After two and a half months of waiting, the banshee finally returned to the Sun star. She was not alone, she ca along with five others of her kind and all of them were willing to work for Scarlet.
First she teleported away from the Blue star with the banshee and they went to Nordem. The conversation they needed to have required no unnecessary ears, especially not Flan’s. Even Severus at the mont was not aware of what she was plotting.
Nordem was just the sa as always, dark, cold and filled with horrors. Used to this hopeless situation, she barely blinked when she ca to this world now.
She took the banshee to the furthest and quietest place she could find, an isolated town by the water where no human or ghost existed.
"We can talk here." she let go of the banshee’s arm finally.
The banshee was not ready to lose physical contact and she grabbed Scarlet’s in stead. "Sister, I have missed you so much, so, so much."
She looked at Scarlet with her big sparkling eyes seeking for attention and affection. Scarlet sighed and gestured at her to lower her head.
The banshee had seen Scarlet do this to Esong many tis before. Eagerly, she lowered her head and waited for the gentle head pat to co.
"Good girl, you have done well." Scarlet said.
The banshee squealed and threw herself into Scarlet’s arms. "Sister, you have no idea how difficult it has been. That old man gave the run around. There are so many rumors about where he could be but almost all of them are false." The banshee suddenly left Scarlet’s embrace and looked at her with confusion on her face. "Mmm, sister, why does it seem like you gained so weight?"
"I have been over eating." Scarlet replied.
The banshee didn’t dwell on the response and she smiled like a fool. "Who cares about a little fat, you sll better anyway."
She held her arms out, angling for another hug but this ti round, Scarlet stopped her with a single hand pushing against her forehead.
"Information first you clingy banshee. Did you find him and how can I get to him?"
It was of utmost importance that she locate the deity. He was the only one that she could think of as a solution to her problem. The bigger her belly grew, the more anxious she beca. It didn’t help that the flas were also spiraling and occasionally uncontrollable.
"I found him after searching through sixty three worlds. Sixty three worlds in two months, sister I think I have broken the record for number of worlds travelled through by one banshee in the shortest ti. Can you put in that world record book of yours?"
The banshee’s downside as always was her short attention span. Her ability to be side tracked by simple things probably contributed to the long ti she had spent tracking down Apheitos.
The world record book she ntioned was Scarlet’s version of the Guinness world records from her old earth. Even if the banshee had accomplished a record worthy event, it was not as if Scarlet could record it in the human world. If she wanted recognition, they would have to create one on the forum.
"Don’t lose focus, first tell about Apheitos." She shook the banshee by the shoulders. "Talk, I am impatient already."
"Ooh-Ooh, sister, you will break my bones, take it easy."
Disdainfully, Scarlet rolled her eyes at the banshee and reminded her, "You have no bones."
Touching her was like holding light wind. You could feel it but it could slip away at any mont. It could beco more solid when it desired however.
"Oh, you are right." The banshee replied. She brought her shoulders closer for Scarlet to shake as she pleased.
"Forget it, just talk." On her last nerves, Scarlet told her.
"I didn’t just find his realm, I found Apheitos himself. Sister do you know what was weird?"
Scarlet shook her head. She wasn’t there, of course, she didn’t know what was weird.
"He said that he has been expecting all along. He said that he has been hunting sothing which will make it’s way close to you soon. When that thing cos, you will see him."
Scarlet broke an invisible stick with her bare hands. The banshee had started out so well, exciting her before letting her down. Like every other deity, Apheitos had chosen the cryptic route. Revealing sothing but revealing nothing at the sa ti.
"Oh, and he said to give you this." The banshee literally conjured a necklace out of thin air. "He said that it would help you keep unwanted voices out of your head and make sure your thoughts are guarded."
Scarlet accepted the necklace, a pendant which had a hamr.
"He said that you should prepare for a long trip and no one in our world must know where you are going."
She looked at the pendant with skeptical eyes, doubtful of the intention of the god of craftsn. The last ti she put on sothing which a deity gave her, it was the bracelet of kin which held her powers prisoner.
What she was seeking now was a way to get rid of the old prison, not add another to it or replace the old with a new one.
"Sister, old Apheitos said that he will only co to you if you trust him otherwise you will be dood. In his words, even if you remove that thing, the power will consu you. If you want his help, it must be between you two."
Scarlet put the pendant away and nodded.
"Did he say anything else?" she asked him.
"No, he was in a hurry. I was lucky that I found him. He is on his way to clear out the dreams of dead craftsn on so world."
Scarlet would have asked more but she sensed the energy of a grim reaper coming her way.
"Go." she told the banshee.
She was not afraid to be seen with the banshee. The judgntal looks other grim reapers gave her didn’t matter but, she didn’t anyone questioning the banshee on anything. The business with Apheitos was top secret.
To make it seem like she was here on official business, she used her powers to push and pull the water, as if she was dredging it and searching for sothing. She had barely started when three reapers showed up.
One, wanted, two unwanted. Frost was the wanted one, as he was a friend and the other two were Jonas and Ro, friends of Ulysses.
The minute she caught sight of them, she tightened her hold around her scythe and ignited her fla slowly in the other. She had long learned not to trust her kind.
Frost teleported to her side quickly and stood by her.
"Hey Scarlet."
"Frost." she answered.
Her eyes didn’t leave the two warrior reapers and theirs did not leave hers.
She stood in combat form and warned them in a cold voice, "There is no soul eater or evil soul here. No demons, not the unauthorized ones anyway. If you have co for specifically and you seek a fight, I will be rciless."
