My empire, he thought, his arms tightening around her. And you are its crown jewel. And jewels are kept locked in vaults.

Inside, Huo Qi received a new ssage on his tablet. The preliminary interrogation reports were in. The threat, it seed, was more organized than they had initially believed. He looked out at the balcony, at the seemingly perfect picture the couple made, and felt a chill that had nothing to do with the afternoon air.

The sun dipped below the skyline, casting long, grasping shadows that slowly enveloped the balcony, and the man who held his future in his arms, ready to trade her freedom for the illusion of safety.

He suddenly thought of sothing, "Have you called your family?" He queried, eying her, wanting to see what her reaction would be.

"No! I haven’t...." She wanted to say, she wanted to get rid of them for what they had done to the original Tang Fei but thought otherwise. Huo Ting Cheng knew Tang Fei as a kind and gentle lady, so saying sothing like that, was out of her character.

She didn’t have any plans of exposing herself, she had to maintain that identity, as he hadn’t doubted her for a single day.

"Do you plan to contact them?" He queried calming down, since she hadn’t talked to them, then it was possible she didn’t plan to.

She hesitated not knowing what to say...

"It’s okay if you don’t want to contact them, they aren’t worthy of your ti and sacrifices... You can just let go." He spoke up, noticing her hesitation, and when he told her that, she smiled wildly.

"Thank you for understanding... You are the best." She pecked him on the cheek.

With a final, satisfied smile and a light kiss on Huo Ting Cheng’s cheek, Tang Fei slipped from his lap. Her goal, the financial backing for her empire, had been effortlessly achieved. This was exactly the reason why marrying rich was the best, you achieve your goals and dreams easily.

The weight of the world seed to lift from her shoulders, replaced by the exhilarating buzz of impending creation.

"I’ll leave you to your mysterious council," she said, her eyes sparkling. "I have an empire to run, thanks to my generous investor."

She glided back into the pent office, her focus imdiately returning to the bank of glowing screens and the folders on the coffee table. She was already speaking into her headset, her voice crisp and commanding as she resud directing the flow of auditions, completely enveloped in the world she was building.

The mont the glass door slid shut behind her, the atmosphere on the balcony solidified. Huo Qi, Secretary Li, and Dr. Zu Zhi returned to their positions, but the pretense of casual conversation was gone.

Huo Qi spoke first, his voice low and urgent. "Sir, the initial interrogation reports are concerning. The attack wasn’t random. The operatives were given specific coordinates and a description of Madam Tang’s vehicle. This was a targeted reconnaissance, possibly a test of our security protocols. The trail, while complex, points toward a sophisticated organization. They are still out there."

Secretary Li, ever the pragmatist, opened his leather folder. "From a legal and logistical standpoint, what you are suggesting... confining Tang Fei indefinitely... is untenable. She is a public figure now, the face of this massive project. Her sudden, complete disappearance would raise questions we cannot easily answer. It could trigger the very scrutiny and conflict we aim to avoid."

It was Dr. Zu Zhi who delivered the most damning assessnt, his voice calm but cutting. "Huo Ting Cheng, you are treating the symptom, not the disease. The disease is your fear. By caging her, you are not healing the trauma; you are becoming the source of a new, more profound one. You said you would bear her hatred. But you are forgetting one thing." He leaned forward slightly, his gaze intent. "The woman you fell in love with, the one whose strength you admire, will cease to exist in that gilded prison. You will not be left with a docile, grateful wife. You will be left with a ghost, a reflection of the broken woman you found on the streets. Is that what you saved her for? To break her yourself, more slowly and luxuriously?"

Huo Ting Cheng had listened to them all, his face an impassive mask as he watched Tang Fei through the glass. She laughed at sothing on a screen, a vibrant, unforced sound of joy.

"Your concerns are noted," he said, his voice dangerously quiet, devoid of all emotion. "But they are irrelevant. The threats are real, Zu Zhi. They are not a fignt of my fear. They are in my interrogation rooms. And the legal complications, Secretary Li, are only complications if they are discovered. The Huo Conglorate has built fortunes on making inconvenient truths disappear."

He finally turned his head, and his blue eyes were like chips of Arctic ice. "I am not asking for a consensus. I am giving you orders. Huo Qi, I want that organization identified and erased. Secretary Li, you will draft a plausible long-term narrative for Tang Fei’s increased reclusiveness, a remote creative retreat, and a sabbatical for project developnt. And you Zu Zhi," his gaze hardened on the doctor, "you will ensure her mind remains... placid. You will help her adjust to her new reality, not fight on it."

He stood up, his imposing fra casting a long shadow in the twilight. "The decision is made. The main estate is being prepared. She will be moved there by the end of the week. Your task is not to question it, but to execute it flawlessly."

The three n stood in stunned, horrified silence. The finality in his tone was absolute. He was no longer their leader, making a strategic, if brutal, choice. He was a force of nature, a man so consud by possessive love that he was willing to dismantle the very person he claid to protect.
