The tunnel opened up to Lun, which revealed the one thing he had been looking for the whole ti he had been in the dungeon.
[Shadow Wolf - ?]
The boss of the dungeon had finally revealed itself.
Lun had just entered the area when the pitch black fur and the glowing yellow eyes of the beast was all that filled his vision. This was by far the biggest wolf he had ever seen, standing at 5 tres it easily trumped the size of any beast he had ever hunted, let alone seen before!
Instead of attacking him, the wolf simply observed from a distance while Lun’s emotions were going through a turmoil at finally finding the boss of the dungeon. The boss simply looked at him as if he wasn’t even a threat.
The standoff continued for another 10 seconds until Lun grew impatient with the wolf, usually it was the beast that attacked him first. Situations like this had rarely happened.
Suddenly, Lun lifted his spear above his shoulder and started pouring his mana into it, preparing an attack that would start his fight with the final boss of the dungeon. It only took him a second to finish infusing his mana into the spear and soon, he emptied it out in an instant with three throws of the Arcane spear’s own attached skill.
The Shadow wolf finally reacted as Lun fired off the three spears towards it by raising it’s oversized paw and releasing a nacing scratch to the air.
Lun ignored the action at first until three black crescent streaks coursed through the air, resembling claw marks as they t the three spears still in mid flight and annihilated them one by one before continuing onwards towards Lun, not posing much of a threat anymore after destroying Lun’s three attacks.
Dodging, Lun didn’t take it to heart as he expected no less from sothing that lorded over the whole dungeon with who knows how many Elites and level 20 beasts inhabiting it.
He decided to switch his approach upon seeing the beast dispose of his attack so effortlessly, this ti attempting a new attack that he had yet to put into use in a fight.
’If my intuition is correct, then this should work!’
So distance still between them, this ti Lun didn’t use the usual approach to infuse his mana into the spear, instead he decided to use a skill that had proved it’s power ti and ti again.
’Fire Infusion!’
He activated his Fire Infusion skill on his spear, and now with a scorching orange and blue aura flowing around his spear, he lifted his spear above his shoulder again.
Only he didn’t throw his spear. Instead of the usual glowing blue ethereal spears that resulted from the Epic spear’s attached skill, this ti he launched his new experintal attack.
’It worked! HAHA, yes!’
From his spear flew an ethereal spear that glowed a scorching orange hue, with a light intensity that made one’s eyes squint when looking directly at the attack.
The Shadow Wolf was especially affected by the intense heat and light due to it’s sensitive and powerful yellow eyes, causing it to flinch slightly when the flaming spear soared through the air.
This ti the wolf didn’t attack back but blocked the spear with a whip of it’s long and bushy tail from the side.
It was pushed back many tres and when it’s montum stopped, all that was left in place of it’s tail was a charred and scorched stump where it used to lay.
For the first ti since the fight had started, the boss of the dungeon showed so genuine anger towards the foe it was facing. It imdiately entered an enraged state similar to that of the level 21 Rabid wolf Lun had slain previously.
Just like with that Rabid wolf last ti, the Shadow wolf’s eyes went from a cat like yellow gaze to a terrifying blood red gaze.
The distance between the two was imdiately filled when the boss revealed it’s terrifying speed and soon the two were face to face, Lun drastically dwarfed in size as he had to crane his neck if he even wanted to et his gaze with the enraged boss’.
He barely reached the beast’s knee, and felt the now overpowering aura the boss revealed upon entering it’s enraged state.
As it turned out, the Shadow wolf was simply suppressing it’s aura when Lun had first sensed it, explaining why he felt no power from it. And now, it released the full might of it’s overpowering aura.
’An E tier beast! This boss has to be at least level 25, this doesn’t look good for ...’
Lun’s intuition imdiately warned him of the terrifying existence in front of him, but it was too late to back down now. With the wolf drawing nearer and nearer with every step it brought down it’s huge and sharp claws upon him.
If this were the sa Lun as the day before, he wouldn’t be able to dodge this attack. Fortunately for him, he made the right choice in choosing his newest skill upon reaching level 20.
’Shadow blink!’
Right as the boss’ huge claws were about to close in on him, he teleported to the area behind the wolf as the ground where he stood only monts before exploded in a great smog of dust and dark mana.
Lun knew he had created himself an opportunity with his move, as the wolf clearly didn’t expect him to have a skill that enabled him to dodge it’s attack.
From behind, this ti he conjured up a Fire bolt above his palm and launched it imdiately, not leaving any ti for himself to aim for anywhere in particular on the wolf as it had already pinpointed his new location and would only take a few monts to arrive before him if he didn’t react in ti.
An explosion rang out throughout the narrow caverns as Lun was sent to the ground instantly and a flurry of dust was blasted all throughout the cave now.
In his stupor, Lun focused his attention on where he last saw the wolf and his eyesight eventually cleared, revealing it’s figure in the sa spot.
It didn’t take long for the dust to clear, revealing one of Lun’s worst fears regarding the attack.
