Lun wasn’t too bothered about the rewards of the quest nor how valuable the currency of this place was, he only cared about fulfilling his evolution requirents and this quest allowed him to beco one step closer to doing so.
Heread through the details of the quest. The quest provided so basic information about the general area where the D tier Shadow Wolf had been last seen, but it was vague. It ntioned that the creature preferred darker environnts, which imdiately brought to mind the shadowy caves and dens that Rabid Wolves, and the Shadow Wolf inhabited back in the dungeon.
With his extensive experience in dealing with Shadow Wolves from his ti in the tutorial, Lun knew that they were creatures of darkness. They thrived in dimly lit or underground locations, and their predatory instincts were honed in such environnts. This information would be crucial in tracking down and confronting the D tier Shadow Wolf.
Lun approached the receptionist once more and asked if there was any additional information about the creature’s last sighting. The receptionist consulted a ledger and provided him with a rough map of the area where the Shadow Wolf had been spotted. It indicated a dense forest on the outskirts of the village, but the details were scarce.
Thanking the receptionist, Lun left the Hunter’s Guild with a newfound sense of purpose. He knew that this quest was a significant step toward achieving his goal of evolving to the D tier, and it also presented an opportunity to test his skills against a more formidable opponent.
The forest on the outskirts of the village beckoned, its depths shrouded in mystery and darkness. Lun had faced countless challenges in the Fantasia Realm, but this quest felt different. It was a chance to prove himself as a hunter and to confront the very creatures that had once haunted his mories.
As he ventured into the forest, he kept a vigilant eye out for any signs of the D tier Shadow Wolf. The dense foliage and looming trees cast long shadows, creating an ideal environnt for such a creature. He moved silently, his senses attuned to the slightest rustle or sound that might give away the wolf’s presence.
Hours turned into a day, and the search continued. Lun’s determination never wavered as he delved deeper into the forest, following the clues and instincts that guided him. The encounter with the D tier Shadow Wolf was inevitable, and he was ready to face the challenge head-on.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the forest floor, Lun made camp in the area where the D tier Shadow Wolf had been sighted. He had chosen a small clearing, far enough from the village to ensure its safety but close enough to respond swiftly if needed. With the fire crackling and a makeshift tent erected, he settled in for the night.
With every step, the darkness of the forest enveloped him, and the howling wind seed to echo with the distant cries of beasts throughout the Fantasia Realm.
The forest was a symphony of nocturnal sounds—chirping insects, hooting owls, and the distant calls of creatures that thrived in the darkness. Lun’s senses remained on high alert, even as he attempted to rest. The knowledge that he was in the territory of a formidable D tier beast kept him vigilant.
Inside his tent, Lun lay on his bedroll, his eyes closed but his mind alert. His range of perception extended outwards, allowing him to sense subtle movents and sounds in the surrounding area. It was a hunter’s instinct, honed through countless encounters with creatures in the tutorial.
The night air was cool, and Lun could feel the breeze rustling the leaves above him. Ti seed to slow as he lay there, waiting for any sign of any lurking beast’s presence. He knew that the night was filled with nocturnal beasts, much unlike the tutorial, lurking in the shadows, and the tension was palpable.
Minutes turned into hours, and Lun had eventually drifted into a deep sleep. But his eyes imdiately darted open in but a mont’s notice as a strange sensation washed over him. It was a subtle shift in the air, a feeling of unease that sent shivers down his spine.
Lun’s eyes snapped open, and he slowly reached for the hilt of his weapon. He remained perfectly still, listening intently to the night around him. That’s when he heard it—a faint, echoing growl, like a whisper from the abyss.
His heart raced as he realised the source of the sound. It was coming from inside his tent.
With lightning speed, Lun grabbed his spear and threw back the flap of the tent. His eyes t a sight that sent a chill down his spine. There, in the dim moonlight filtering through the trees, stood a lurking figure.
It was a silhouette, vaguely canine in shape, but its eyes glowed with an eerie, unnatural light. The figure was partially obscured by the tent, but Lun’s range of perception confird what his instincts had already told him.
The lurking figure was the D tier Shadow Wolf—the very creature he had been searching for.
Lun’s heart pounded in his chest as he faced the embodint of his quest. The Shadow Wolf regarded him with malevolent, glowing eyes, and a low growl rumbled from its throat. The hunter and his prey were locked in a tense standoff, and the forest seed to hold its breath, waiting for the inevitable clash between predator and prey.
