The bell had rung, signaling end of break. However, unlike Yona, I didn’t rush back to class.

"Why the hell did I talk so cringe to Yona earlier...?"

Like a zombie, I wandered down the school hallway and climbed the stairs.

“Was it because I got a little cocky after realizing she liked …?”

What a bastard I am.

Just when I thought things were no longer awkward between and Yona, why did I have to ruin everything again?

Seriously, I wished there was a hole I could crawl into and disappear.

"What is school? What are classes? If they could make lose my mories of this, I’d study hard every day."

While I continued pretending to be the walking dead, sothing vibrated in my pocket.

Not sothing strange—it was just my phone.

Seeing dad calling, my senses ca back in an instant.

Without hesitation, I picked up.

“Dad! Why did you only pack one spoon in my lunch? Weren’t you the one who told to eat with Yona?”

“Oh, so the lunch arrived. Good, glad you ate with Yona. But didn’t I pack two spoons?”

Huh?

“No. With all due respect, I must tell you, you did not pack two spoons, Dad.”

“Then I must’ve forgotten to put it in. I was in a rush this morning. Still, it’s your fault to begin with for forgetting it in the first place. Geeez … Why are you so much like your mother when it cos to her flaws?”

What?

... Looks like I made a huge misunderstanding here.

“So Dad, you didn’t actually plan for and Yona to feed each other because there was only one spoon?”

"Ren... Don't tell you feed her? Aren't you quite brave—"

I imdiately hung up and froze.

So in the end, it was all my fault? My fault for forgetting the lunch? My fault for overthinking earlier?

The embarrassnt I felt was beyond words.

I took a deep breath.

Alright. I decided:

“Once I get ho, I’m gonna force that junk computer to install a ga. That’s the only way I’ll forget this ss.”

I was almost about to cry.

I’ve been accumulating dark mories ever since I was a kid. Starting from writing that cringe fantasy novel my mom found—and now, it’s grown worse. Thanks to my virgin brain being absolutely hopeless around girls.

For a mont, I considered skipping class and ditching school altogether.

Unfortunately, I knew better and stopped myself.

Until—another call ca on my phone.

"Is Dad mad because I suddenly hung up on him?"

I picked it up again.

But it wasn’t Dad’s number on the screen. It was an old number—with the na above it:

"Manager."

So ... I have a part-ti job in this world too, huh?

---

After school.

Kaito spoke to as we stood at the school gate.

“Ren, are you really going straight to your part-ti job? Isn’t it a bit much, especially since you just recovered?”

“Yeah … At the very least, I can forget a lot of things by working. I hope."

“Are you really okay!? Why do your eyes look like all life has left them!?”

After parting ways dramatically with Kaito, who seed extrely worried, I made my way to work.

Honestly, Kaito, it’s not that I don’t want to talk to you about it—I just know so dark mories are better off buried where no one will ever know.

Because I know it’d be even more humiliating if I tried to talk about it to soone else.

Dark mories should only be rembered by those who experienced and witnessed them firsthand—Ren, notes from life experience.

"Well, I'm glad my workplace is still the sa. But I didn't expect that I would still be taking part-ti jobs here. Is my version of this world saving up to buy novels or sothing?"

My workplace was a restaurant near the school. Honestly, I was lucky to work here. Not only could I walk here straight from school, but the pay was decent, too.

Upon arriving, I went straight through the back door. The restaurant looked pretty busy today, so I didn’t want to bother my coworkers by entering through the front.

Then ... I saw the manager. With the air of a mature woman, she leaned against the back door smoking a cigarette. Her long blonde hair looked ssy.

“Of all my acquaintances, it seems the manager hasn’t changed much.”

This makes happy a little to see it.

I approached her.

“Smoking’s not good for your health, Manager.”

"... Oh? Isn't this our star employee? I told you on the phone to just rest for now, but here you are. Missed that much, huh?"

She grinned, showing her teeth.

After putting out her cigarette, I thought she would remain normal. But to my surprise, she suddenly raised her hand—and slapped my butt.

Um, it hurt. The previous manager definitely never did that. Can I consider this sexual harassnt?

However, I don't want to cause any trouble. So, I turned a blind eye to her actions and answered:

“I’m feeling better now. Can I start working right away?”

“If you’re really okay, then of course! Honestly, I’ve been stressed out—the number of custors dropped since you took ti off.”

Looking exhausted, the manager massaged her temple after saying that.

Custors? All I rember was helping out in the kitchen with the head chef. Why would custor numbers drop just because I was gone?

I got my answer after I went in and asked one of my coworkers.

“Your position now? Don’t tell you’ve lost your mory, Ren? You’ve always been a waiter since you started here.”

“So… I wasn’t working in the kitchen anymore?”

“Never. Anyway, hurry up and change. There’s a custor waiting.”

Looks like I really did get a role change here. I kind of regretted asking to start working right away.

But what’s done is done.

"Luckily I often observe how waiters work. So I should be okay as long as I don’t make any major mistakes.”

Besides, this was also a good chance to reset my mood. I could forget about problem with Yona by focusing on work.

I went to the changing room. Looking for the locker with my na, I opened it to get my uniform.

“...”

Unfortunately, I didn't find my usual uniform, but instead—its a maid's uniform.

Yes, a maid uniform.

Classic style maid, black with long skirt, accompanied by a white apron that was already attached there. I noticed there was a headband too, which seed to be a set.

This world had reversed gender roles. But was it also normal for boys to wear girls’ clothes?

I've searched the internet and there are a lot of boys wearing girl's clothes, but just to be sure...

I asked one of my coworkers and confird that yes, this really was my uniform—not a mix-up.

Looking around, I saw the other male servers were wearing maid uniform too.

“At least I’m not alone.”

As long as people here don't look at weird, I decided not to care.

Not wanting to waste any more ti, I put on my uniform. Grabbing a notepad, I went out to take orders from the newly arrived custors.

“Just the two of you? What would you like to order?”

“Wh—Whoa, Boss! Isn’t this the guy we failed to flirt with yesterday!? He looks so cute in that maid outfit! Jackpot!”

“Hooo? So you work here, cutie? What a fun coincidence to et you again like this.”

All I can do is smile.

A smile filled with who-knows-what emotions—or maybe, all my emotions were already gone.

Why are the delinquents I t yesterday, in here?
