seeing her elder brother return ho made Qin i very happy.

"You don’t need to fuss, big brother isn’t thirsty, and we can eat it later when your sister-in-law cos out." The taste of waterlon is slightly affected if it’s cut too early.

He knew his wife was... quite particular about food.

She didn’t particularly like waterlon that had been sitting out too long.

"Okay." Qin i nodded.

"You go work on your writing and reading, and when school starts, make sure to study hard." Qin Ye still hoped his younger sister would continue her education.

Her health wasn’t particularly good, only by reading more could her future benefit.

"Okay." Qin i obediently nodded and then left.

Qin Ye also didn’t let himself idle; he began to clean the yard, every room...

When Rong Yan ca out fresh from a bath, she saw Qin Ye holding a broom and continuously busying himself.

"You don’t have to work so hard, the house is clean enough as it is."

"It’s okay, I rarely co back and doing these chores is nothing big. By the way, do you have any seedlings that need transplanting? I can plant so when it’s less sunny later."

Rong Yan actually did have so, "Yes, I’ll get them for you when it’s cooler."

"Great. By the way, what would you like for dinner?" His mother-in-law and father-in-law weren’t coming ho for dinner.

Rong Yan was very adept at these things and said with a cheery smile, "Whatever you cook is fine because I love everything you make."

Her words rapidly increased the warmth on Qin Ye’s face.

Even his voice turned a bit hoarse, "Okay..."

Their gazes intertwined, making even the air feel a bit sticky.

Just then, an uninviting voice rang out, "Qin Ye, you really ca ho."

Qin Ye and Rong Yan turned their heads and simultaneously looked towards Qin Zhen.

"Why are you here?" Qin Ye’s tone could barely mask his disdain.

"I ca because Grandfather asked to check if you had returned and if so, to co ho for dinner tonight. Grandfather has been missing you!"

"I’m not going."

"Why not?" Qin Zhen was puzzled.

Qin Ye: ...

Did he need a reason not to go? That would be because they were interrupting his alone ti with his wife.

He already had so little ti, every minute less was sixty seconds lost.

Besides, what good conversation could he possibly have with Grandfather?

It was always the sa few sentences.

Seeing Qin Zhen’s expression, he reluctantly found a reason, "Back in our hotown, it’s generally considered inauspicious to eat at soone else’s house on the day of a funeral."

Qin Zhen rolled her eyes upon hearing this.

"Qin Ye, don’t forget, that’s also your ho, so don’t call it soone else’s or else, Grandfather would be hurt."

It seed that after all this ti, Qin Ye still didn’t consider himself a part of the Qin Family.

Qin Ye coldly replied, "After parents and siblings separate, they each have their own family. Even Qin Yu, after his marriage, isn’t in the sa family as I am."

They each had their respective small families.

Qin Zhen: ...

It was lucky Qin Yu wasn’t here, otherwise that kid would probably be furious upon hearing this.

He always talked about taking care of his sister-in-law when he grew up.
